They are a fake company with fake reviews to promote Sunlight Financial (which is not on site jabber's list).
Here's the review I wrote:
My contract with Sunlight says: Monthly payment is $105.11 for the first 17 months, INCREASING TO APPROXIMATELY$142.66 IF THE 26% PAYMENT (ie. Rebate--clever wording) IS NOT PAID BY THE 17th PAYMENT. There no prepayment penalties.
I asked my CPA about this. He said: The rebate is a non-refundable credit against withholding taxes you owe. It does not reduce your self employment tax. So if you owe 1,000 in withholding tax for 2020 then the credit will zero out what you owe and the additional credit will carry forward to future years (at least 5 years). So technically the IRS is paying you the credit in that you don't owe the taxes but they don't refund you the credit. Many solar businesses tell their customers they'll get their credit but don't explain it this way. They provide the info to get the buyer hooked on using them. The good ones explain that it is just a credit and not a refundable credit.
I sent this data to Financial Sunlight "support". Here's the response I got back:
