We started a page for my husband as he went thru a cancer diagnosis and treatment. But only learned by accident that the site solicits donations and it appears you are donating to that specific persons page, but NO! It's all income for the company. I complained to their customer service and was given a very canned answer, which was unhelpful. And then told me that refunds can be requested for donations. So I reached out to those that donated and let them know, and the process to reclaim their $$, but SURPRISE! No one would answer the phone!
I deleted my page completely. I am so disgusted that this site would take advantage of people in this deceptive way. Based on what I was told by friends and family, Caring Bridge made about $650! That could have been used for medical costs!
Used CaringBridge to update family/friends during daughters NICU stay. Had great tools and was easy to use. I liked the Journal the most.
CaringBridge is a site for loved ones to get updates while a person is recovering from an illness. The site keeps sending me emails saying there are new journal comments when there are not. The site asks for money to support it self but it is a bit misleading. Some people have donated to the site thinking they are donating to to the ill person.
