I purchased a radio and had to return it. They made that process easy, but charged me a 20% restocking fee, as opposed to the 15% I had expected and which is published on their site and paperwork. I reached out to the National Sales Manager and he couldn't be bothered with the math. I teach high school math and asked another teacher to run over my figures and they agreed I was taken for an extra 5%. This wasn't my first purchase with HRO but it will be my last. Not only do they falsely advertise restocking fees (in an era when restocking fees are almost never implemented in the first place) but they also reject black and white factual data.

Called HRO on 3/16/2023@ 12:56 talked to David to order 10,15,20,40,75 Fullsize Shark hamsticks he asked me 2 times minis or full size told him twice full size not Mini well they come in as mini and I did not catch this mistake and you have to cut the packaging all to heck to get them out. Figured out they were wrong abought two weeks later. Called them to return and they told me it would be 15% restocking fee and I would have to pay shipping back to them $21.95. The mistake is on their part they should pay.
The restocking fee and shipping should be covered by them, or they could have paid the shipping on the correct product that I would repurchased. But they were no help in trying to work with me!
My responsibility was to check the product when it arrived to make sure it was correct, and I did not but told David twice to make sure they were full size not the Minis! It is hard to Know the size without a set to compare the full size and Mini. Purchased a lot of gear from HRO Not sure they will get more Business from me maybe they will read this at corporate and work with me to fix this problem of sending wrong Antennas KX4XT

They took my online order. They took my payment. "Most orders shipped within a day". After 2 weeks of not hearing anything, I contacted them. They told me that my order was fraud (but they had my money already!). I canceled my order.

This was what I posted as a review and they took it down. Why, it was a negative on them. Don't believe me look at the stars, was higher before my review, they can remove bad reviews so you never hear about them, but the stars don't lie. The pictures I posted overlap a bit, screenshots.

Bout three items during different times.
All where on stock.
They canceled and refunded one order.
The other two they said they cancelled but still no refund!

Guy on phone was nice :D but the guy he transfered me to was a tool.

4 days later still no refund.

Will do a dispute.

Known in the Amature Radio arena as HRO for Ham Radio Outlet, this is a small chain of networked stores that specializes in everything Amature (Ham) radio.

HRO has a great catalog, and fulfills orders from one or more of its stores depending on stock and location.

I have ordered on line, over the phone, and bought right at the store. Customer service is outstanding, so when I need something but don't know much about what to buy, I go to the store or call in. EVERYONE working at the stores is an experienced and licensed Amature Radio operator and will take the time to steer you to just what you need.

My only little beef is the shipping charge added to small orders... it's still less than the cost of gas to drive to a store, but I suppose I have been spoiled by Prime.
