Craigslist Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its platform's functionality and customer service. Users frequently express frustration over the arbitrary removal of legitimate posts, with many feeling that the site is overrun by scams while genuine listings are flagged without explanation. Additionally, the lack of responsive customer support exacerbates these issues, leaving users feeling unheard. Despite some recognition of the platform's potential to connect individuals, the prevailing sentiment is one of disappointment, with many users seeking alternatives due to these persistent challenges.

I recently bought a truck from Iron Horse Auto Group and was misled as to the condition of the truck. It will cost me $1,500.00 to put the truck in the condition described to me. They finally gave me a $500.00 refund, but that leaves me $1,000.00 short. Paid $6,600.00 for the truck so the $1,500.00 is quite a high percentage off the mark. I'm a 70 year old disabled retired person. Not Fair! Beware of them.

Where to begin. This is one of those 'classic' brands. Say 'craigslist' and we think of when the 'net was "new and cool" and all that. Like the classified in the weekly, browsing it all day for a used car. Come 1996 and whoa, it's online! Cool!

So that part, is where I give the 1 star. But since then, and maybe "off the normal usage" of it, I explored the forums. Many drunken a nights, or one too many lonely nights after a woman letdown. I wish it was "that way". Where, you could actually meet "a friend", and we never run into those people who only rate down or reply all cocky and trying to be edgy and cocky and hard and cool.

Craigslist is a huge haven for thieves, scams and crooks. I tried to purchase several different cargo trailers but each time it ended in an attempted scam. Once you have given your personal information and shipping address and acknowledge that you wish to purchase the trailer, car, etc, you will receive a reply email stating that you will receive an eBay Buyer Protection agreement. It will state in the agreement that you must pay the purchase price only in ecards and that the price is non-negotiable. The agreement also states ecard amounts will be deposited into an escrow account until you have approved and accepted the item within 7 days of delivery. FIRST LIE... ebay has no affiliation at all with Craigslist, SECOND LIE. Ebay does not have an escrow account, THIRD LIE eBay does not have a secure warehouse where the item is being held until delivery within 3 days of purchase. FOURTH LIEeBay does not provide handling and shipping of any items. Most people in this scam will tell you they have just gone through a divorce, shipping out in the military within 2 weeks, or only used the item a few times. BUYER BEWARE! RULES TO FOLLOW WITH CRAIGSLIST. 1. Always buy local with only the seller. 2. Never send money or any form of payment before the transaction. 3. Anything with eBay has NOTHING to do with Craigslist.

I been using Craigslist for many many years to post ads for employment needs as a home care provider/caregiver. Last month everything seemed to be ok I did notice they charge now so I "thought" I found a site that do not charge that I can post for free for a little over than a month than, READ ONRecently I said to myself, I need to repost my private senior care provider ad on craigslist again, but this time its all different, the day I post 3 differ cities, within couple of hours, it all been flagged and removed and there is no number I can call and speak to an alive person. I NEVER have anything that is NOT proper on my personal ad, don't know why they or he or she flagged me and remove me for? I am tired of this trash site. For anyone out there, if you need to post free ads, there are a lot more site out there that is FREE, you just need to take the time to look for.Do NOT use this site, something is very wrong with the new craigslist site, they are no longer helping the citizen that can't afford to pay for just out for $$$$.

DO NOT USE "INSURED! Kaity Cleaners Go Pro Move in/Move out Cleaning Specials (Brandon/Valrico/Tampa/St. Pete/Pasco) *******235 *******@gmail.com"
Do not use this cleaning service. I am an out-of-state homeowner who paid $215.00 for a house cleaning so a new tenant could move into my property. Kaity charged $85.00 an hour for two and half hours (two cleaners). They sent me "after" pictures and I paid via PayPal. My new tenant and rental agent both advised me that it looked as if no one came to the house and cleaned. They sent me a series of photos that were a little more revealing. There was physical dirt on the floors, in the fridge, and food on the stove and in the oven. I asked for her to go over and clean the missed areas. She originally said she would go over and then changed her mind. In her response to me, she informed me that I should have come over the house to check the work or paid me by check (apparently, since I paid by PayPal, I had no leverage to get her to stand by her work).
Final note: I am not talking about being a nitpicker about the dirt, the pictures I was sent were not only obvious, they were disgustingly large amounts of dirt (apparently previous tenant was not the cleanest person).

Gone to $#*!

This corporation is committing acts of Copyright, Trademark and Servicemark Infringement. They are also censoring individual political commentary directly. They ban individuals from posting ads despite declaring it open to those who do not violate Terms of Service. When they steal your time, edit your posts which do not violate the TOS, then service your credit card and force refunds, processing fees, depletion of your business credit, etc. they are doing this with the intention of stopping work against their declared policies.

Whatever happened to CL it has become an institution of deception, fraud, unscrupulous business practices and it is in violation of Anti-Trust Laws since it is favoring competition selectively.

Spam, Spoof, Fake, Scam, Fisher, Bot, Hacker, Criminal, Junk-Mail activity is all I see anymore.

How legit people continue to use that site is beyond me.

The prementioned lot of people in the previous group aside from the sparse group of legit users must've moved their scams to LetGo. It's just as bad there, NOW...& why I leave this review for an online seller site I haven't visited in years because of the seething mass of people who honestly couldn't sell water to a desert caravan because of poor selling practices.

It's very disenchanting.

Russian Bots are controlling or attempting to control the sections of politics and Rant/Rave in several cities across the nation. I try and report it and no one EVER GETS BACK TO ME. They also have porn posted and no one monitors it. There also has been threatening posts to form militias, shoot people and start a Civil War, yet, Craigslist just leaves them for someone else to flag. Sometimes after flagging the post doesn't get removed. Craigslist needs to get it together. Right now, they don't do squat to protect the consumer, our country our countries people!

My experience with Craigslist have been good. I was able to sell a few quality items. And there are legit buyers out there willing to pay but you just have to know how to weed out the scams. Some are so obvious that it's hard to believe people fall for them. Scams are going to come from any site that is free. If you are a very trusting person then don't deal with anyone on craigslist. Don't give interested buyers or sellers your phone number right away. Communicate via email thru craigslist. I went as far as creating an email soley dedicated to craigslist buyers/sellers communication once a date & time of transaction is set. DON'T BE A SUCKER!

For a long time, apparently, Craigslist has had problems with replying to ads. My problems just started several weeks ago.

They have locked down their forums, however (my email address is apparently not good enough for them), and so, I can't echo other people who have also been recently locked out of replying.

People, if you want to post something, please put the contact info in the body of the post.

The blame for this problem has been laid on the innocent users, with comments in the forum blaming users as abusers and that's why they are getting this mysterious "something went wrong" message. I am not an abuser or a scanner. In fact, I hardly ever use Craigslist.

In my investigations, I also read that users were being arbitrarily punished if they looked like they weren't local. This matched my experiments. With much struggle, I got another, distant internet address. I had the same error when I tried near my locale (with a distant internet protocol address) but the foreign local neighborhoods actually were reply-able (with the new address).

Since this problem has been an issue for so many years, and there is a pattern of blaming the victims, silencing the victims, and arbitrarily punishing random users who look out of line, I cannot recommend this website. To Craigslist, apparently, the users are not the customers or even the products, they are the enemy, to be fought and denied service to. This insane level of hostility to its customers should be enough to put Craigslist out of business.

If you are a lawyer, I encourage you to pursue legal action against Craigslist, for their discriminatory practices. If you were wronged by Craigslist, you should seek justice.

If you know of an alternative website, please use it instead.

I cannot get any answers from anyone at Craigslist why they continue to remove my legal & ethical ads, an ad I've used for three plus years that is suddenly being removed without explanation. Poor business practice on their part. Equally frustrating, no one to contact at their home office for help. Again, poor business practice

I have found that ALMOST ALL advertisers on this site are phony. I think they have ulterior motives apart from what they are advertising. Contractors don't even bother to call you or email you back. If they don't even get back with you, why are they advertising on Craigslist?

Craigslist is starting to charge across all categories for advertising, whether it's for professional services of any kind, etc. I've used it for 10 yrs as part of my advertising strategy, and have only gotten 4-5 clients over that time, so for free, it's fine to use. If they're going to charge me, I want to see the metrics of how many people view my ads, where they're from, time of day, day of week, all the professional metrics that a business would expect out of a for-profit advertising platform. Obviously they don't have that and never will release metrics like that to the public. There are lots of other free sites that are used as much as Craigslist now, which has lost its popularity over the last several years. That's where I'm going.
