I purchased three Funko Mandolorian boxes since they had the B2G1 offer. Paid 29.99 per box. Went home, my kid opened the boxes with pure excitement. I went on gamestop.com too get more and noticed the price was 16.99 per box. I reached out to gamestop corporate. They took 48hrs to reply and only did so after a follow up email. In a few words, corporate does not price match. Nore did they attempt to satisfy the customer. I went to a different GS store and explained what had transpired to the manager showing a photo of my receipt and the website price. He asked if the website stated that it was an online price. I showed him and it was not. He preceded to tell me that corporate is horrible and will never give money back once they already have it. I was not seeking a refund, I wanted the credit to go towards more boxes. Unfortunately, GameStop does not value its customers. They will be another brick and mortar that shutters in the years to come.
I bought two gifts cards off of the game stop website because i wasnt able to buy them in the store, so i bought them online and when i went to redeem them, they were already used and my son was upset that he couldnt get the game that he wanted and i am now out $70. I messaged them and they wont help me and i also messaged steam and they wont help me even though i had proof of the times and the orders and when they were redeemed, and it saying that they were already used. I will never be buying anything from game stop or steam again. I have closed my accounts and will be leaving a review like this on steam as well. This is total bull that no one will help me when they said they would and that they could.
Want to share my experience with the purchase of Nintendo Switch OLED at GameStop. This is an upgrade worth considering for any Nintendo fan. The OLED screen is a noticeable improvement, making gaming experience more immersive and colorful. The redesigned audio also improves gameplay. However, battery life could be better, as it drains pretty quickly. Ordering from GameStop's website was simple and fast. Delivery was prompt, and the product arrived safe and sound.
There is no point in pre-ordering items online if you 1. Do not get it on Game day and 2. HAVE TO PICK UP THE BONUS IN PERSON! (There is no pre-order bonus saved for you at any random Gamestop Cause why would there be?)
I've been a lifelong customer of Gamestop. I pre-ordered Tears of the Kingdom from that store because of the pre-order bonus that was promised to customers. They ran out before the launch night crowd was taken care of, let alone people that needed to wait until the next day to get to the store. That wouldn't be that big of a deal except that when I asked about the bonus, the employee told me that I'm out of luck. That the whole reason I pre-ordered from the store was made moot by their "while supplies last" fine print. Fine, well, can I be put on a list to receive one when more are made? Nope, no list.
No longer will I buy or pre-order from them if they can't adhere to the promises that were made. And I will discourage all my friends from ever using their store.
I can't believe it! I put down my deposit on March 29th for the Nintenco Switch OLED Model The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition console to make sure I could get one for my son's birthday. The consoles came in at the end of April and NO ONE from Gamestop notified me they were in, not even an automated email or text although they have all my information as I am (WAS!) a PRO customer with an active PRO card. In fact, the store clerk talked me in to renewing my PRO card so I could get discounts when I picked up the console.
Then 48 hours later THEY SOLD MY CONSOLE to someone else. Hey Gamestop, here's a thought, maybe before you sell a good customer's reserved and paid for game console, YOU MIGHT WANT TO NOTIFY THEM IT ARRIVED AND COULD BE PICKED UP! No wonder the market thinks Gamestop is going out of business. I ended up buying it through Best Buy, which is where I will buy all my gaming products in the future.
I ordered a game from Amazon, and after a month delay in the release; they quoted me a release date over a week after the stated launch day for the game. That was unacceptable to me, so I canceled my preorder, and went looking for another game store that could help me get the game on time.
I found GameStop, and was assured that they had the game available, and it would be released and shipped on time. That if I had it delivered from the local store, id likely get it the next day.
So I placed the order.
The day came, and they said they had shipped it. I went looking online to confirm it, but the shipping company said they had not received it. Only the pre-shippment info. I ordered it from an Oregon store. They were trying to ship it from Texas!
When I contacted them complaining of the lie, and the attempt to ship from Texas, they gave me the run around. When I tried to cancel it, so I could just download it without the bonus; they refused. Saying it would take 48 hours for any attempt. And it wasn't guaranteed even then.
I told them they would lose my buisness if it was not in the mail as they claimed, and here when quoted. Even warned them I would leave negative reviews of they failed to uphold their end of the agreement. It was neither. They still gave me the run around. When I tried to remedy the issue, I was transferred to several different people. One for each attempted email. Each giving me the run around. Even though I told them delays, lies, and excuses would not be accepted.
As it stands the game will be over a week late. And I have had it with their lies and run around.
If you have anything thats time sensitive, or you need decent costumer service, avoid GameStop. They do not respect their customers, or their customers time.
They will give you the run around, hold your money hostage, lie to you about it, and tell you to have a great day.
They are a disgrace to what good game stores use to be. Shame on them!
I'm never ordering from them again. I'd suggest for your own sanity, and wellbeing that you look elsewhere too.
I bought a digital gift card online. I waited and waited for it to get delivered. Finally I got an email saying my order was canceled! I checked my credit card and sure enough they had taken my money! Still waiting for it to be returned. Now I have to wait god knows how long to get the money back so I can purchase elsewhere.
Brutal.
They did nothing about three months of game informer that I paid for and did not receive and had piss poor attitudes and said nobody wants to work for GameStop
Don't bother ever preordering from this company online. They won't get it to you for at least a week or two after its release which completely eliminates the need to pre order as the store will probably have what you need or just goto bestbuy as they will be on time at least. Customer service is awful too, they are almost as bad as talking to an AI chat bot which honestly may have been better and easier to deal with.
I went to GameStop (LaSalle) with a damaged (white) ps5 controller. Traded it in for a (black) ps5 controller. Got the credit + my debit card to buy it. The cashier said we have to order it online for you, we're sold out in-store. She placed the order and gave me a receipt. When I got home I received an email from GameStop. It said order cancelled. I called GameStop the next day. They told me the store cashier did not process my order within 4hrs. So it cancelled out. You should receive your refund within 7-10 biz. Days. 11days later I called GameStop to check on my refund. I was on the phone for 2hrs for them to tell me the cashier put my credit+ debit payment on a gift card and made the purchase online. When it got cancelled it went back to the gift card. I explained that { I never even held the gift card, the cashier did the whole process}. Costumer service told me to go back to the store I started at. I did (frustratingly) Just for them to tell me call costumer service. So I did while in the store. This time they said they will get the district manager involved. They apologize to me then told me I would receive a gift card in 3 -5 biz days. So I left the store (frustratingly) after 1hr. 5 days later I called GameStop again to check on my gift card. They tell me there was an issue processing my gift card. So this time he said "I'll do it the right way" now I have to wait 3-5 biz days again. Hopefully it comes. I walked in GameStop stop LaSalle originally on 3/19. It is now 4/2. I'm still waiting for this to be resolved... ps. I ended up buying the Black ps5 controller at Walmart

When I went there the Employees were very nice and the prices were good and most of the things were in great condition, the only thing I do not like is their lack of specific things such as CTR and certain amiibos.
GameStop sells advertised new Xbox games and instead sends opened clearance items. On new unopened games, they say they are returnable to stores, but the stores are not able to refund back as items are purchased on PayPal credit. When I went to a local store to get refunded for the new but opened games and the sealed new game, the clerk called the manager, who said OK to issue the refunds on my three items, until the clerk called back and told they were purchased with PayPal credit, for which the returns and refunds were then denied by the manager of the local store. When I called customer service, the agent said the computer was slow and after waiting about ten minutes, he hung up on me.
This company is a bunch of scammers and should be shut down. They price gouge by raising prices on merchandise that was cheaper a year ago because it's old to now its price as new and also they give you very low for trade in value and then resell for 4 times the amount. When you question it they tell you they have no control over these issues
I purchased a gift certificate for my Grandson on 02/06/23 for his Birthday which was 02/08/23. I was told it would be delivered in 24 hours well it's 02/09/23 and it still has not hit my daughters email. I've tried to cancel my order but the site says "an error has occurred". I've now been on hold for 20 minutes. I will NEVER order ANYTHING from this company again! It is EXTREMELY frustrating!
I ordered a Xbox with game pass bundle. I was told it would ship in 2-4 days from ordering. I waited 4 business days Thursday -Tuesday. They didn't ship it yet, however was told it would arrive on Thursday Feb 2 which is 8 days after ordering. Turns out it was shipped 8 days after ordering. When I called them, I had to wait over an hour just to speak with someone who can't speak English very well. The lady never really addressed my questions. I asked to cancel my order, but order still shows as in progress after talking to her. I still don't know if my Xbox is still coming or if it actually got canceled. Then FedEx finally shows the Xbox moving as of today 2-2-23 in the late afternoon and it's delayed in Arlington Texas due to weather. I guess now all I can do is see if it shows up or not, and if they actually canceled my order and returned my money. When checking out GameStop order confirmation says my total was $529.99. When I got my statement from Citizens bank it shows $890.15 because apparently GameStop fails to list that extra $360.16 that you end up paying for ultimate game pass. Now that I understand, I'm okay with it. It would be nice to see that total in your order confirmation so your not shocked when you get your statement.
Took 45 minutes the 1st time calling to make a change to my account and the agent never credited my account after all that wait. 3.more times calling and still waiting to talk to someone after hours of hold time. What a joke and scam to rake people's money and then when u have a problem they just avoid u
