Glassdoor cannot be trusted. The company removes critical reviews if the employer is an 'engaged' (paying) company. I have been an employee at my company and in good standing for 3 years now, I have only one Glassdoor account, and I wrote a very professional but honest review. I tried to shed light on the company's state of disarray without naming names or revealing competitive info. The review was accepted, but then I received an email 24 hours later stating it was removed due to a violation of guidelines, such as pretending to be someone I'm not, lying about my association with the company, etc. Of course I wrote a 5-star review for the company years ago (which I since removed since it no longer holds true), but my identity / legitimacy was never questioned then. I have challenged Glassdoor to provide documentation of my suspected offense, but no response other than more copy/paste of their guidelines. Such a shame that they are preventing the democratization of information availability for job seekers through their controlling tactics.
Our CEO was named in a review and was called "dishonest" by a toxic employee who was jealous and unprofessional (when she quit, she dramatically said she was going to sue the company, the CEO will "pay" and proceeded to cuss her colleagues out). Somehow, the employee forgot to take accountability for her terrible behavior during her time with the organization. Some of our employees tried to go online and counter this person's claims, but their reviews were erased or never posted. Truth is, Glassdoor makes money based on people's propensity for gossip, regardless of accuracy. The CEO who is no longer at the company lost a job opportunity due to the review, which is a terrible outcome, and not her fault. Where's the protection against emotionally troubled and vindictive former employees? Nope to Glassdoor, who is going downhill anyhow. Glassdoor's credibility as a company has diminished because they don't know how to solve this problem. Not all negative reviews are true and not all positive reviews are true. So what do you have? Nothing, they cancel each other out and you are left with a flaming dumpster job website.
Unfortunately we paid with debit card so our $103 weekly budget wasn't delivered due to system crash yesterday and guess what,?
Instead of delivering our paid in full purchase the following day they cancelled the order and made us reorder yet problem is our $103 is now gone for the next 7 days until it is reimbursed. So now we run out in the morning and cant place order since Grassdoor hasn't figured out how to use software that delivers the following day.
I honestly love Grassdoor most of the time yet there's no excuse for this cluster@#%!
Money doesn't grow on everyone's trees and Grassdoor has essentially withheld our money and refused to deliver product the following day.
Please upgrade to a more modern ecommerce software so our $103 never gets withheld for up to 7 days again
The website deletes real reviews because some HR from a drowning company because of a lack of interpersonal skills and insecurity reports real reviews. What a disappointment.
In addition to totally SUCKING, pitching me the same jobs i already applied for, and jobs im not qualified for, Glassdoor also LOVES to DEVALUE ALL APPLICANTS with their salary scale. I know what lead design positions, art director, 3D modeler, concept artists make salary wise in a game company. ALL OF THEIR LISTED SALARIES ARE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LOW. Even the one company i applied to and got a phone interview with said glassdoor does that, and that they actually pay the RIGHT amount, and to ignore what Glassdoor had put up. Sounds like theyre trying to scam people.
If you are a jobseeker and sign up for glassdoor, they will literally email you spam daily nonstop until you forcefully delete your whole account. The unsubscribe button at the bottom of their emails does absolutely nothing. You have to delete your entire account just to get the junk emails to stop. Also it would seem this site does some scummy practices like allow businesses to pay to delete their bad reviews, as pointed out by other commenters. Just avoid glassdoor altogether. Its a whole heaping pile of junk.
Absolutely USELESS website- you cannot do one thing without disclosing all of your personal information including where you currently work, what your job title is and your current salary. Popups, email ads, this website and the people who run it are complete GARBAGE. Save your time and go to LITERALLY ANY OTHER WEBSITE.
Glassdoor does not vet people who claim to be employees and leave reviews. That is the biggest issue. After never checking for years, we were surprised to see strange reviews on Glassdoor about our company. Some were just written badly and didn't even reflect positions that were in the company. Being naive, we spoke to consultants who aimed to improve these reviews or remove bad reviews for a fee, and guess what - the reviews got worse. Then these consultants would email us about how bad our rating was, presumably to prompt us to hire them to improve our rating. Glassdoor has no transparency and no means of addressing these issues. It's a vicious circle and cycle. Avoid and ignore.
Glossdoor.com is a total FRAUD site. Do not enter information about yourself or your company. That information is being farmed and you are potentially going to be scammed. Beware!
This website is awfull and it´s full of hatefull and misleading informations.
Several companies are affected by bad reviews by anonymous users that are sometimes their competitors.
Don´t trust on this big pile of web trash!
Title explains it all. You can't use the site unless you contribute. You can't even look at job openings...
They also delete reviews that companies complain about.
Glassdoor is basically a site for former employees to hammer their employer. In my case, have inaccurate "statistics" that are easily verifiable from several public sources. Then they try to monetize the removal or mediation of these comments. Not impressed.
Do they post jobs and help some people get hired? Sure. But they require so much information about your current or previous work that it's honestly just a front to get data that might otherwise be hard to get.
NOT TRUSTWORTHY! I have been using Glassdoor.com for about 6 months. I am a national Award-winning marketing professional and I have not seen good results with this job board. Also, they do not want people to post negative reviews about employers or interviews even when written in a factual and respectful manner. I posted 2 reviews about recent interviews with all the facts and they did not want to approve them. Both companies were unprofessional. The managers were not prepared for the interviews. One was late and had not even read my resume for the 2nd interview. Do not trust Glassdoor.com. They are trying to protect employers, not job seekers. They are not a reputable company.
It has come to my attention that Glassdoor does not fact check any reviews by stating "It is a reflection of the reviewer's experience" Reviews are not storytelling time they should reflect a true reflection of someone's experience. Of course, it is likely that when an employee doesn't carry out their responsibilities and they are let go they would retaliate to damage the company's image. We received a negative review and offered Glassdoor to provide documents to prove the review is not factual, in addition, we offered them to speak with all of our employees. They declined
If you want to be taken seriously as a review platform it is your duty to make sure reviews are genuine otherwise you are just a place for people to write whatever they like.
Very disappointed.
After numerous customer support requests to make an amendment of my company review i received ZERO response! Therefore, i had to remove my review and write a new one.
After a few days my new review was removed without any notification. Only after i enquired as to why the review was removed, i received a response (which looked like an automated one) saying that a person can not leave two reviews for the same company within one year time. I had to explain that i did not leave a second review, but simply rewrote my initial review. In response to that I received (what looked like an automated response once again) a list of absolutely irrelevant violations that caused my review to be removed. My requested clarification on those violations is being successfully ignored ones again by Raquel Mia, Glassdoor Content & Community Team.
This is a joke, right? It's not April? "Your trust is our top concern, so companies can't alter or remove reviews." -The Father of Lies, aka Satan. Apparently Glassdoor can arbitrarily.
What's the point. I'm a registered user and I can't move forward until I do a review? On what. So you want me to make something up? I'm looking for information but the site tells me I can't move on until I write something. It's stupid and pointless.
I thought for a while that Glassdoor offers good perspective about an employer's culture and other relevant information. Unfortunately, I found that Glassdoor removed my review after it was posted for a month and replaced it with a glowing HR review.
Then I digged in a bit more just to find out that more bad reviews about my previous employer were removed from Glassdoor. Glassdoor is a corrupt company.
I do not trust Glassdoor anymore for any information as they are manipulating employers' reviews. I will do my research about a company in a different way to find what I need about an employer and its culture.
Answer: When a company gets negative reviews, glassdoor contacts them and uses the negative review as leverage to get the company to sign up for a subscription with glassdoor. They pretty much tell the company that if they take out a subscription the bad reviews will be removed
