This is a legitimate job search site that helps narrow down job openings to people nationwide and worldwide. Highly recommended.
I've had more legit interviews and finally a job for remote work with FlexJobs help. I hit scammers for virtual positions on a variety of other sites, so I can honestly say this was the only one where the service was checked out. They provided weekly Zoom meetings and opportunities to improve your skills by taking skills tests.
If you are aspiring freelancer outside USA, then this is NOT the platform for you. I made a mistake of joining this platform. Most of the jobs are USA based and if you are out of USA, then stay away from this platform.
Still you have the compelling reason to join them, DON'T buy yearly subscription. Try them for a month first and then decide based on your success.
When I asked them to cancel the yearly subscription and refund, they accepted that most of the jobs are for USA residents only and denied to refund money.
Overall this platform was complete wastage of my time and money.

FINAL UPDATE: I did contact flexjobs for a refund to my subscription, which they agreed to. Just wasn't working for me.
UPDATE: So, it's been a month now. I've applied for a couple positions and the employers did send me the "sorry but you didn't get the job" email. I get that because you can't win them all. What surprised me was the sheer number of applicants. One employer told me more than 1000 people applied while another relayed that over 2000 people applied - for one job. What this tells me is that flexjobs is making money while its 'customers' have very little chance of landing a job given the sheer number of applicants for each posted position.
I joined a week ago. And yes, that really isn't enough time to gauge whether in the long run the site is worth it. But, initial indicators are negative. I've been contacted by one of flexjobs clients with an email made to appear as if the owner of the company was reaching out to me. When I replied, some CSR replied. Just gives the wrong impression. I've also been contacted by another client of flexjobs that pays a very low wage. So I guess if you want to work from home and earn very little money, this may be the site for you.

Looking for a new remote work opportunity, I decided to give FlexJobs a try. What a brilliant site it is. I love the advanced search function.
I wasn't in a rush, so I did a fair amount of combing through posts over time looking for the ones I felt inspired to apply to. I applied to my first FlexJobs job ad and did not get a response from the employer. I applied to a second job ad, and I was hired. True story. Even I can hardly believe it. Granted, I knew it was the perfect position for me; I had extremely relevant education and experience; and I worked very hard on customizing and perfecting my resume, cover letter, and interviewing skills.
From the day I sent in my application (to the company that hired me) to the day I was hired, it was two weeks. Overall, I started work six weeks from the day I sent in my application (because this company in particular needed to delay my start date due to the schedules of the people who trained me).
I just passed the 90-day mark, and I have to say, I absolutely love my job and the people I work with. The only reason I might want to move on from this job is if I move internationally, since this company doesn't allow remote work outside the U.S. But if I do make an international move, without a doubt, I will start that search right back on FlexJobs.

I am an introvert and I have social anxiety so working remotely works best for me. I love to be home with my animals. I have two dogs and a cat. I love to be able to walk them. Yes, the cat walks with us too! I am much more productive, responsible, and reliable working remotely. I have a much better quality of life and work / life balance. FlexJobs does a great job of giving you a database of legitimate remote job listings. However, many of them have location requirements and the filter options don't do the best job of sorting through the listings. Great resource all in all, I did find a great remote job through them!
