I have been a customer with this company for YEARS. I have had 5 store cards. Dropped Game Stop a couple years ago, Meijer switched banks, and I just recently picked up Victoria's Secret. I also have Hot Topic and Big Lots. No issues at all. I always paid on time, there were regular increases, rewards, etc. All in all, it was a good relationship, until recently. For the past several months I have had trouble getting online to make my payments. The system would say my password was wrong, so I'd try to change it and then it would say they were having technical difficulties. Call the phone number and it says to call back later because they're experiencing technical difficulties. I always managed to get in under the wire until last month. I could not get on to get my VS card paid. I called the store and they said they'd take the payment. I drove 45 minutes only to find out that they couldn't take the payment either, due the system being down. I tried every day for a week. Finally my payment is late. On the first late day, I was able to log in, so I sent a message explaining all this. They told me that they would give me a one-time COURTESY refund of the late fee even though it was THEIR fault. Whatever. I got it back. So all was well for about 2 days and I realized I had completely forgotten to pay the Big Lots card. First time EVER. So I log in and it says to please pay the amount due by the next due date, which was 3 weeks away. Cool. Until the next day when I started getting up to 3 texts, calls, and emails (each) per day wanting to discuss this late payment of $35. I sent them a very polite and professional message saying that I realized I had missed the payment and that it was completely my fault, but I was on shut down for 2 weeks. My next payday was on the due date and could they please not blow up my phone until I got it paid, assuring them 100% that I WOULD pay it to current on the due date. The next day I noticed that all my cards had $0 available credit. I messaged to find out why, thinking that because 1 card was late, they put a hold on all of them. Nope. They said I requested a "Cease and Desist" and since they couldn't contact me, they weren't going to extend me anymore credit. That is NOT what a requested and what a dirty, underhanded thing to do to a good customer. I just paid off all my cards and they can stuff every one of their accounts. I'll take my business elsewhere.

I set my account up to be drafted automatically every month. They take the payment well after the due date and then charge you a 30 dollar late fee. I paid them off and cancelled my account. You've been warned! Stay away from these crooks!

I closed all my accounts with them after they let a $2 finance charge grow to $147 dollars! And then reports to the credit bureau 120 days late. The finance charge should have never been charge in the first place I made the purchase on the 22nd of April paid it off online on the 27th of April. So I thought there was no balance, then I went to look at our credit report online, and BANG! I see they have been reporting a $2 balance as past due, but of course no courtesy call, letter in the mail, nothing, because they force you to opt out of paper statements. Tried to call to resolve it, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. All they wanted to do was try to lecture me how to pay my bills! Really, I have plenty of other credit cards I don't need their crappy cards. Closed Victoria Secrets, Maurice's and Sportsman's Wearhouse. Will never have another card from Comenity! Just be aware.

Do NOT use this bank
December 18, 2023

Do not bank with this bank. Do not open a famous footwear credit card. They routinely mailed statements so there was no chance a payment could be made on time. Charging multiple late fees. Even after I paid the balance and closed my account I continued to receive payment collection notices. When I called they said it takes 7-10 business days to process, in the meantime it seems like they added new charges even though I've not purchased anything new and my account is closed. More fees?!

Just stay away.

Horrible experience
December 4, 2023

Had fraud on my credit card. Long story short, they did absolutely nothing to help. Not even freeze my account to prevent further damage. Hours and hours of aggravation and several hundred dollars lost. Do yourself a favor, stay away.

I have been screwed over twice now by Comenity Bank. DO NOT TRUST THEM when they say they've closed the account or cancelled the card after you've paid it off. Twice now I've paid my balance in full, and then months later was strapped with some random surprise late payment, because it accrued interest. Interest ON WHAT, a 0 balance!? I paid it off. I closed the account. I cancelled the card. How can there be interest on nothing!?! I had a near to perfect credit score, and 4 months after paying off & closing everything, my credit is hit by some supposed late payment of interest that accrued on a zero balance closed account? Never trust this company, unless you want to get screwed. Apparently they've been sued for this exact issue already. Nice to know nothings changed.

I never ever have had not 1 bad or argumentized interaction with someone on the phone, until this lady, Ms. Tucker. She is rude, disgusting and shouldn't be working w ppl or on the phone. I am late on payments due to other situations, she called once and was angry I said I was at work and that they would have to call Friday for payment (seeing as they're calling regardless) this woman started w me saying I needed to call them, I let her know I'm at work again and hung up. I called back for a supervisor after because she was out of control, then was transferred and hung up on. I called back again and here goes Ms. Tucker again, saying I was doing a "refusal for payment for the 3rd time" then that woman started to YELL at me, saying I wasn't a customer because I was in collections, she was condescending and almost like she wanted to argue with me. I thought I was being pranked lowkey, Comenity please I get doing what you guys do and getting payments is hard, but please employ ppl who have some couth and respect. I am human, just because I am going through a hardship, behind on a few payments doesn't mean I should be treated like some criminal. Fire her and I'm gonna complain against that beast every time I can. I determined to pay and close this card due to the trash they have behind the phones TO MS.TUCKER: YA MOMS A H... you finish the rest

I would like to share my unfortunate experience with Stripe, which has resulted in substantial financial losses exceeding $22,000. This ordeal has had a profound impact on both my personal life and the viability of my small business. It is my belief that this situation has arisen through a questionable collaboration with Comenity Bank. I am writing this review not only to document my own grievances but also to extend a call to action to others who may find themselves in a similar predicament.

My interaction with Stripe has regrettably proven to be detrimental, as I have incurred significant financial hardships. The losses I have suffered have far-reaching consequences, both personally and in terms of my business's financial stability. This experience has underscored the need for transparency and accountability in financial transactions, particularly when they involve partnerships with financial institutions such as Comenity Bank.

I am of the firm conviction that I am not alone in facing these challenges. To this end, I invite individuals who have encountered similar issues with Stripe and Comenity Bank to reach out to me. By collectively sharing our experiences and grievances, we can initiate a concerted effort to address these concerns and seek appropriate redress. It is essential to recognize that the more voices that come together to report instances of abuse, the stronger our collective position becomes in advocating for fairness and accountability.

In conclusion, my intention in sharing this review is to shed light on the challenges I have faced with Stripe and Comenity Bank, as well as to serve as a catalyst for collective action. I believe that by uniting in our efforts to bring these issues to light, we can effect positive change and hold accountable those responsible for any unjust practices. Your support and collaboration in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated.

Horrible company
September 28, 2023

After claiming I'm a valued customer, they reduced my limit from 1250 to 300. No warning, no explanation other than the credit bureau sent them a letter. Lies. I've paid this card off twice, my balance was like $300, and I may have been late 4 times in the span of 5 years of having this card. This is BS, and they know it. I cancelled the card, very frustrated with this company.

Obnoxious!
September 27, 2023

They are by far the most obnoxious bank that I have done business with. Unfortunately, they are the bank for some stores I shop at the most. Seriously, one day late and I got 20 calls in ONE DAY! One call will remind me, but 20, makes me NOT!

I have been a customer with Comenity for years and have never had a late payment. I have several accounts with comenity and they are all in good standing. Comenity started lowering my credit limits (drastically) without giving me any advanced noticed. I had a $1,100 limit on one card and had just under $150 charged. They reduced my limit to $150 which hurt my credit score because my utilization was then at almost 100%. I've recently paid off each of these accounts and will no longer use them nor will I open another account with Comenity ever. They are the absolute worst financial institution I've ever dealt with.

They have horrible service! Horrible customer service too! I have many cards with them. I have never been late on any of them. I had a student loan report to my credit report. That was incorrect, and it made my credit score drop big Time. Because it wasn't accurate information. The bureau's had to remove the information from my credit report. It only raised my credit report back up a little bit. So community bank is reducing my credit limits down to $100. Their reasoning for this is because they said I had a big drop in my credit score. I thought that being a loyal customer and never being late. On any crediregards would count. They don't care about their customers at all. When they lower your credit limit, it decreases your credit score a bit more. It's a shame that I worked on my credit score for The longest time and now because of one mistake I'm being punished for it. I mean, I have a lot of credit cards. And they're all on time, but that shouldn't affect the fact That I've been on time for every last one of they make good paying people and citizens suffer. I would not recommend them to anyone at all. Once you're credit score drops it's hard to get it back up i'm trying. These people do not care about their customers at all

I've had the misfortune of experiencing Comenity Capital Bank's operations firsthand, and I am deeply concerned about their approach towards customers. At the outset, their promotional offers, particularly with the Payboo Card, seem attractive with promises of zero interest. However, the devil, as they say, is in the details.

Deceptive Promotions: The bank's promotional terms can only be described as predatory. The promise of "zero interest" is heavily contingent on nuances that the average consumer might overlook. In my case, a small outstanding balance led to an inordinately high interest charge, suggesting a clear intent to capitalize on unsuspecting customers.

Absence of Communication: One would expect a bank to maintain open channels of communication, especially when financial penalties are at stake. Yet, Comenity failed to send any reminders, be it through emails, texts, or phone calls, about impending charges. This lack of communication only reinforces the perception that they operate in shadows and are banking (pun unintended) on consumer oversight.

Public Sentiments Echo My Concerns: A brief search online led me to the Better Business Bureau's page on Comenity Capital Bank. The numerous complaints there echo similar sentiments of deception, lack of communication, and unreasonably high charges.

In the vast financial landscape, where consumer trust is paramount, Comenity Capital Bank's operations stand out - and not in a good way. Potential customers should be wary and do their due diligence before getting involved with this institution. Financial decisions, even seemingly small ones, can have far-reaching implications. As for me, I'll be looking elsewhere for my financial needs in the future.

About Comenity Bank Mastercard #*******768 issued on June 2021, be here on known, that I had never received such, and learned about it, when in Feb 2023, my Banking Institution had check my credit rating (my FICO of 790 at the time, due to an immaculately and responsibly handled of my credit), informing me that a late, delinquent and in collection account is showing -since Aug 2022-,as a damaging, and derogative and {as factual proven INTENTIONALLY} data.

I had immediately and with several phone calls, emails and regular [certified return receipt USA Post Office mai] contacted all parties involved within

· I have never received a BJs Banking VISA nor Master Charge card, either from BJs, nor from Capital Bank, nor Capital One Bank, and not from Comenity Bank either

· I have never received a single monthly billing statement

O Or I would have had taken care of this "not mine matter" supposedly use of a charge card account and subsequent late payment issue before it escalate on August 2022

· Where was this supposedly charge card made? ç Certainly, not by me.

· Whom -if any-, have had an stolen use of it, before the shown 30 days late condition?

· What was it used for on and where?

· Why was this "supposedly received", charge card never used before July or August 2022?

O Or was it been used and properly paying the monthly statements? (By whomever got in possession of the charge card) not me.

O If so, where did YOU were sending the billings to? Not to me.

Where were YOU receiving the monthly payments? Not from me.

See on the provided spreadsheet, a four years history of our credits, there is NOT BJs charge card showing. That information MUST BE REMOVED to restore my actuak FICO of 734, restored. Thanka!

Steadily receive 'rejection letters' despite never once applying for credit. I since discovered that Comenity retrieves any and all personal information they need from the White Pages. The second you receive unsolicited offers of rejections from them, REPORT them immediately to the BBB/ Credit Bureau/ AND Trade Commission. Upon doing so, freeze your credit history and place a fraud alert it. Otherwise, they will keep it up until your credit/ reputation is completely ruined.
