I think Grammarly is a great website. And I like that you can have a free account for it. But I hate that Grammarly isn't on everything that is google. Also, Grammarly should have their premium be free or get a free trial for Grammarly. So in my words, it is useful but needs a few things to be worked out.

I have been using Grammarly for several years, with the premium version. But in 2021 they made the conscious decision to stop supporting the Microsoft Word Add-In and to switch to a windows app that works externally. This has been clunky at best and IT DOES NOT PERFORM THE PLAGIARISM checks. You now need to paste 60 pages at a time into the browser to undertake a plagiarism check. Its too slow and definitely not what I paid a years subscription for. I tried to cancel because of the change and they were totally unhelpful. Time for a different approach!
EDIT: They tried to contact me to make it look like they still had the add-in but failed to properly acknowledge that the add-in says its unsupported, not being updated and has been discontinued per their support page. Either customer service are out of the loop or they just don't want to acknowledge that they've deleted a star product.

Grammarly is great, but it can be annoying sometimes. I write in both French and English, and it tries to correct certain French words. I believe there should be an option for French. The premium suggestion are difficult to get rid of as well. But overall, Grammarly is very helpful.

Recently, we introduced a change in the way the Grammarly browser extension works with non-English text.
However, if Grammarly still checks non-English text, you can deactivate it on websites where you normally type in any other language but English. If this option works for you, please check this article:

At this time, Grammarly analyzes only English spelling, grammar, punctuation, style. It's possible that someday we may expand into other languages, but we're focusing all our efforts on building product offerings that support anyone and everyone communicating in English.
