Simple process, user frendly
I chatted with a customer service, Bethany and received follow up emails giving specific instructions on how to receive my shipment, Heather Moore. My questions were answered and that was really helpful.
After shopping around to decide what to line my home workshop with, I decided on Great Mats Hidden Lock Slate Floor Tiles (Slate Top Lt. Gray and Tan). Customer service was knowledgeable and did a great job answering my questions even being able to send samples.
The PVC tiles allowed me to create a custom and cool pattern on my shop floor. The tile 'slate' texture looks great too. The color is solid all the way through. There is no surface faux coating to wear off. The tiles are not hard and plastic-like making them comfortable to walk on while also conforming to the subtle variances in the subfloor. The PVC compound does not wreak like a shower curtain and my shop does not smell like a tire factory as other tiles would have made it. Now I can easily roll my equipment around and vacuum or sweep up equipment shavings and sawdust.
Heavy equipment can leave slight impressions in the malleable PVC material. Equipment with casters or small feet should be supported on a block or something similar.
The ONLY drawback of my new floor was losing the sound dampening of the carpet. No problem. A blanket from my Alma Mater and similar items will fix that. My new floor was definitely worth the investment to make it easy to wheel equipment around and make clean up a few minutes instead of a few hours vacuuming shavings out of the carpet.
