It's the only site I know of that comes closest to a free speech platform. Many do not like it cuz it has many jew haters and racists among it's users. But you can express what you like there. The problem with gab is that the admins are technically challenged and cannot run a website without constant freezes, pages that do not load, redirects to pages u did not ask for to sell u something. There are some indications that posts are being delayed due to moderator approval which is not entirely consistent with the pledge of free speech. Also replies to posts are either inoperative or are not threaded properly. Their servers/connection/coding is SLOW and cumbersome.

I met a stalker on gab hes been stalking me for 3 months i made a report to torba/gab n what did Andrew do bann me instead of my stalker that im really in fear of ive been trying 3 months to get this stalker to leave me alone we met on gab n hes sending porn to my email almost 20 a day. Andrew Torba or any of gab followers WOULD NOT help me

With the recent changes they're doing on gab, I can't use it because I'm not a developer and they haven't given us old members advice on how to go about using the new network.

I still have a few months remaining on my subscription as a pro member so therefore I would like a refund but I don't know how I can communicate with them.

I don't really know if gab or the old gab was a free speech platform because like some of the commenters here, I suspected I was shadow banned. I'm speaking here as someone who seldom posted comments on the old gab. Maybe it's not Torba who personally instructed his programmers to ban people maybe it's an independent decision of the programmer to cause mischief.

If gab won't refund then gab would be called another scam on the internet.

I have been a premium member of Gab for a few years now and I can tell you in the age of digital censorship, a decent sized web platform which provides an avenue to unrestricted free speech is a rare thing indeed.
Most of us are aware the force exerted upon anything which doesn't tow the widening politically correct narrative is so excessive it can damage reputations, end careers, end relationships and break up families. In retaliation Gab has provided a level of anonymity while allowing for free expression, this is good and something we should welcome.
The commenters here who reference "hate speech" are the same ones who want to restrict free speech. These people are anathema to freedom itself.

Remember the saying: "I don't agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Long live free speech.

The platform is a cesspool of hate. It is where anyone who feels victimized goes to complain.

OK, we'll start with the good. Pretty good about free speech. Me and my group of close pals can be pretty rough and none of us has ever been reprimanded. In my wider circle some have be banned, but again what we say on a daily basis would never fly on Facebook or Twitter.
If you're touchy about certain subjects or do not like your beliefs questioned, or love being in the echo chamber, you have the option to mute or block people, so they can never comment on your stuff and you will never see anything they write (a feature I think they put in to attract Alex Jones and ppl like that to the platform, since they do not like to be challenged.
Unfortunately, the platform itself has lots of trouble. Most days it takes several tries to connect, sometimes losing connection several times a day. Sometimes it'll be offline for whole days.
The way the conversations unfold are very confusing. Twitter is far superior on that score.
Also, in terms of the privacy issue: There was a shooting that involved a guy who was a Gab user (who also used Twitter and others), and Gab was happy to hand over everything to investigators without warrants or anything, many people who were in no way involved with the crime ended up being visited by the FBI.
So user beware.

Beware: Joined Gab & slowly was put into a shadow ban situation surrounded by Liberal shills/ trolls pretending to be "doubting" Trump supporters. Gab is a haven for Liberal shills & a trap echo chamber for Conservatives. Don't be fooled by this fake Free speech forum that is designed to act as an "option" to Twitter. Torba is a fake Conservative, a Neocon. He speaks frequently on the site, which is unusual for a CEO, & his comments are in line with the Liberal shills on Gab who's comments try to undermine real Trump supporters. Not to mention all the anti-Semitism being generated by these FAKE Trump supporters. Here's the Con, boot a Conservative from Twitter & hope they find their way to their prison camp, (echo chamber) which is GAB.

I've been on GAB now for awhile. Are there Racist comments? Absolutely! I've also been on Twitter Are their Racist comments there? ABSOLUTELY!

So what's the difference? The difference is this. Im a big boy, an adult, I live in the USA and I don't need Twitter or anyone else CENSORING WHAT I CAN SEE. Unlike Twitter who enforces what your Permited to SEE, SAY AND THINK ABOUT. Gab does not censor these comments, it's up to the user to censor them. ITS THE USERS CHOICE. It's what you feel, not some unknown person trying to force their world view upon you.
It's a lil thing called FREE SPEECH, A lil something our framers thought might be important. So important it's the First Amendment!
Just something for all you censorship advocates to think about.

I recently joined Gab after being shadowbanned and then thrown in Twitter jail for 12 hours, and my first log in experience set the tone for this app and why I'm rating a 2. When checking out my new social media app I began with some commenting, nothing major just some simple facts. Immediately I was bombarded with a ton of very horrible comments from very far right extremists. I was called a commie and a kike loving slag for commending a black man who told his story about "walking away". I was then followed by these people and was unable to ban them from following me, I could only mute them. That was one feature I did not like at all. I don't want to be connected to people like that in any way! I sucked it up for about a month then I was having trouble with my account and something about invalid credentials so I reached out several times to the admins for help and never got a response. I quickly realized that even people with the same ideology as myself would attack and berate me if I dared to disagree with them... and these were so called conservatives! I left twitter due to censorship and now I've left Gab due to no monitoring at all. Gab is a host for far right extremists and porn. It's free speech but I feel it is just another platform for horrible people to bully, harass, and make threats against good, honest, intelligent people who are looking for like minded friends or for healthy debate. To each their own but I wouldn't recommend Gab unless you just want to fight and argue.

Just editing to add that Gab.ai is no more. As of September 2018 the site is now Gab.Com

I have been on Gab 10 months as a Pro (paid) user, but I wont be renewing my subscription. During my time on Gab I get the distinct impression that Andrew Torba CEO is highly embarrassed by his far right user base & since about May 2018 he is trying (& succeeding) to turn Gab liberal. There is even talk of shadow banning from some of (what were) top popular posters. Torba recently said "If you visited Gab 6 months ago & came back today, you would see an entirely different site" & he is very correct with this. 6 months ago in "popular" you would see edgy breaking news, conservative people, & some great memes, but today all you see if you click "popular" is sunrise pictures wishing everyone a good morning, Alex Jones, puppies, kittens & inane posts from Torba's own family (Torba family is in the "who to follow" section too.) There is also the irritating constant changes to the site itself, as Torba transforms it for liberals to keep "start-engine" happy, even going as far as to remove the frog logo.
I would advise anyone considering a Gab Pro subscription, to think again because the features are very limited for the high cost, & you can not get verified unless you are an e-celebrity on twitter, facebook or other mainstream social media.
Another problem is how the site is currently set up, in that there are no organic trending topics, just bland sections to post in, almost like an old message forum. You can set up your own topic but these (under more) rarely get more than a dozen posts & are often filled with porn & spam, which is not removed. There is also an issue with bots & blank empty posts getting 1,000 upvotes (?) & what appears to be an algorithm glitch as popular posts get buried.
So far Gab.ai Inc has raised almost $6 million, & it needs to invest in a decent IT team, because presently the way things are working, people will grow bored, frustrated & leave. The concept of free speech is a wonderful idea but Torba is sacrificing this to appeal to SJW progressives. It's sad to say that over the time I have been on there some of the most dynamic & excellent Gabbers have left or been banned.
I have rated gab at a 2, honestly from a slightly right of centre classic conservative opinion. But also for Gab's technical failings. However, if you are liberal you may want to give Gab a go, because that is the direction it's heading in. Good Luck!
