Fraud
September 9, 2023

I ordered $300 of training material. Everything arrived, but later I got an additional charge of $14.95 from Christianbookrewards.com on my card. I emailed Christianbook.com why I had a charge from Christianbookrewards and stated I didn't need the service and on the webpage I didn't pay to be a member or whatever the service was. Christian book.com never responded. On my second charge I marked both charges down as fraud on my discover account and also realized this was from a different website that I have never used. Still waiting if discover or christianbookrewards refunds me. I didn't get any financial benefit If I did sign up for the rewards service so be careful I guess there is a button people click to sign up. I specifically remember not signing up for anything.

Unfortunately I fell for this - I was placing an order and saw a button it said to click on to join the rewards program and save the shipping charge, so I did, then afterwards found out that it signs you up for an $18/mth auto-draft charge and it also doesn't remove the shipping charge, they apparently send that back to you at some later date, and of course it offers this to you AFTER they already have your credit card info. Whoever heard of paying for a loyalty program? And not stating that's what you're signing up for up front is pretty crooked. Too bad a Christian-based company operates this way.

CBD: the best
June 3, 2023

For Bibles, the selection is larger, price usually lower than other sellers. The online catalog descriptions give me details, as dimensions, type size; so I know exactly what I'm buying. Excellent also for wide selection of homeschool items.

Purchased a bible with the intent on receiving what I ordered. Surprise it was not! Their service made an attempt to correct the issue but was not able. The item they listed was not what I recieved. I truly do not believe they have any intent on providing you what you purchased. When they realized that I was not going away, they offered to refund my purchase when I returned both incorrect bibles. I refer to this as the old bait and switch activity.

Heresy
May 17, 2023

No book store calling themselves a Christian book store should be selling children's LGBT books. Someone there is swallowing Satan's lies, and dispersing them for him.

I bought a book from them. They automaticlaly added me to their rewards program and charged me 14.95$/month until I found this in my credit card record a few month later. They did not ask me permission for this Reward program.

Fraud
April 10, 2023

They are charging credit cards for orders never ordered by the customers. They start small and than move to a larger amounts until you notice. I found 3 charges over a 5 day period ranging from $8 to $130. When you call them they say their systems are down and cannot take calls. I needed a book for homeschool in 2020 and had no choice due to shortages (Covid) of homeschool materials otherwise I would have never ordered from them and have NOT since.

Slow shipping, address entered at their web page changed and item ordered has bounced. So, if I want this product sent to me again they declare they will charge extra postage and as I have not received the order at the mailbox then they will not refund the original postage. I tried to call: "Our phones are not working at this time." Okay.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS OUTFIT.

I bought 3 Make A Plate kits for my grandchildren for Christmas. I was willing to pay $21.95 per plate, though advertised for less elsewhere, to avoid future charges for my children. To send 3 Make A Plate kits, when tax, shipping and handling were included, was $81.47. Yes, $81.47 for 3 plastic plates. But wait, we're not done yet! NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES WERE MENTIONED, but when my daughter went to send in the completed sheet for the product, she was told that 3 of the 6 offered options were not available, including a water bottle her 6 year old was very excited about. She was also told that EACH OF THE 3 PLATES would cost her $11.90 in shipping. So now we're up to $117.17 for 3 plastic plates. I spoke to Amy S. At Customer Service who said she was unaware of any prior issues with this product, in spite of the fact there are numerous customer reviews of this product with issues similar to mine. Incidentally, I also sent two of these kits to another daughter, who looked at the cost of shipping the drawings back and decided to throw the packets away rather than spend an additonal $11.90 per plate to return them. This was in addition to the $54.32 I had spent for the 2 plate kits. This process by Christianbooks.com is patently dishonest and borders on extortion. They may not be the makers of the product, but they promote it in all it's dishonesty, and deny any knowledge of issues with it inspite of numerous reviews detailing them.

Great company
February 17, 2023

Only 2 stars because shipping was through FedEx. I've ordered from cb many times but they keep using FedEx, and today after many lies like "attempted delivery", I found out my box had never even left the facility. In order to stop it from being sent back to CB, I drove 45 miles and stood outside in the rain to talk through a speaker at fed ex and finally get my package after 4 days of "out for delivery" notifications. I would gladly pay more for better shipping. I won't buy from them again until they provide more shipping options.

AWESOME!
January 13, 2023

If I could give this company more stars, I would. Wow - they went above and beyond ANY customer service that I have experienced. I was searching for a unique need and I had three different people work very hard to help me. One lady worked for a very long time searching and searching - educating me all along - trying to find what I needed. As a result, she found something that cost much less than expected! I LOVE these people!

The mess I find myself in is the delivery service ChristianBook insists on using when offering free delivery with a purchase of $35.00. They make it sound so good when in reality the delivery service of USPS benefits them not the consumer. I called again for the second incident, this has happened once before. They told me to wait, again. I was told that I could pay for FedEx or UPS if I didn't not want to use USPS. Now how is that a benefit to the consumer? They offer free delivery with a purchase of $35.00, but they don't tell you that if you want a secure manner of delivery you have to pay for it. How is that free delivery only if you choose what they want you to choose. Let's face it, snail mail in the USA is horrible. I most likely won't order from them for a long while unless they truly offer free delivery across the board where we can have a much better method of having our deliveries delivered to us and not have to pay extra to use FedEx or UPS. Shouldn't the consumer feel secure with their purchase deliveries. They are not giving us the orders for free. I do have proof of purchase and I can send an email to proof I have made a definite purchase.

I don't use paypal and I don't give out my bank information. I do other transactions online and I am not required to do either. After reviewing this site, I am even more adamant about it. This should have been a simple debit transaction and there is far too much fraud already occurring to take unnecessary chances!

Missing Items
September 8, 2022

I have been purchasing items at christianbook.com for over 10 years. In the past I have been completely satisfied. However this year I placed two orders with christianbook.com and both times I had missing items. The first time I had a missing item I was completely understanding and super nice about it. The second time I was very frustrated and wanted to be compensated for my time. They offered me free shipping on a future order, which is a total joke since they give free shipping all the time on orders. Another frustrating part was one of the items which was missing was now on backorder and they did not know when it would be sent to me. They acted like they did not care that both my orders had missing items and that it was a total waste of my time to call them. I will not be purchasing from them again - just use Rainbow Resource and Amazon in the future.

We ordered a Funeral Pall on July 5,2022 which was supposed to be delivered Mid July and so far we
Have received at least 6 notices that shipment has been delayed. After calling each time, we were promised we would receive it in about a week. The last notice received yesterday stated it would be delayed until Oct 7,2022... This will probably not happen.
I think they want us to cancel because of a $40 price increase. Be careful if you order from them!

Currently I'm getting spam emails from Christianbook.com every day. I did not sign up with them for emails. May I say, this is not a Christian way to treat people.

I ordered a nice high end Bible, that had a small problem. I emailed my complaint and received a response almost immediately from a real live person. I submitted a photo of the problem yesterday, and this morning the representative very nicely, resolved the problem.
Very impressive!

I purchased The Amplified Version ( of The BIBLE) but, when I received THE "WORD", while checking ( my new? BOOK), I was surprised that the first pages(s) were a little torn! So, I submitted that problem to The Company & I received my quick response & my Blest report: Another BIBLE will be given 2 me, free of cost but! No need of returning The other BIBLE ( slightly distorted) to The Company... yeah! &! I received my new BIBLE on my BirthDay! (05.24.1951)... Praise! THE " LORD"!

Christian Books.com has completely unethical customer service. People who pick up the phone have no respect for customers and are extremely rude. I placed 50 copies of training materials on early Monday and paid extra for two days' shipment. After the order was set, I called to confirm everything was correct, and the guaranteed shipment after two days would be Wednesday. After two days, I received an email stating that 30 copies of my order had partially shipped and the rest 20 copies will be deliver on July 4 (i. E., after three weeks.). I called and spoke to a person named Chris, a person of extreme disregard for customer service. Chris declined to return the extra payment I have made for the expedited shipment. He said the two-day expedite shipment starts when the order has shipped, NOT the date the order has been placed. I had never heard of such expedited delivery before. My order was for Sunday School teachers' training over the weekend. Chris said you could cancel the order and go elsewhere if you want. I had never had such disrespectful customer service, which was very disappointing.
