I used this site last year to book my first retreat to Thailand. The site was really straight forward and easy to use. They have so many different retreats to choose from it can be hard to find the right one, and it said that a lot of packages were available when they weren't but that turned out to be because the retreat centre did not keep their info up to date. However it was a great first retreat experience, and now I'm back looking for my next trip to India on an Ayurvedic retreat!
Used this website to book a yoga & meditation retreat. The site was easy to use and showed several super nice retreats. I was at first a bit surprised to read that I had to wait for the retreat people to confirm that they actually had a spot for me. They were however pretty quick in getting back to me so all was fine. The retreat was wonderful! I felt so rested and calmn afterwards! Especially because of the amazing teacher (Ali and Paula). Cant wait to go again!
Hi Marie,

I agree with the rest of the reviews, this is just a bad platform. They advertise their offer with "only one spot available" when no other spots are taken, or "one of the best rated retreat in the area" when in fact it's the first time the retreat is ever supposed to be held etc.
Dear Mora,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our service. We aim to be the world's leading marketplace to discover, plan and safely book unique travel experiences so your feedback is very important to us.
We do have messaging that refers to the amount of guaranteed availability we offer for some retreats, in a couple of places on the site. There we do share, for your benefit, the number of 'guaranteed' spots we have which are instantly bookable should you prefer to secure a spot immediately, but you can still make bookings on request as you choose, or after finding out any extra information you might need through our platform which connects you directly to have a conversation with any organizer.
We also highlight frequently booked retreats as 'popular' in order to help our customers choose from the vast selection we have.
However the messaging examples you gave are not quite like anything we have. For example we do not currently use the wording "only one spot available" or "best rated retreat" anywhere on our site, so we're wondering if you are mixing us up with another website.
Hopefully you were able to find and book a unique travel experience with us. Feel free to reach out if you need assistance:-)
Best Regards
Diana

This company does not use any vetting process what so ever. I arrived to a very unstable situation. The whole program from the top down was not at all what was advertised or anticipated. Several people who booked this retreat and arrived after myself had left and demanded money back. You are better off to find a program and verify and book through them.
I booked at 5 day Ayurvedic cooking / yoga retreat with Renuatum Spa in Puerto Rico. Many things that were promised were not provided. There were no cooking classes,
There were only two meals per day as opposed to three advertised, and the accommodations that were described as "luxury" were not.
After returning from the retreat, I wrote a review giving zero stars and I know at least 3 other retreaters wrote reviews describing their experience as being poor. Unfortunately, I know two out of three did not book through bookyogaretreats so their reviews were not published. In spite of my zero star review, info of bad experiences with two other people and a phone call with another retreater, BYR still gives Renuatam Spa an excellent rating. They only have 9 ratings so mine should have had some sort of impact but it didn't.
I don't think I'll book through BYR ever again since I cannot trust their ratings. I will always look to TripAdvisor or other sites for reviews of any retreat that I consider in the future.
Answer: The reviews, I have now learnt that they may be great when business is going well but can not function as a business with integrity when faced with cancellations. Especially with COVID19.
Answer: They can be responsive if they want but can also ignore you indefinitely
