I joined as a designer on designcrowd, and my first contest logo design was accepted, but my other two contest designs were rejected by the "Quality Team," who claimed that it was due to poor design or execution, which it was not, and I have no clue who this quality team is! Are these actual people or BOTS? My designs are exactly what the contest owner asked.
If you don't mind wasting hours of your time drawing a logo only to have it rejected by the "LOL quality team," then sign up and goodluck...
I deactivated my account BYE BYE
They have a process to be a "verified" designer. I did the entire process. Was asked to do a logo and submitted two options. I was working on the next one and went in to submit it but was unable to log in. I emailed them and was told my designs didn't meet their standards so I was deactivated. Seriously? One design? And I didn't even get paid, they won't even tell me what was wrong. I feel this happens a lot. I can't believe how much they charge to begin with. Stay away.
Not much to say except a total waste of time. All they want to do is upsell you. When i contacted a live person i had to listen to a dog barking in the back ground
As a new designer, your account and your created designs are reviewed by the qualification team. How the qualification team works, $#*! knows. I spent so many hours creating designs for different orders, and almost all of them were rejected, with the design that was the worst I ever did they accepted. As a result, a bad rating from the customer. And they reject the best designs because of poor quality. $#*! them. I just started, but I won one competition and agreed with the customer about different design options, but after that my account was immediately blocked, I spent a lot of my time on a design that clients didn't even see and for which they didn't pay, and the client was left without design that was waiting. Do NOT recommend.
Their customer service workers are all overseas and reply to emails at 4 in the morning till 7 in the morning max! I had a typo in my email and then contacted them to correct my email and they blocked me! This is probably their way to avoid doing any work and easily collect their paychecks. This experience told me how designcrowd treats their designers and I believe I'm better off providing my designs for customers on Fiverr and on my own websites and social media.
It turns out that these people are scammers and work only with a work group, that is, themselves, because they do not let the new designers start their work, that is, without any explanation or with some illogical explanations they reject your work. In my case in particular, they rejected the work because I had a mockup, but on the page they award winners to their people who do, that is, the rules are not followed the same for everyone and they are openly unfair competition, in short, no work with these without shame
In the middle of running my first contest on this joke of a service now -- more than half of what you pay is going to go to fee after fee -- when you realize that you paid $400 for a contest that's getting listed for $150 and go to upgrade, they then charge you fees on TOP of that -- a 10% "upgrade fee" and a 5% "transaction" fee.
On top of charging the designer who wins the contest fees.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS -- BORDERLINE SCAM, AT THE VERY LEAST YOU'RE GETTING RIPPED OFF.
Said I'd already had an account when my picture nor my email were ever used. If you are doing good business, make sure you have a good team of technicians.
They don't allow designers to submit creative hand-drawn logo designs, they only approve the boring generic logo designs that can be easily replicated in any logo maker program. I have attached my first submission they declined with the reason being "poor quality" This logo has micro-stippled shading, custom hand-drawn artwork, and attention to detail. I sell my custom hand-drawn logos with stippled shading on other sites for $250 - $800. I am a Top-Level at 99deisigns and go back and forth between Top seller and Level 2 seller at Fiverr. Designcrowd.com only wants overly-used generic logo designers. I suggest if you want to be creative, do NOT waste your time at designcrowd.com.
They decline design so easy. Firstly, I've applied my design on a contest, and they deactivated the account for no reason. I've read their guidelines and their regulations and I respected them but, they say the opposite. I've worked at least 20 hours on a logo contest. Furthermore, I was furious so, I decided to create a new account in the site and I uploaded my design once again. And they declare that my design is unprofessional and not great quality. Which is the opposite because you can clearly see that the image and logo are great quality. Do not use this service because it's a waste of time.
I entered this platform as a designer and submitted all my work with unique ideas and designs. But they rejected all of them by saying poor quality, not upto quality team standard blah blah, (Lolz). I am working on freelancer.com, fiver and I get 4-5 stars for all of my designs. Actually, they steal your designs and take it their own. In result they kick you out of the platform so that you could not take advantage of them. Anywau, so pathetic platform is this!
Design Crowd Suddenly closed my ID without any notice or any warnning
While on asking again and again my Question about some Designers ID always break roles and their ID's still active after closing ID the reinstating, They did not reply my questions
As Designer working hard and suddnely got bane really very stressfull, they give reason thay my feedback is negative while I have good ratings and feedback on logo 3.5 out of 5
They do not respect the designer and refuse the appropriate work on the pretext that it is poor design quality and execution, and when communicating with them via email, they give rude answers.
What DesignCrowd do is a disgrace and low class in the design world. Suppress designers and steal design copyright. Determined designer's artwork without any reasons and straightly deactivated ur account! What the fishhh? And why DesignCrowd do tht, this absolutely ridiculous and you know it.
Design Crowd has a misleading statement on their website saying "Money Back Guarantee". They do not return all your funds and keep 1/3 of it for posting fees and transaction fees.
The logo designs i received were poor quality.
Caz
They send job invitations for a fee of $ 20 regardless of the outcome of the competition, but in fact you will never get that money. You're not even sure when you work on 1-on-1 project, and then you won't get paid if the client doesn't approve, even though they've been using your design for a year. The platform has many drawbacks. Terrible service!
Just recently deactivated my account. This site doesn't care about designers. See you as disposable tools. While they take all the cash. You don't have the right to rate the client.
UPDATE: Here is a scam they are doing they are hiring in house designers then participate in design contest and if they win they take all the prize it's not really a contest.
By using your fantastic services, we are very pleased that your goods are absolutely good, so I would recommend you to those who use your awesome services.
As many have said before if you decide to create an account as a designer you get bundled into a verification process which seems like its a bot or if not someone ticking boxes on a design but 'luckily' their design gods of a quality team verified my account.
I can't say whether or not new designers coming onto the platform would be better but some of the designs currently are horrible, some are copied straight from a Google search, some are from logo generation websites, some are just so bad or off brief that it amazes me they passed their quality checks. The worst part of all is some designs break copyright law but win contests without DesignCrowd (DC) ever checking it over before paying out, if you are a business owner using DC please make sure you check designs are ORIGINAL before choosing them.
I personally only ever had one experience with DC's support team and that was when a business owner didn't understand that all the relevant files they wanted had been put into one single folder and thought I was trying to rip them off (Don't worry I wasn't) DC's support team without checking asked, no wait, DEMANDED I hand over the files, once I explained to the support team member it was all in one and everything was there I never heard from them again not even a confirmation message to show they checked. Not the worst dealings I've had in my time but also not the best - the team member came across as rude and impolite.
Dealing with clients / business owners was probably the easiest part of this whole process most were friendly, easy to deal with and some even skipped DC and emailed me off site to do more work.
I will say the pricing is very low, not to mention if a client pays for a design in anything other than pounds (GBP) I would often lose money due to the conversion rates, this made going for any jobs not based in the UK a chore specially if the client wants a few revisions and I found myself skipping over jobs from other countries. If you are looking at DC as being anything other than a way of developing your skills with the different briefs and potentially getting some money for the practice then you'll be disappointed, DC is NOT a viable alternative for a full time job.
Overall if you are a designer I'd say to avoid DesignCrowd; the prices are low, an almost non-existent support staff, briefs vary from being extremely detailed to a barren wasteland of information and even if you read this and decide to give it a go please only use it as a way to sharpen your skills don't go quitting your job to make this your main source of income its not that kind of site.
I'm sorry to write something like that but it's the truth and not anything else,
I've very bad experience at DesignCrowd As a designer.
DesignCrowd Only respect people who pay only which is the clients.
When You close my account due to 3 rejections and one of them was because of wrong dimensions and I asked for another chance to prove that I can make it right but no response no humanity for the one who begged them to continue his work.
On the other side When the client mailed them to reactivate my account to continue his work they immediately reopened my account.
Yes that's right as you saw, I've won a contest there, I'm not bad designer but I'm just not a client who pay in the website to get the support team attention.
I'm very sad to have this experience at big company like DesignCrowd.
