I have found DL to be very inclusive and for the most part, connecting with people has been easy and I find the majority of people seem to be sincere.
I have had a few messages but meetings yet paid the upgrade but nothing yet wish there was an option for my city or even closer

I can only review W4M categories. Every now and then I check out DL to see if anything has changed for the better. If anything, it's become progressively worse.
First, as with CL, it's steeped in spam and phishing posts. Then there's significant postings that are sex workers. The real people are usually not who they say they are. Either trans posing as straight women (there's no trans category as with CL), or simply either a gay male posting in the wrong category, or a couple (MW) doing the same.
There was a time that photos, those posts that included pics, could be accessed. No longer. They charge for seeing pics now.
They also charge to renew posts and limit the number of posts unless you pay.
The only upside (an improvement over CL) is that everyone doesn't flag everyone else, but given that so few are accurate and real postings, what does it matter?
I could say DL is a disappointment, but that would imply that it had potential. Utterly useless.
So far my experiences have been promising and each day I become more comfortable with this platform. My post haven't been approved yet but I hope it will be soon, I have high hopes for this community.
