Competitive shopping?!?!? What type of tag line is that for a website? I mean really... let's make shopping a game (ie gambling) and let's see how many victims we can collect and make money off them. They should just be honest and call it blackjack shopping but that I guess that is too fair as with black jack you have a 49% chance of winning.

It is a waste of time... never win anything but spend money without getting anything for it. I am wondering if this site does not have people bidding when the bids are low because you never even get close. I think this is a joke... i spend alot of money and got nothing.

I was considering trying out my luck with haggle.com but before I did, I thought it be a good idea to get a feel for the strategies that other bidders were using to win. So, I began studying the action around several of the auctions. Some of which was very compelling, intriguing and exciting. I started to see a possible avenue to save some money and maybe even make a little, who knows, right? THIS IS MAJOR PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU GET STARTED: I was watching an auction on a Toshiba Mini NetBook and the CURRENT LEADER WAS IALLIS. What was amazing to me was IALLIS was the only one bidding on the Netbook and EACH TIME THE CLOCK HIT 1 SECOND IALLIS OUT BID HIM OR HERSELF! I might believe that on occasion all the bidders hit the button at the same time and that IALLIS just ended up on top so quick that the other bidders were not even seen, but that wasn't the case this happened several times in a row! At first, I thought I was just missing something, but no IALLIS OUTBID HIM OR HERSELF SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW RUNNING PRICE UP BEFORE ACTUALLY BEING AWARDED THE WIN! What the heck is going on I thought!? Why would someone outbid him or herself? In addition, watch the number of bids some users place, it is just ridiculous and unrealistic no one can be that out of touch with their money that they would just throw it away like that! The living aren't just throwing money away during this great recession. Also, the site has no transparency what so ever so if you have any problems don't expect much more than a previously prepared canned response. I have read other reviews of users of haggle.com and it seems most with the exception of employees have nothing but scam to say. And of course Haggle.com has their defensive plans and canned responses in place. Bottom line any real good scam would because they would know going in that they'd be investigated sooner or later. I strongly recommend that you stay out and off this site. Look for legit deals somewhere else on the Internet. Believe me you do not want to fall for into their trap of hope! When it's too good to be true, it most likely isn't. Buyer beware, Strategy doesn't pay off if 1 user is outbidding him or herself!

They must have shill bidders. Every time I put in a bid, the same bidder outbids me along with some more new bidders. Then when I do something else while other people bid up the auction, that same bidder wins for 93 to 99% off price. Give me a break! They are setting up shill bidders to buy back their auctions while getting suckers to buy bids and never get anything. DON'T DO IT!

I was disappointed to see that they ship SOLELY to 50 U.S. States... that finished it for me! I have enjoyed using Bidz.com though, and they DO ship internationally!

I did the math and my (Revenue from items won) - (Cost of bids/payment for items won) = $1,187 profit. All you need is a brain. This was over a 3 day span too so it's not like I wasted a $#*!load of time on the computer.

I read negative reviews about Haggle prior to signing up and bidding on merchandise. I have won 32 items since signing up the first of November and have received all of the items which were exactly as described. I have had to email the company a few times concerning minor issues and they responded in a timely manner. I observed the site for two weeks before I started bidding to get a feel on when to bid and what time of the day gives the best chance of winning. I hope others stay off the site so I will have a better chance of winning!

After working in Cyber Crimes for the past 5 years I must say that "Haggle.com" has not broken any laws and you get exactly what you pay for. The key words here are "Pay For" and you do. Try going to e-bay or craigs list if you want a better then average chance on saving money on large ticket items...

There is no way that anyone can legitimatly win on this site i bought a bid pack for $20.00 all my bids are almost gone and i have seen the same hagglers on multiple pages how and why would you sit at the computer that long its beyond me they have to be employees being paid to raise bids on expensive items no one is going to take a loss of more than 10% on any site I asked a question on the site as to why the timer does not ever run out you can keep bidding indefinitly up to and beyond what the item really costs if someone on the otherside is willing to sit there as long as you can not a great site but not setup good also, Take your money elsewhere.

I find it interesting that some of the people will purposely run it up. It will have been between 1 and 30 seconds and then they will run it up to 20 minutes with the bids. I was in an auction that had been going for hours (hours!) and it was down to me and this other person basically, all the other 1 second bidders had pretty much left. I noticed these two guys jumped in swatipuneet and mikejoe11 (or some other variation of numbers behind it) beware of these two. After I was these two jack***es racked it up to 20 minutes I notices they had done the same on several other auctions. Why? Seems wierd to me and I am done after these bids.

I believe that the website works this way: 1. I don't believe Haggle owns anything. I think they are buying the products after the auction is won, with all of our bid money. 2. Both myself and a friend spent $200 in bids and stayed on the computer for over 3 hours only to find that the same person was winning everything, for days straight.( likely automated or an internal scam- shill bidding). It's a genious scam. I just can't believe it would be legal. AND THAT'S IT. Just think about it. You post a picture of something you don't have, multiple people bid on it endlessly and pay to bid. If you win a PSP for $130 total and there are even 10 people who have paid to bid and lost even $100? That's over $1000 paid to haggle. THEY ARE RIPPING US ALL OFF AND WE HAVE OURSELVES TO BLAME. WE SHOULD ALL START OUR OWN SITES! NO CAPITAL INVESTMENT, JUST A WEBSITE.

Another pay, bid&lose phoney auction site apparantly concoted from a creep in Washington State.(the domain owners).

From Haggle's very own TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

***start***Purchased Bids. In order to purchase bids, you must register an account with the Site. You must purchase and pay for any purchased bids prior to use of any such bids on the Site with any Service. All purchased bids are offered and granted by Haggle only in such quantities and at such prices and on such payment and other terms as expressly set forth on the Site, subject to and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. All purchased bids are offered and granted by Haggle at its sole discretion and are only valid until the earlier of (i) the period of time set forth for such purchased bid as part of its offer by Haggle (ZORGON NOTE: WTF DOES THAT MEAN?) (ii) the termination of your account, either by you or by Haggle, or (iii) one year from grant (ZORGON NOTE: THIS IS ILLEGAL IN CANADA). By placing a bid in an auction, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as any specific terms of the particular auction or other Service.
Use of Bids. A bid represents your right to participate in a current auction or other Service on the Site. When you place a bid in a current auction, the price of the product being auctioned increases by the amount specified for the auction and time is added to the auction by the amount specified for the auction. Each bid constitutes an offer by you to purchase the product being auctioned under these Terms and Conditions and any specific terms and conditions for such auction (ZORGON NOTE: HERE'S THE WORDING THAT ALL OF THESE INTERNET PSUEDO AUCTION CRIMINALS USE TO MAKE YOU THINK THIS IS EVEN LEGAL: YOU HAVE MADE AN OFFER, NOT A TRANSACTION! THE OFFER IS INCOMPLETE SINCE NO CHATTEL EXCHANGED HANDS, THEREFORE TO LOSE YOUR $1 BID IS CRIMINAL: DON'T FALL FOR IT! THIS IS THE HEART OF THE BEAST: IT'S CLEVER PSUEDO-LEGAL GARBAGE THAT MEANS NOTHING). If you have valid free or purchased bids available to you for use, you may place a bid in an auction by clicking on the "Bid", "Bid Now" or similarly designated link during a live auction on the Site. You may use a bid only once, and once you place a bid in an auction or other Service on the Site the Haggle will deduct the bid from your account. All bids are non-transferable, non-assignable and offered and granted by Haggle solely to you for your personal, non-commercial use in auctions and other Services that may be offered on the Site, subject to and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Under no circumstances may all or any portion of your bids or bid packages be sold, traded, pledged, bartered or otherwise provided to any third party.
Refunds. No refunds will be provided for any bids purchased or used.***end***

There you have it! Pure scam like so many other pay, bid&lose phoney scam auctions out there in internet land.

I agree, this site uses bots or have people up the bids for them! I was feeling frustrated with one auction so I just looked at the others, and guess what! The same few people were bidding on like 10 different auctions at the same time over and over again! They must have bought 1,000s of bids or they're bots. Also, I've noticed several auctions have the "bot" bid right after the other person bids. I've wasted money here and totally agree it's NOT WORTH IT!

First, I know for a fact Haggle.com isn't a scam. That does NOT make it a good idea to blow your money here. It's a Seattle area company and I know a few people who work there. I don't think they have to scam people, because people are signing up to hand money over to them even though they have to know they're not getting the great deal they think they are.

Seriously, they sell "bids" and then make it almost impossible to win anything. How much money in bids will you spend to "win" the chance to buy something at less than retail? I bet if the "winners" added the cost of their bids to the cost of their items, most would see they'd have come out ahead just buying whatever it is in the first place. And for the rest of the people who buy bids and never win? They're out that money.

Just buy the stuff retail. I can't see this site lasting for long, not when it costs so much just for the chance to sit at your computer for hours for the chance to buy something.

THIS SITE IS NOT A SCAM BUT AN INGENIOUS HUSTLE. AFTER READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS I DECIDED TO SIGN IN FOR THE FREE BIDS. YOU GET ONLY ONE! SO I DECIDED TO USE SOME STRATEGY AND BID ON ITEMS WHERE THE DISCOUNT WOULD BE FAR LESS THAN THE 90% SAVING THE SITE ADVERTISES. I FIGURE IF I WIN I WOULDN'T MIND SPENDING 120.00 PLUS ON A PSP GO. BUT I REALIZED THAT IT WOULD BE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN. SOMEONE WHO IS AGGRESSIVE WON'T GIVE UP THAT EASILY, HOW CAN THEY IF THEY INVESTED SO MUCH TIME AND MONEY. SO IF I USE THAT ONE BID I WOULD BE OUT BIDDED. AND FOR THOSE COMING IN LATE, JACKING UP THE PRICE, UR BETTER OFF BUYING IT SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE THE PRICE WOULD ALREADY BE HIGH PLUS YOU SPEND MONEY ON THE BIDS. THE ONLY WAY I SEE SOMEONE WINNING IS IF THEY HAVE THE "I DON'T GIVE A FU(K" ATTITUDE AND SCARE EVERYONE OFF. THE PSP GO I WAS LOOKING AT IS STILL BEING BID ON, ITS BEEN HOURSSS. FINALLY, HOW CAN YOU BUY BIDS TO BID ON BIDS? I TOLD YOU, GREAT HUSTLE.

This website is a SCAM!
December 23, 2009

This website is a SCAM! I was very excited at first and then realized that the SAME people are bidding 24 hours a day on the same items I am bidding on - I personally believe they are employees who are jacking up the price or the site itself has automated bidders to jack up the price. I got taken and have learned my lesson. I see a few people have said on here that they "won" several auctions however perhaps they also work for the site and need some "good" reviews. The overall majority of reviews of Haggle.com say SCAM so my guess is, if you have 90% saying SCAM and 10% saying "I won" - I would probably stick with the majority of reviews... Sorry to those that got taken like me, live and learn...

This website is a scam, please be aware. I sitting in front of a computer watching a bid for PS3, I saw a user bid on this item more than 200 time, every single user will got outbid by him and the final price is > 150, how much he is spending on the PS3, do the math: 200*0.6+150 = $270 (at least) and spending more than 3 hours, who is going to do this.

I have broken just about even. I have won an ipod touch and a wii game. I attempted to watch and learn after my first few bids were ineffectively spent. I noticed the same people winning over and over. I noticed one or two will get into a bidding war and I did this once and lost. As a another person has noted it seems some have limitless bids. I have noticed some of these that win over and over get the "haggle bids" as slightly lower than cost and go on bidding. These people may be ligit. Others bid up to a certain point and leave... and while the item is less than cost... once you add in the cost to buy bids and then the cost of the item... you are lucky to break even. They have come up with some new rules... but what good are rules if they are not enforced? I like others have spent some time watching... Most keep the winning to five a day... can't say about the maximum per month.
Overall, be extremely cautious with this site. I know there is a learning curve-but it can become very expensive, very fast, and frustrating.

So after spending close to $100 on bids, I realized that this site is obviously plagued by either scandal, ripoff artists, or a combination of them. Here's what I see, this site is either using an automated engine to continually drive up the bid count on items, or they truly have people that sit at their computers for days on end dropping hundreds of bids on items they then turn around and sell on eBay or something of the like. You see, I first went to this site with the hopes of replacing something that was stolen from me. It's X-mas time, so money is tight and I really didn't want to pay full price for something I've already paid for, so I thought I'd give it a shot. As so many other people have stated, there are seriously a couple dozen usernames that seem to have limitless bids and time. For giggles, I watched a couple items over and over to see how they worked and noted that the same username was bidding on similar items during about an 18 hour period. Is there really someone sitting there bidding for 18+ hours out of the day? Doubt it, sounds like automation (As I know another reviewer noted). In the end I will probably never use this site again. It's a huge waste of time and money. You may get lucky, but watch the trap. You buy a few bids, bid on an item, then when you run out of bids you pyschologically tell yourself you can't quite now, you'll have wasted that money, so you buy more bids. It's a trap I tell ya!

I saw the advertisement on facebook. So, I clicked on it. I was amazed at how all the items won, the buyer saved 50 to 95% of its worth. So, I brought haggle bids. I was analyzing the bidding process. And I saw that most of the items, the bidders were being agressive claiming their item mine. Then I began to bid on a navigator. I was aggressive and put a stamp on it. After winning the item at $28.00, $7.00 in bids and $11.50 shipping fee, it was a good deal. It took up half of my day if not more. I got it within 7 days. The box wasnt shrink wrapped. But it appears new. I brought another set of bids, and tried getting the most sought after item, the Ipod Touch. I spent all of my bids $108 of it and spent most of my day trying to get it. At that moment, I felt disgusted and pissed. Ebay it way better. I might go back to haggle after the holidays. Good luck people.
