After I had received my order, REI put the same thing on sale. I noticed this 11 days after placing my order and went to read the Lowest Price Guarantee verbiage more closely. The initial CSR who I spoke with was adamant that the 7 day window outlined on-line had to be complied with, but he did take the step of e-mailing a return label, which on-line states should cost me $7. The next morning, I filed the price match request form, received a confirmation of receipt, and a few hours later, another stating that my match had been accepted. Before mailing the RA back, I called again to ensure that this transcontinental mailing was indeed required, just to be turned around and mailed back to me again. The second CSR apologized for her colleague, opining that he was new and handled the return by crediting my card with the adjustment. This was the simplest, best way to handle this scenario: evo preserved the sale, UPS and USPS did not receive further unwarranted fees, and I saved even more money.
