I was counselling a guy on some matter. He asked my name and country. I told him that i am from Pakistan and my name is azeem. My dad called me so i told him to wait for a minute. When i came back he started callling my country a terrorist country and called me a bastard. Not going back there
So I've been to this site several times before as both a listener and a center and its a joke. I keep hoping that when I go back I will have a different experience but I'm always disappointed. As a listener I've felt better about it because I actually was able to speak and help someone with real issues... as a venter not do much... everyone I encounter is 14 with no life experience or the listener is only concerned with my asl or hooking up. This site could be amazing. People helping people and saving lives. Instead all I have is anger and frustration to pile on top of my sadness and suicidal thoughts. Thanks for nothing.
Everyone is right, most of the people on this site are total TROLLS! Plus, they are also mostly between the ages of 13-18 and can't help with any real problems! I have had so many users disconnect after just saying hello. This site causes more anger and depression than it does in letting people vent. Hire a volunteer staff of people who have actually graduated high school to address people's needs! AWFUL SITE!
Can't let off steam for even one minute on your site because you only have trolls during the day. Unfortunately, your site is a waste of thought and time for anyone looking to use it for it's advertised purpose.

Too many trolls, it really feels bad when you're venting and someone says 'Lol you're so stupid you $#*! Ing $#*! You're miserable'

I came to this site because I was having an issue with my husband. This site was a place that I thought I could go to vent when family, friends, therapists are not available. After pouring my heart out, the listener said, "take a hint you dumb f*ck, your husband does not want you!" and disconnected. It was a terrible feeling to get from a place that is supposed to be for support.
"Meh." I would say the majority of my time I have to spend finding someone who seems decent, who won't be a crass sob and who won't disconnect the chat leaving me wasting more time trying to find soneone else to cry on the proverbial electronic shoulder of. Bunch of pin$#*!s and then when I was the one to disconnect someone who seemed questionable and subsequently went back on only to get connected with that same idiot again, I was a "$#*!." Really. Could not hit the report button fast enough to do just that. Will wate my time somewhere else. $#*! it and in the meantime $#*! I am if I have to disconnect someone myself to avoid trolled or harrassed.
Three words for each attempt: full of $#*!s. The site tells you you can vent your problems to total strangers, and I'm sure somewhere it says, "Oh, don't worry! We're all friends here!" But I was going through some insane trouble a while back and wanted to get it off my chest. I connect to someone who seems neutral at first but eventually grows bored with my story. The second person suggested I "grow some balls," and the third said he didn't even care. How's that for friendly? Paid therapists are much better, even if they are only in it for the cash. Think again before you decide to drop your burdens here.
AT FIRST:
The first place where I could help others without having to have a phd. Also the first free counseling site I could find online that did not ask for your credit card number, that is if you chose to "vent to a stranger". Also, when you do this, it is anonymous and that feels very safe. I have also seen many different kinds of individuals here. I love it.
That was my FIRST impression.
Very soon, I realized that (and I am not alone) it was a place where I got continually sexually harrassed, trolled, had head games played with me, and then when I complained, I was ignored. I then got upset and expressed myself on my profile under "what's new", then someone got angry with me about it.
If you can't be yourself on a site designed to make you feel better because of fear of being lashed out at, harrassed, verbally abused and castigated, why bother here?
I have reduced the rating from a 4 to a 1!
Blah, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR WAYS! This may lead to the OPPOSITE of your original goal here. I can't come to a place to be hurt MORE! Okay?
