Horrible site, flooded with unfiltered/unrestricted NSFW, fetish filth, sexualised animals and pornographic material that anyone, including minors can accidentally run into. Browsing with 'safe mode' on does absolutely nothing to hide the NSFW and other vulgar content from view.
If you're a SFW only artist like myself, you're going to find it impossible to get any traction or build an audience there, and I'm not sure why you'd want any association with a site known to willingly host illegal NSFW content/animal abusers anyway.
I've given this site and community several chances over the years, but every time I checked back in I found that things got progressively worse so I ended up voluntarily deleting my account and leaving again. Every time I tried to be active and post my art, everything got completely ignored and I got no engagement on anything no matter how long I was active for or what I posted, so there wasn't any reason for me to stay there and continue bashing my head against the proverbial brick wall, and I don't want anything to do with the absolutely vile NSFW side of the site that's been left to run rampant and unmoderated.
This kind of thing is the reason why furries have a negative reputation, avoid the site at all costs.
(there's way too much uncensored NSFW stuff on the site that I don't think it would be appropriate to post screenshot proof here)
Ever since their partnership with IMVU caved in, this site has been on a downward spiral ever since 2016. Say what you will about the rampant degeneracy of the users of this site - there are plenty of reasons to avoid using this site if you are part of the furry subculture, yet you are forced to do so because this is the one which everyone uses.
The site's infrastructure is permanently locked to using a long since obsolete build of the backend used by DeviantArt circa 2005. This is because the staff never paid the web developer for any of his work and kept fobbing it off, saying IMVU would be covering their fees (which they weren't). After having enough of their backpedalling and getting ghosted for so long, he simply hardlocked the entire site's root access behind a password, then left without telling them what it is. This is why they can't do much else with this site other than edit a.css file every now and again to give it the illusion of actual work being done on the site. Naturally, this leads to certain complications regarding site stability, mainly that it's frequently attacked and taken down by trolls. The most recent attack having took place only a few weeks after the site's founder Dragoneer passed away during the end of August 2024.
The site's moderation and admin team are also chronic virtue signallers and frequently align themselves with the most radically left-wing positions possible. Any dissenting opinion would result in endless harassment and moderation will simply turn a blind eye to it. There are countless examples of pedophile/zoophile content which is morally wrong, except the moderation team also comprises of pedophiles and zoophiles so they conveniently ignore it. They will make rules about involving real world politics in art, yet it is clear with the art that involve things like BLM or pride/progress flags that only a few will be tolerated. They will make arbitrary rules regarding Pokémon, AI or whatever, yet they're very selective of how these rules should be enforced, if at all. It all depends where you land politically, and whether you are stupid enough to give them money for literally no reason.
I'm not sure if I can convince furries to stay away from this site, because let's face it - they could do a lot better for themselves than a deprecated image gallery from two decades ago. If I can though, I would like to say e621.net is way better to use, it has good enough blacklist features to filter out the stuff you won't like, and the moderation team actually does their job properly.
I used to be a member of FurAffinity for over ten years until I finally decided it was time to deactivate and leave it for good.
FurAffinity was once a decent place to be in terms of long time discoverability because of how well everyone can easily remember the name FurAffinity regardless if you are a furry or not, however that is also a conundrum in itself.
Because unless if you are a successful "popüfur" (which is a nickname for being a popular furry, or have a higher audience on some other website to self-promote and advertise your profile), then good luck getting noticed. Because unless if you make fursuits or flooding tons of explicit nsfw works into your gallery for a more perverse audience, nobody really cares who you are on FurAffinity if you don't meet anyone's extremely high and biased expectations.
No matter how hard you try to improve your art, your view counts will always remain low, people rarely bother to comment and favourites are also low.
You'd be better off sticking to DeviantArt if you're that adamant about getting noticed; they offer a groups function that allows you to get your art pushed out into other people's inboxes, regardless if they follow you personally or not, for those watching art groups and you'd have a better chance of exposure on there unlike FurAffinity's way of having a temporary display on the front page before it gets lost in the art portal where it'll be forgotten.
FurAffinity has also frequently known for being targeted under multiple DDoS attacks causing it to shut down temporarily, so if that also isn't a warning sign about how unorganized and outdated this website is then I don't know what is. There was also a rumor they once hired a hacker as one of their admins years ago which also left some damage on the reputation of the types of people they hire on their staff team.
Another thing to include, there has been a lot of creepy stuff coming around FurAffinity. A lot of people have been coming out as either a pedophile and/or have a real life interest in beastiality.
This is by far the worst run site ever it should be permenently removed dont ever get banned from it they will make you wait 5 years then completely ignore you they are a bunch of selfish cancer infested $#*!nuts that need a big belt across the $#*!.
Moderation isn't good,i'm sure there are predators out there, and half the stuff on the site is inappropriate and indecent. I would probably skip this site to find decent art. Go look somewhere else.
Don't bother, you'll get taken advantage of - hard. Full of predators bullying you into free 'requests,' narcissists propaganda spouting woke shils, stick art gets it's knob sucked into heaven and proper art is crapped on...I could go on.
Furaffinity is the definition of clickbait. Originally thinking it was a place to view cool anthropomorphic art, my thoughts forever changed on that. People on furaffinity post fetishes and even y*ff of characters that are widely known as family friendly (Zootopia characters, sonic characters, Pokémon, etc…). This sh-t is one of the biggest reasons why people are throwing hate at the furry fandom; you can't unsee this website once you do see it so just don't view it in the first place!
This is coming from the user Poofplays2020. This site banned me for no reason, even when I tried too get appealed they were rude too me…I was hacked or someone stole my email and your not unbanning me?! That's just crap behavior. And their exact reply was " I have reviewed your appeal and determined that you were penalized appropriately for violating Fur Affinity's community guidelines. I will be taking no further action at this time " how rude can you be? And my email was " Hello! This is the user Poofplays2021...you banned me awhile ago thinking that I was someone else?! I don't know who that is and I did not create another account...you also banned my mum's account (TeamDogPig)...Please unban us...I do not know who that person is ". My email was very nice and explaining how they did wrong and than they replied that crap? If I could give 0 stars, I would. It also has sick images. Don't join this site. Stay away period.
I've been a part of FA since around 2014. I used to love the site, the people and the creativity is amazing, and there are some very incredible artists on there. But you know what makes this review a one star, despite my words? The fetish content. There is an ungodly amount of fetish content on that site, and mods seem to think "it's fine, because there are no actual genitals showing." So you're telling me a woman with unrealistic giant breasts and a butt with visible, hard nipples poking out their shirt, while wearing a diaper and pooping themself covered in gas fumes is perfectly fine for children? Oh, on top of that, most of the mods are PREDATORS. They literally enjoy art of animals and children in sexual themes. And I mean -real- animals, such as "feral" type art, where the anatomy of their genitals are exactly like an animals. It's beyond disturbing. I've tried to look away from it for years, but recently my last straw was when a criminal posted literal CP of REAL children, for HOURS, and the mods didn't do anything about it for HOURS. That was the final straw, the nail in the coffin. It's made hundreds, possibly THOUSANDS of people delete their accounts and leave. It's sad. They just don't care about privacy or safety on that site. You can draw straight up porn of anything and as long as you put a "censor bar" on it, you can slap a GA (general audience, meaning all ages) rating on it and it's "fine." I have no issue with porn, or gay people because apparently some bigot is mad about people having genes on the site? But when it's marked for everyone to see, especially when minors join and use the site frequently, that's when the mods should probably take a step back and look over their methods of taking care of the site. If you are an adult and don't mind randomly seeing weird fetish content while SFW is on, go for it, because the art on there is amazing, and most people are very kind and friendly. It's just... the mods and creeps that ruin everything, but they can be easy to dodge.
My and my friends always had no issues with this site, yet you would find tons of artwork that tags the word "zoophilia" yet, none of them gets removed from the site. Only today when I was about to log into my account, I was greeted with a long message, yet the user they tagged in the post has nothing to do with me or my friends. The username *******@DolphinessNet on Twitter said they got banned from FA, yet they also tag me and some friends, when they try to log into the site, they are given the same thing, and once again, none of us has anything to do with this account on FA or Twitter.
I personally agree with other users that the staff on that site are just troll users and have nothing better to do than randomly ban users for no reason at all, apart from pointing the finger at somebody.
If nobody believes that this site has no content under "zoophilia" then why not make an account and look for yourself, this site has over 1000+ photos of zoophilia photos/gifs/story/text etc and none of them accounts get the ban, why, well because it's art you fu**ing wan*ers!
Luckily for myself, I had a backup account that I rarely use now, though I had to use it to make a post about what just fu**ing happened now! Here is the link to that post https://www.furaffinity.net/view/*******/ Please note, it's for people who are old enough to leave a comment on the post due to FA rules and childish policy!
I just wish somebody would make a new site similar to FA but this time, allow people to upload whatever they want within reason of course and if they upload content you don't allow, then why not warn them and not ban them on the spot, oh, yeah talking about warnings, none of my friends nor myself got a warning and instead, they just ban us all!
I used fa all the time but now these people on fa are jerks I tried to apologize to shiny he didn't apologize and all this fa banned me for no reason why the hell did you block me fa! You guys have no respect for at all and not only that accuse me of harassment well I was try to say sorry but that wasn't enough for you fa community is just horrible I tried contacting them but guess what they say we cannot do that at this time how rude! And disgusting the contact center is just horrible these guys don't want to listen to us we post art cause we love doing art so why the hell are they being mean to everyone fa you are just $#*!s and Jerks who don't care about people feelings let people post their art! And not be judged by you $#*!s fa contact center you guys are evil! I'm not using your f***** site anymore

There's Had A Lot Of Inappropriate Content When you Bowering For Becoming A Furry On The Internet. They Don't Improve On This Website. If You Are A Furry, There's Hard To Avoid On The Internet Browser. Some Of The Images Are Fetish That Moderators Didn't Find But, It's Not Had The Report Button For The Images. I'm Reporting To The Ticket. There's a Don't Reply To My Report Ticket.
I Didn't Wait for This Ticket Without Replied For FA Moderators.
This site has too much NSFW of kid shows and movies and it is not for kids because it has inappropriate content without blocking it.
My experiences on this place are truly degradable. Most staff here are indifferent about members who aren't part of their own little friend circle or highly popular artists among this fandom. Dragoneer did a number on me accusing me of artheft without any proof then decided to delete my entire gallery without ever consulting me about such accusations. I was banned shortly after after expressing my disdain on the matter. I am not the only one who voices such negative treatment from these individuals along with the fact the site seems to suffer from constant problems in staying online. Nowadays there are more sites where you can share your art and not be treated like trash.
I joined FA when I was 15 and I thought it was good, in hopes I was going to meat my friend there, but no! It turned out to be a massive huge piece of crap.
FurAffinity is so $#*!ty and old. It wants to be DeviantART but it can't. It runs like it's 1997. So many crashes when I upload art. It won't take high res art. And if you want to decal your page you better understand HTML because it's just too hard.

Well as you know. They are furries. So it's either a hit or miss. Mostly miss because these people are just cringeworthy in everyway. They tell you everything about there lives and must have to spam there horrible fetishes everywhere. It's not a safe place for kids. If you kid isn't easily influenced then he may go on. There is so much porn and gay furries. It's truly terrifying. You wonder what got into these people or what there mental issues are to make them be like this. If you are anti social online, you better watch out for this site.
Such a toxic place. It makes 4chan look like heaven.
If you're into furry art there are many venues that you'll like.
Final verdict: It's a lot to take in. So i'd rather stick with DA. IMVU bought FurAffinity for $50,000. Must of been easy for them because that sites cheap as hell.
