Rootbound with offset trunk
This has been a mixed experience so far. The tree took longer to ship out than expected, but shipping time was very reasonable once it was actually in process. I'm very happy with the height of our tree (6-7' Red Sunset Maple), but I was very disappointed with how seriously rootbound it was and that we received a grafted tree. It would've been nice to know I was getting a grafted tree so I could make an informed choice. That's my own fault for not educating myself about the type of tree. I was pushing to get it into the ground ASAP, so I didn't take a picture of the roots, but the taproot (0.25-0.5" diameter at its base) was curled around the pot 2-3 times, not to mention the other smaller roots. I wish I'd looked more closely to see whether these trees were grown in fields versus in pots, and I might've made a different choice of vendor. That said, it's a $200 tree. Hopefully, getting it planted in the fall with the fertilizer/root booster will give it the start it needs. If not, I'll likely look for a different vendor next time.

Arrived well packed and healthy!
It was a bit thinner and smaller than expected, but that's my lack of knowledge for a maple that height. One frustration was that there were no branches to hold the tie braces in place. Hopefully is has a strong spring!
