I will never deal with chapters/indigo again.
The last order I received from them they sent me the wrong book but the packing slip had the right info. Gave the wrong book to coles store. A refund was to be given to me but it was canceled. I lost $ 20.00
Amazon will be getting my business now.

Always good

I've been a shopper at chapters for years. I have never had a problem. In store experiences are good, the store is clean, well stocked, inviting, helpful and knowledgeable staff. My daughter gets overwhelmed easily by shops with loads and loads of stock (ToysRUs is a good example). She finds Chapters Indigo calmer and with less tat on the shelves it is easier for her to choose items. I like the calmness inside the store. It's like an oasis of calm inside a hectic shopping mall, it can feel like a refuge!
On line experiences are good. If it's the same price or cheaper than Amazon I buy here. I like the web site. I have always received anything I have ordered. Delivery times are dependent on Canada Post and during the pandemic that can vary, but it is not the fault of the shop.

Most of my orders have been shipped without problem and/or difficulties. The single most annoying thing I have experienced, however, is when a book is shown as available for purchase and shipment, and when I order it, I recieve an email a couple of hours later saying that book is'nt available anymore. This has happened twice with the same book. I've probably experienced this 5 times during the 4 months of orders I have placed and it's just so annoying.

Mask policy is insane!

The Park Royal Indigo store would not allow me access, even though I was wearing a bandana with two layers of cloth covering my nose and mouth. The people working in the store were wearing single layer masks. Not only have you lost a long time customer, I will steer everyone I know away from the store. I am not an anti-vaxxer, nor an anti-masker, I simply find the behind the ear masks too uncomfortable, so I wear a double layer cloth (that goes right down to my chest, actually covering more of me than their so-called ‘acceptable' masks. Just to be clear I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BOOK FROM INDIGO - EVER!

I have ordered this book awhile go so Indigo goes cheap and just uses Regular mail. You will never see your books. Best wait till the lockdowns is lifted. Customer service is the worst.

Customer surveillance and disrespect for their customers mask exemptions is the new norm. Even though I brought a full face shield they refused to honor that I'm exempt. I will no longer be bringing my grandkids to birthday shop here or do any other shopping. Even though I was miles from any other customer they made a point of hassling me. I prefer to shop where I am treated like a valued customer.

Horrible online service
January 25, 2021

I ordered a book December 31 and it was instock. By January 19 it still hadn't shipped so I called customer service and was told it was in stock in another warehouse and so a message was sent to ship it. January 25 still not shipped and called back only to be told it is still sitting in the warehouse. If I hadn't called, there was no effort by Indigo to get the book shipped. Even with calling it is still sitting there and no real or clear answer as to why it hasn't shipped. This very poor online experience is what drives shoppers to Amazon. Shame on you Indigo for what is beyond $#*!ty online service!

AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL..

Called Chapters December 28,2020 to see if I could pick up 2 books in store... the lady I spoke with said there's no in store shopping because of Covid-19. Because I live 20 minutes away I asked if they have curb side pick up and the lady said, yes but, I have to order on line and pay on line. I went onto the Website and ordered my books that were "In Store" and was told I could not receive curb side pick-up and had to wait for shipping. Because I live so close I ordered my books to be shipped thinking it wouldn't take long...! While tracking my shipment I'm told its going to take 10 days! I don't understand why we cannot order books that are in store and have curb side pick up. I won't be ordering books from Chapters EVER! Lost another customer!

This is the second year in a row that I did not receive my order before Christmas although promised to receive it a week ago. I will never order from Indigo again Luckily I ordered from Amazon 2 days ago & received my purchase this morning... can't do better than that.

Broken promises

I pre ordered a Billie Eilish book on October 1/2020 for my granddaughter for a Christmas gift. The book was released on December 11/2020 and. I was promised a delivery date of December 16/2020. When the book did not arrive I contacted Indigo online and was told... they were sorry and couldn't promise the book before the New Year due to the Christmas rush.
Last year they did the same thing to me.
Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
Never again will I orderbooks from Indigo online.
From now on AmazonPrime or in store purchase only.
By the way I have checked in store at the Indigo stores near me and they havenoBillieEilish books at all.
Sold out.
So my granddaughter will get a picture of a book yet to arrive.
I am disgusted and disappointed in Indigo's shoddy service.
Irate customer.

My order from Chapters had two books that were on sale, one shipped - one didn't (shipper never got it from the seller). Order completed, card charged for two books. Support suggested to go to store and buy the book (at regular price, not sale price) to have it for Christmas. Not able to get the book from store against the actual order (sale price). I will not buy from Chapters ever again, not worth the hassle!

They took almost 180$ out of my account December 1st and no order was placed. After sending bank statements showing the money came out. They finally agreed I was wrongfully charged, this is after spending hours and multiple calls to them. Still waiting for my refund 2 weeks later. I don't think I will see the money returned! Fraud fraud fraud, please be careful. I order with them before but this time it's obvious they are doing bad financially when they steal from their customers. Customer service gave me the run around, every time lying just to get me off the phone.

Online Customer Service

I ordered some items for my kids for Christmas and they did not send one of the items I ordered in the box. I followed up with them and they got back to me right away and seemed like they were willing to help me out. When I asked for a refund as they no longer had my item in stock I stopped hearing from them. I have now sent them 4 emails without any response or a refund.

I reserved a book to be shipped at the Pointe Claire, Quebec store. The email stated it would be in on a given date. I went to the store at said date to find out that they were sold out of the book but had never put my book - day I had paid for - aside. The next day I called and was told my book was not in even though they had received a new shipment (although they kept changing their stories). Eventually I spoke with a manager who condescended to take a book from their inventory and reserve it. She was rude and told me that i did not understand the issues with the pandemic, that it wasd Canada post fault. I said how can it be Canada post's fault if your have copies of the book... She told me in a rude arrogant voice that she says reimbursing the purchase and would understand if I never shopped there again and hung up.
From now on its AMAZON!

Be Cautious

Very disappointed in my recent experience. I ordered a book and was charged immediately in full. Not only did my book not ever arrive but it never even left the store! They refused to refund my money or help in anyway. Extremely dissatisfied. This is theft in my opinion.

Not honoring their advertised discount codes. Charged different amount to credit card than reflected in the cart during purchase. They do allow canceling purchase though, if done immediately. Customer service acknowledging that discount codes might not work for all items, but doing nothing to correct the issue. If the code was not valid for these items, why it showed valid when applied for the cart until after payment? Ended up purchasing the item (needed it and not many shopping options during Covid) without the code but not going to become a repeat customer.
