The owner of GPLDownloads.com revoked my membership days after I purchased a 6 month service. The website owner was reluctant to explain the reason for the decision, but later said that my downloads were too high and some other nonsense. Well, I resubscribed, but to a monthly membership this time and am doing the same downloads as I did before and have had this for much longer than with the 6 month membership, but unsure for how much longer, maybe the owner will cancel right after a monthly fee is debited. I know that resubscribing is against the rules, but a few things, the owner did not supply with the agreed and expected service on the 6 month membership so this one is on GPL Downloads, secondly, if the owner of the website had such an algorithm as claimed that monitors downloads and activity, why didnt this pick up on the downloads on the monthly membership, because said algorithm does not exist. It's all the excuses that you have to get used to with GPL Downloads and the excuses of owner of the website. Also the owner claims the website is for people their real name details, well the owner is so invisible, and does not reveal their full real name anywhere on the website.

I would also like to mention that the owner of the website also is unable to take any negative criticism, which I suspect is the actual reason for why my original account was revoked and something in the forum that the owner did not like, even though it was true and what I did was justified, and not even a big deal anway. If you have a look at the positive GPL Downloads reviews, they are all talking positive about the owner of the website like he has a god complex or something.

In one of the public reviews of GPL Downloads the owner of the website has a title that they are not the other variants of the domain that are similar, and also in the description, claims to be the original and that you get scammed if you use one of the other websites. This is just shifting the blame, like everything GPL Downloads does.

If you post a negative review, everyone is labelled as a competitor, yet no proof is ever provided, it's just an easy way to shift the blame. Sometimes GPL Downloads claims that the negative review was mistakenly left for a competitor, yet thanks a positive review that was meant for a competitor, and will also claim to be an ethical GPL site. It is not ethical to to knowingly take credit for your competitor's positive review. It seems that anyone purchasing a 6 month or a one year membership can be called a competitor as its not a practical membership and does not appear to exist, unless maybe that you praise the god owner of the website.

GPL Downloads claims that there were problems with PayPal, but they actually got banned as a result of a number of customer complaints, this is another excuse they use to shift the blame.

At GPL Downloads it is always some one elses fault.

Also a tip for anyone considering joining, dont do it, also note that any pre sales questions are total lies and nonsense.

On the first look, this site looks great. It seems to have a ton of different plugins and the annual fee is low.

Let's make this quick. The fee is low because the owner of the site does not care. Plugins are up to a few versions behind and you receive popular plugins with instruction on how to hack them.

Basically, you pay for nothing. If you want to hack software, you can just go to the dark web and get this "service" for free.

The site owner mentions this as the reason that you have to hack your plugins. It's pretty nonsensical as you have to trust a vendor because you have no idea if a file has been altered or not.

An all GPL sites (besides this one) give you working plugins. Once you notice you paid for nothing, you will not get a refund.

GPL Downloads does not offer support, pay programmers or own any staff. The very nature of a GPL site is to offer working plugins. And to update them timely.

In this "easy money" field, you will find some scammers. Sadly, at the point when I fell for this site, there was no honest review available.

GPL Downloads cancelled my account soon after I signed up with no explanation, did not respond to my tickets, so had to call the office in the UK where i spoke to Stuart Boyle, where he was hostile, shouted at me and said that i should read the user agreement that I agreed to, and that my account was permanently cancelled as i breached the agreement. This is totally false, I didnt do anything wrong. I also recommended a friend to GPL downloads who also signed up and had a very similar cancellation of their account. This is a fraud and its no surprise why they stopped accepting paypal payments, so they can cancel peoples accounts while taking their money without having to deal with refunds. Avoid doing business with GPL downloads, they will just take your money.
