Gab claims to NOT censor free speech but they do... White supremacy sympathizer company!
Gab will threaten your account when white supremacists are harassing berating and threatening you. They also openly ALLOW promotions of Nazi gatherings and are in full support of Nazi related materials. Gabis a dump of emotionally insecure lil Nazi wanna be's. Gab allows hate speech of minority groups but retaliates if you mention white supremacy or Nazi's using threat intimidation and more to try to "keep you in Hitler's lines of delusion". Gab sucks... NOT worth the upgrade $$ and will malfunction often while using it. Horrible company and has no value to offer anyone other than Nazi's and white supremacists...

Gab claims to be a Christian site that has free speech. It is nothing but a place where the KKK and Anti Semetic people spew their hatred. The owner, Mr. Torba claims to be Christian but spews the same rhetoric. I became so angry that I notified him, but I will not go back. SHAMEFUL!

You will literally get banned from this website faster than twitter. The creator cares about "freedom of speech" when it's speech he agrees with. I got deleted for having an opinion. I didn't spam, I didn't promote violence, I didn't share any inappropriate pictures. I just had an opinion that establishment conservatives don't like. So my account was deactivated.

I signed up for Gab a few months and have been trying for weeks to confirm my email. Out of a dozen attempts on three time did the validation request reach my email and all three times there was a reponse "something is not right". After watch the CEO push his superstition and not seeing hard any posts I deleted my account today.

After finally getting in, I find there are several atheist pages on this site even though the owner claims to be a christrian. Many of the so called christians troll these sites and is normal for the they name call and insult because they cannot back up their comments with evidence or facts,\.

I quit the site yerterday.

I tried it for three months to get away from Twitter. After trying Gab, I had to delete my account. It is as bad as they say it is. Multiple Holocaust-denying groups that have been spewing lies and hate for several years that they have been open. The creators don't care as it is 'free speech'. Free speech is not saying whatever you want, however you want, whenever you want, wherever you want. That is anarchy.

I've been using gab for several months. At first it was slow due to the number of people who were migrating from other platforms. It is now running great as they have beefed up their infrastructure. Free speech for all. They WILL NOT block you unless you are doing something illegal or dangerous. If you don't like something someone posts then you have to block them.

Gab has made some serious improvements! It's the only alternative social media site that actually compares to what you're used to in quality and structure

Made an account to troll the Qultist and it started out fun made my account libtears4lube (follow meeee) hahaha these people had no idea i was trolling them and really thought the crazy $#*! i was saying was "compelling" which gives light to how $#*!ING STUPID the average users are that no one batted an eye to my bat$#*! comments. Anyways the trolling was fun but the website in itself is garbage... Links dont work, comments dont post, notifications wont show up... the site is a hot steamy $#*! but thats probably because no one wants to advertise on their platform and theyre broke... Biden 2020!

I deleted my Facebook account and joined Gab because they claimed they allowed freedom of speech. I am a conservative Trump supporter, my son is named after his black great grandfather. I am not racist, am non-violent, and am a strong Bill of Rights activist. I started a petition in Florida to get the right to RECALL Anti-Constitutional politicians in Florida like Never-Trumper Marco Rubio, who recently proposed a gun confiscation Bill to the Senate, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who kept Islamic spies as IT personnel, and Charlie Crist among others. I broke no laws and made no threats against anyone. I violated no policies of Gab yet it's founder Mark Zuckerberg, excuse me, Andrew Torba banned me. So much for freedom of speech. Just another hypocritical Zuckerberg wannabe that claims he supports Trump and the Bill of Rights, but in Reality only seeks power and profit. There is no integrity in Gab. I seriously doubt Torba is even Christian. He probably just uses that claim to cash in on religious people. He reserves the right to take your money and ban you at his own discretion. Donald Trump would be wise to avoid Gab. I feel Torba would only use him to gain followers and then Zuckerberg his account once he gets them.

Big tech has no control here. Freedom of speech is the main reason it is becoming so popular. Do you want unbiased news? Come here. Thank you Gab!

Paid into it & lost big time. Literally spent 1 week trying to post, gain followers, & follow back. Gab claims they have 30 million followers & soon to increase to 100 million. If they can't handle technical issues with 30 million followers, how the hell are they going to keep the site functioning with 100 million? Don't WASTE your money, TIME, & sense of PEACE!

Gab owners tout how they created a "free speech" platform free from big tech, yet it's only a for-profit, paywalled, fork/clone of Mastodon for right-wingers and fascists. They are duping people for profit, just like Trump. Ask yourself, why would you pay for something when it is already free? Anyone can install Mastodon just like Gab did, with little to no programming experience. This is why they currently can't scale, yet blame it on "sophisticated attacks" from "Big Tech". Fact is, Gab has not built anything. If people want freedom, the solution is not to rely on another centralized system that is easily scraped and CAN be shutdown.

While Gab claims they are free from "Big Tech," they currently use Cloudflare, a Silicon Valley DNS proxy and DDoS mitigation service. They have banned numerous similar sites to Gab and will most likely shutdown Gab in the near future. Those sophisticated attacks? Easily blocked or rate limited. Their real issue is most likely that they have no real data center with redundant fiber drops and Tier 1 bandwidth and simply begging for Bitcoin.

Their web browser? Just another clone/fork of another project others developed, better known as Brave. They are literally just rebranding popular open source technology developed by others and grifting the unintelligent.

As "ThatOldLibOnGab" I was a Gab member from just after the November 2020 election until January 6,2021. I made numerous quality posts during that time and many times even received "likes" from conservatives. On my last day I was very critical of the Capital attack in D. C. and suddenly without notice or explanation my account was deactivated ("You don't have permission to view this page" everywhere) and all my Gabs were deleted. The owners of Gab have the right to implement any moderation policy they choose but their claims of "freedom of speech" are blatantly false.

Claims they are about free speech but will block you when they disagree with what you say. This site is full of people who just spew hate and horible ideals

Having recently rejoined Gab in a more active way, I can say that the site is improving at a fast rate.
Gab is perhaps among the most visually appealing of all the social media pages and feels like a mix of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram merged together. This all of course, without the inhibiting so called "rules" of the latter. And in all honesty, without all the mindless "additions" such as instagram stories, or facebook's variety of zero tolerance "fact checking". And do not even get me started on Twitter and their over zealous locking and suspending procedures, to name just a few of their MANY problems.

If you value free speech, freedom of expression and the once variety of thought we had on online platforms, then please support and help lift Gab. This site deserves it and is one of the few to be genuinely taking the fight to big tech.

Oh and by the way, when Gab is labelled as far right or an alt right echo chamber, please consider this, that freedom of speech is for ALL people not just the few. EVERYONE is free to join the site, it is just that some of the certain types that joined, had to find a new platform, after the vast majority were unfairly banned.
To explain further, when the media mention the particular Pittsburgh terrorist attack and targeted Gab because of it, they all conveniently forget that terrorists and all people of ill intent have used the other platforms for similar evil causes. Just a few examples, disgruntled journalist streamed on Youtube and shot his colleagues, plus numerous cases of lone wolf types communicating on Facebook and Twitter, among others. And do we just all forget how Isis and similar dodgy terrorist accounts were all over Twitter, just a couple of years ago, with many still on there now? Why do they get off without criticism, unlike Gab? The answer, they are WAY too powerful and have the market too themselves essentially now.
The media is scared and threatened by Gab, because it effectively over time can break the suffocating stranglehold that the likes of Facebook and Twitter in particular have had. This is just the truth.

Hoping to see further improvements as the site grows and Gab ultimately may be able to force the hands of big tech in the end. This especially, if users switch or leave those platforms in their droves.
Nobody wants to see genuine hatred and acts of war and so on, but guess what? This stuff is banned too on Gab, it is just there are more freedoms, the same freedoms that everyone USED to have before these big tech giants "made it big" and all decided to move the goalposts.

To finish, I would argue further that joining Gab is not only a good way to protest the un-vetted arrogance and dominance of big tech, but also itself is an increasingly adept machine.
Gab looks to be heading in the right direction and will hopefully increase its userbase to rival the big social media pages in the years to come.

For now, to fully enjoy the site, I would suggest going for a Pro Upgrade account and then you can post practically whatever picture or video you like (Pro account limits = pics 50mb, videos 1gb).
So get back to enjoying social media and be part of a genuine discussion, not just a safe space.
The internet, like life, is for everyone and the sooner big tech wakes up and stops mistreating its users, the better.

I joined Gab a year ago as an alternative to Facebook. I soon realised that Gab is not about free speech. It is about a certain type of right-wing, Bible belt, pro-Trumpism spech. People who dare to express an opinion outside this strict worldview are systematically bullied and insulted.
