The Daily Kos is now controlled by Marxists and Bolsheviks dedicated to the total destruction of the USA. Their articles are party propaganda for the Communists. Every word is a lie and part of mass disinformation and psychological operations war fare. Avoid the Daily Kos. They are Liars and Bolsheviks, with one purpose which is the total destruction of America. Another wake up call to those who respect the Law and tolerance is that those controlling Daily Kos hate straight people. If you don't have some Trans agenda or non straight agenda, they hate you and want you destroyed. I had no idea just how nefarious and harmful they are. You have to be exactly whatever they are, or they hate you.

So I've been watching Daily Kos comments for awhile. I signed up today, and gave some "recommended stars" to some comments, and then made some comments of my own. I'm a senior citizen -- not a "Bernie Bro" by any means. I pointed out that there were similarities between trump and Biden that made me uncomfortable, and that I didn't feel young people would ever get out to vote for Biden. I also said that I wanted real change not just the same old status quo. I was almost immediately taken off and have not been allowed to reply or comment since. Daily Kos is biased and controlling the narrative but pretending these discussions are open. The corporate head of KOS is apparently endorsing Biden. This site is nothing but a centrist/corporate/DNC type of a thing with just a tiny spattering of mildly pro-Bernie / worried about Biden comments. Stay away from this site! It is all phony and staged, and it is impossible to unsubscribe -- they ignore your unsubscribe requests (I've tried to unsubscribe in the past many times and again this afternoon). So I still have tons of nasty comments coming in saying how spiteful Bernie Sanders' supporters are that they would not vote for Biden just to get rid of trump, etc., etc., (i. E. tons of B. S.). There are some glaringly false comments suggesting Sanders voted for the Iraq War just like Biden (which he did not), and you can't correct them. It was ok for me to be called all sorts of terrible things by people commenting, but not ok for me to say why Bernie Sanders is the better choice and more electable than Biden by far. Something is really wrong with that. In fact, it is un-American. There are still comments coming into my inbox saying I am a "Russian troll" straight from Moscow (and I cannot answer them)! Considering my grandparents left Eastern Europe in the early 1900's and faced considerable hardship to begin a life in America, that is very painful.

Beware! The content doesn't match the moderation which is completely nonsensical, arbitrary and may be related to the site owner's dislike of Sanders. Users who support Sanders are flagged and banned. They are harming the Democratic party and progressives should not waste their time. Also don't create an account once they have your email they refuse to let users delete their accounts. Stay away, they are so hateful they will turn blue into red.

While much of the info is interesting, to be squelched from adding intelligent comments is a kick in the butt and is also a real threat to the First Amendment. I therefore consider this source of "news" an illegitimate one not to mention un-American. If my benign comments can be censored, then Daily Kos is guilty of the very treason that they purport to convey about others. After several years of reading their news, and coming to the realization that it might not even be real news, I'm unsubscribing. They also never replied to my questions about why I had been censored. This is just not good business sense, but I guess they have enough supporters and don't care about losing one more petition signer.

The news articles are usually fairly good, though the reporters often miss important events. Diaries are often of less quality. But the comments are often naive and biased. I had enjoyed free and open discourse at Firedog Lake for several years, but when that closed the only alternative was, sadly, DailyKos. Other commenters there frequently lack the acumen to understand my posts; and if someone makes an observation they don't agree with, especially from an actual progressive stance, the moderators are quick to ban that person. So, the website poses as a "liberal" forum, but in reality is quite provincial, pedantic and conservative, pernicious to the progressive cause.

Have been reading daily kos for awhile and began noticing the posters are mostly the same and they speak to each other with the familiarity of a club. Which is fine, until you ask some questions they don't want to hear. Have you ever read the rules of the road over there? What hogwash. So if an established poster tells you "you can die mad"... that's fine... but push the issue, try to expand your question and you are dismissed like you're nothing to them. They appear to break down into the bullies and the bowers... thanks but no thanks
I'm a big girl who has seen bullies before and will again... just always startling when it happens where you thought they were better than that.

I wrote a comment about an article with a differing opinion than those that had been previously posted, was accused and threatened as a "troll", and was blocked.

Many of the comments following this article promoted an agenda of hate and violence towards those who didn't agree.

Previously, I had found the articles posted to be well put viewpoints, but If you don't promote their agenda, you are not allowed to participate. To me this perpetuates the "us vs them" mentality that they rail against. It certainly is NOT an unbiased forum, and promotes hate speech.

I read blogs from both the Red and Blue sides to get a balance.

Some posts on each are utter garbage - but reading both gives insight.

Kos is no better or worse - but I have found their information - particularly the insights and narrative into the Trump presidency - not only useful but endlessly entertaining.

Lately, every polite, evidence backed post I have made to this site concerning the gaping holes in the Russiagate narrative has been unceremoniously yanked for no good reason. When anther poster questioned why some of these comments were being blocked (usually within an hour of posting them), the moderators denied doing so. This is censorship at it's worst. The Kos is engaged in a deliberate and wholesale deceit of it's own readership and ought to be called to account for the very same Stalinist behaviour indulged in by Trump and his fake news warriors. They are using their platform in social media for the purposes of suppressing dissent and manipulating facts. There ought to be somewhere to go to complain about this.

I have no problem with "slant" per se on a website - all sites have them, you read them or you don't - but the problem with DailyKos isn't slant. It's the site's proto-fascism in demanding absolute adherence to a particular set of ideas (and as a prof of political science I don't use the term "fascism" lightly). DailyKos says it doesn't remove posts, but it does worse - it gives "trusted" users complete power to flag and censor comments, and it takes just two such flags to remove your comment. This means that no deviation from what these users consider the "correct" one, even a "friendly amendment," is allowed. As a result of this abdication of responsibility by the editors, a few narrow-minded ideologues are free to act as gatekeepers to stifle democratic discussion. I discovered this the hard way: like another person commenting here, I offered my firsts comment (polite, no unprofessional language, just calling for caution on the Russia question) and was promptly trashed and insulted by a string of childish nasty responses calling me a bot, a "kamikazi drone strike," etc. Worse, the very first reply "flagged" my comment for deletion and it was then "hidden" along with the nasty replies so my point was effectively censored. As someone who is regularly trashed for being too "liberal" I found this astounding! All a reader has to do to remove a view s/he doesn't like is flag it? How convenient! And my effort to reach the editors to protest came to nothing. Aside from the damage to any democratic ethos, DailyKos only reinforces stereotypes about progressive politics rather than breaking them down. I've found some info from its mail lists useful, which I'll miss, but I don't think this kind of nasty groupthink should be encouraged so I will unsubscribe and encourage others to do the same.

Daily Kos is not worthy of reading. It is fake news. Trash Can product! Test it for the TRUTH!
