As a self-employed professional based in the EU, I signed up for FlexJobs intending to claim the cost as a legitimate business expense. FlexJobs refused to provide a legal invoice, stating that "as an online company" they don't need to issue them — which is incorrect. Their billing page only offers a vague payment history with no text or company registration number, legal entity, or downloadable invoice. I have just submitted a formal complaint to the Spanish & EU tax tax authorities. If you're a freelancer or small business in Europe, be warned: you may not be able to legally claim your subscription, and you won't receive the documentation needed for your accounts.
