I was on eBay motors and finally found the exact make/model and accessories. It was a Friday nite. I had 4 action items from eBay motors: 1. Financing 2. Shipping 3 Set up Escrow 4 Vehicle inspection. I got a transportation quote from Uship. Sent a payment for that. Done. Then signed up for escrow so I could send payment. Passed on vehicle inspection. For payment I wanted to arrange a loan with my bank. Then things went south. The shipping company wanted to know exact location of vehicle. No problem. Called Carvana and they tell me that car had been sold to some lady. So now I've already arranged and paid a transportation company, which I now must reverse the transaction. Had to reverse my loan request from my bank. Call eBay motors. They tell me if Carvana has someone shows up at their tower and uses their financing that my transactions and purchasing is out the window. Carvana then tells me there's fraudulent listing on eBay motors and they didn't advertise it there. So now I don't know if I'm dealing with fraud with my eBay Purchase.
So I lost a good chunk of my day calling and discussing the issues. The one good review I do have is the people I talked to at both eBay motors and Carvana were truly trying to help me. So I guessing the Carvana buying process is far from being perfected or there is some sort of listing fraud on the car at eBay motors. Who knows. Don't buy a vehicle online. Vehicle was not purchased due it becoming a cluster mess.

Amazing experience
January 22, 2022

Amazing experience with carvana! Ordering my vehicle was a breeze online with no hidden fees! Their finance company offered me a lower rate then my credit union. I did experience 1 delivery delay but we did get snow and Ice so I can't blame carvana for that. I opted to pick my car up from their vending machine in Richmond, VA. What an amazing experience… soooo cool to watch. The car was detailed and super clean inside and out! My car was even nicer in person then on their website! The guy who handled my paperwork was awesome and explained everything in detail. My car only had 1 key and no front license bracket. The gentleman dealing with my car had already put in tickets to address those issues and get them taken care of without me even having to request them. My car has been registered with DMV already and plates are being sent by FedEx and this is day 10 of having my car! Top notch service! I'm definitely a huge fan!

Rip Off Company! Avoid!
January 20, 2022

I purchased a 2017 vehicle and Extended Warranty in April 2021 from the Carvana in Westminster, California. On the drive home from the delivery, my right front tire blew out.
I called the phone number for the location but was unable to reach the store, instead being answered by a call center. I told them what happened, and they said to bring the car back.
I returned the vehicle that same day and said to cancel the sale. The salesperson convinced me to not cancel the sale by offering to replace the tire, and escorted me and my vehicle to a tire store. The tire store conducted an inspection and said all the tires were legally bald and should have never been delivered that way. He said he needed to order them and an approval to replace all the tires and made an appointment for me to return in a week. They fixed the blown out tire and sent me on my way.
I've now been fighting with Carvana, Silver Rock( the warranty company), and Assurant (extended warranty company) for months trying to get my tires replaced as promised. So far, each company points me to the other company to resolve the issue to no avail.
On top of all that, California DMV said Carvana never paid for the registration instead simply transferring the vehicle to me. I bought the car in April and was charged a full year registration yet I received a bill from California DMV in November for a full year registration.
No one at Carvana will help me so I'm now calling an attorney. It's been over 6 months and nothing has been done.
Avoid this company at all cost!

We financed the car 12/21/21. Everything was good to go. Every time our car was set for pickup or delivery there was an issue and it's not coming! They cannot tell you anything other than transportation problems. Sorry…. No discount, too bad. Our car was supposed to be delivered:
12/27,12/31,1/4,1/10,1/18, and now this Sat 1/22!
I called them furious after this delay. I told them when I hang up with them I am calling my lawyer. NOT a bluff! We are paying $200 week for a rental, already paying on insurance and car payment on a car we don't have! Representative put me on hold, came back offering $750 check. BUT the check will only come AFTER our delivery, AFTER 7 days IF we keep the car, and it will take 45-60 business days minimum! I told them if it is not here Sat 1/22, I am contacting my lawyer.
UPDATE! They are NOT delivering Sat now! Contacting our lawyer.
Everyone having issues…. This is going to be a class action lawsuit for sure.
I have included all text messages of their endless promises and failures.

Buying from Carvana is a nightmare
January 17, 2022

You might think that buying a car in cash would be a fairly straightforward process. No, it becomes a Kafkaesque maze of bank holds, oddly scolding customer service representatives, and delays. The arbitrary deadlines that are imposed are just weird. There is no leeway should the bank put a hold on a $25,000 transfer, which they are obligated to do. However Carvana will literally reprimand you the customer for not working in their timeframe of purchase. You might think that a company would be more than accommodating for you the customer to hand them said amount of cash, but no. Because you did not finance it, they don't make as much. This is to say nothing about the complete lack of communication from the representatives, or between the app and website for that matter. It is seriously infuriating to deal with them. Try to edit or look at a certain part of the purchase agreement and, bam! Now you must reschedule the delivery, or start the purchase over. I would seriously advise shopping elsewhere.

With the pandemic, lack of car inventory and inflation, buying a vehicle right now is more difficult than ever. Carvana made it simple with on-line purchase and friendly delivery. The exact car I wanted did arrive late, but with proper communication and in great condition. I am still in the 7 day trial period, so will repost if anything changes.

Garbage site. Buy from a more reputable place.
January 7, 2022

I was set to have my car delivered. Paid for insurance for the vehicle, submitted and was approved for financing. Due to me being out of state during the scheduled delivery, I had to reschedule for the following week. They made me reschedule by phone.
Checked on the app to reconfirm the delivery time a few days later and turns out that the car was in the process of being sold to another person.
This is a $#*!show of a business.
Don't waste your time or money!

Delivery delays
January 7, 2022

When I first signed up to get a car with carvana, I was told I would get it in a couple days. They keep postponing the delivery. More than 10 delays and one month later I am still waiting for actual delivery.

Choose your drop off date
January 7, 2022

Not sure why they offer this as an option They can't deliver a vehicle on time. I took time off of work to wait for my new car only for them to cancel the drop off date two days before hand. Needless to say the transaction was cancelled but not at no cost as my credit took a hit.

Please stay away from this horrible company. They make it look like you have to just load a few things if you want to sell to them, but they will come back five times asking you to redo things, they're missing this, they're missing that. Since they have gotten into all kinds of trouble not checking titles, legal issues, they did not mention that my car that was originally from another state needed to now transfer title, that's their issue, not mine. I'm at almost 25 hours of working with them and they can't seem to buy my car or sell me one.

They do a lot of sleazy and dirty tactics to sell you a car. They don't mention that they are going to demand all kinds of bank statements and pay stubs and they're going to call you bank. They don't mention any of that in the beginning. Any other car place runs your credit, quick test drive and the car is yours in an hour.

This has been a complete disaster and time waster for me, please, please please stay away

Worst Experience
December 27, 2021

To my knowledge Carvana is supposed to make your buying experience easier then going to a dealership, well that is definitely not the case. I placed a hold on a vehicle I was interested in purchasing before it became available to the public. I waited for the email telling me the vehicle is available and to proceed with my purchase, once I received that email I proceeded to remove the freezes off my credit reports to move forward with my purchase. At that point I am unable to move forward because according to Carvana it takes their system 3 business days to reflect the credit freeze was lifted. Then they proceeded to tell me that they could extend my hold so I can purchase the vehicle but I needed to call back on 12.25 (Christmas Day). Of course I call back on that day to find out that they are closed. Needless to say I was unable to purchase the vehicle due to the negligence of one of their employees. I have always kept a freeze on my credit report and unlock when I want to run my credit and have never encountered this issue. I will no longer shop with Carvana!

Carvana Westmi...
I got offer from Carvana online for my Subaru for
$18,800. When I came to its office at Wesminster. A
Guy named Dan did not even look at me though he
Know I was the one the car he was supposed to help
Me out. He went to do his 'job' and just talked to me
When I came to him and told him I have an
Appointment. Very disappointed at the first sight.
And then he went to inspect my car and said they
Could not take the car today because the condition
Is 'not great' as I input. What happened with my car
As he showed me were some scratches and dents
From front, rear and a little bit at the trunk gate. He
Told me to change the condition from 'great' to 'ok'
And I did. What happened next is the website was
Not responding for a while when I tried to re
Appraisal my car again. Can you believe it? It was
Then still $14,800 offered. The price went down for
Nearly $4000 for just condition as showed above.
I'm went away immediately. What they showed was
They seemed to ignore customers who want to sell
Cars to them to squeeze more profit right away
When you get their facility. So DON'T SELL OR BUY
CARS FROM CARVANA. They're scammed and that's
Why they re willing to have customers to return cars
After buying because they buy cheap and sell
Expensive. A very terrible experience. They offer you
A fake price when you sell your cars and when you
Get there, they make it much lower. I did see many
Reviews online but when I had my own transaction,
Can prove what people disappoint is very true.

I went to Carvana dealership in Lawrence Township NJ with an appointment and an estimate of $7886 for my 2006 Lexus. Gave Saleswoman my VIN. Saleswoman ran a "check" on the credit rating of my car through Experian. Then proceeds to show me a report that there is a mileage differential when registered in NJ and so the mileage on my car could not be trusted. She said I had to go to DMV and straighten it out as it would result in "thousands" of dollars off value of car. She also said it could take 3 months to clear the problem. I asked for a copy of the "report" she was showing me and she stuttered and said she couldn't give me a copy. I left and called Lexus dealership in Doylestown. Chris took the VIN number over the phone and offered $8000. I went right to the dealership, Chris inspected my car, and wrote me a check. All in half an hour. The Experian credit check is a total scam to get your price lowered by "thousands". My car was originally purchased by my mother and then I had it. There was no mileage deception. I will be reporting this fraudulent business practice to the authorities.
Go to a dealership with a good reputation!

I think this is a balanced and fair review. A lot of reviewers gripe and fume about the poor customer service. It is true, but not because of the employees, but because of the Carvana programmitic organization that is created by its management in the long middle game of trying to close the deal. You cannot reach out to anyone specific - you are shuttled between a robot chat, random chat people, and folks called advocates that have varying degrees of talent. Often there is nothing they can do until Carvana systems align to allow them to deliver their product. Apparently they are popular and keep getting enough business that management does not pay attention to the gripes, even to this day. Regardless of responses to comments, they are obviously largely canned responses and not real, or else I would not be giving them a 3 our of 5. Two days ago I would have given them a 1 or a 2. Finally I got my car and the delivery person was exceptional, even though she was 40 minutes late. Bottom line is that people ordering from Carvana simply need to re-align their expectations. It is a non-personal middle-man service that is not keen on listening to you. But if you are patient then their mechanical system will likely eventually come through. If you know that going into the deal you will be a lot less frustrated. Meanwhile, competitors are ripe to steal the business if they can just add a little bit more personal service.

Traded in my car and got a good price $17k, added an additional $7K to complete purchase. Decided after 2 days that I don't like the car so I picked another one and no problem scheduled delivery of 2nd car and pick up of 1st. While on the phone the rep said you can watch the website and if you see something you like more you can always change it out before delivery. I found what i really wanted, started the purchase online so wouldn't get snatched up, called customer service to make sure all the funds would be applied to this car and they told me " So sorry your deal has to be rebuilt and it will take 20-40 BUSINESS DAYS to do anything with your account. " I can't get my money back until then. What about the 7 day money back guarantee? The car I finally found was an additional $3K you would think they would want to make a sale, i didn't give them the additional money since they have basically frozen my account.,. I can't return the car I don't want to the local Carvana. I have to keep it and I am responsible for it (insurance, storage) until they let me know when they are coming to get it. In the agreement I got when took possession of the car it says they will pick up the vehicle the next business day as long as it's within the 7 day window. I am without a vehicle and $24k. 20 to 40 business days could be 2 months! Merry F*****g Xmas from Carvana

Not a pleasant buying experience
December 16, 2021

Wow. Just wow. The car was delivered dirty with mud on tires, door sills, and seats. The front right tire was underinflated and had a gash in sidewall, the rear view mirror cover was completely missing, and the passenger windshield wiper arm was misaligned. Someone sprayed the driver door arm rest with black spray paint (this is on a $60,000 when new car)! The rims were spray painted (poorly), and had silver over spray on the rubber valve stems! WTF. There was a 780 mile discrepancy on the odometer from when the photos on Carvana were taken until the vehicle was dropped off in my driveway. I purchased a new tire online ($250.00) and had it installed, a new mirror cover from Audi ($42.95) that I installed, and bought a wiper arm puller from Advance Auto ($15.99) and removed and realigned the wiper arm in my yard.
SilverRock did reimburse me for the tire and mirror cover I purchased, but I never should have to replace those items on a new vehicle purchase. The 150 point checklist by Carvana before the vehicle left the facility obviously was not performed on my car. My head hurts from reliving the traumatic experience that I endured from this vehicle purchase. I honestly lost count of the number of times I called and rehashed the buying scenario with Carvana advocates. Now I am dealing with registration issues and questions that remain unanswered by Carvana advocates. I cannot, with a clear conscience, recommend that you purchase a vehicle from Carvana. I understand that hiccups happen in the car buying process, but this entire ordeal was nerve wracking and frustrating.
