This company is such a scam! I signed up with them because I'm a new business owner and knew Yelp was a popular review site. For 5 days 5 different people searched for my key words and not only did my ad not show up my salon didn't even show in the natural search! Then I get told "sorry, I want there so there is nothing I can do about it." I sent them screen shots as proof and then i get "I'll try to look into it. I'll talk to other people and see what they say." People outside of my country clicked my ad! So for 5 days the only exposure that i had, that i was depending on wasn't there and all i get is I'm sorry. I'm just waiting for my ad.iq team to kick in. Save yourself the money and stress and find a real marketing team to help with your business. There are plenty out there that have the strength to build up your business and internet presence.
Yelp hounded me for years to join up with their advertising program. I refused for two reasons. The year-long contract and the fact that at the end of the month I would have to pay for the amount of clicks I received whether or not it resulted in a customer. I'm not a gambler so I always refused. I didn't want to owe them any money at the end of the month in case the clicks did not turn into a customer. Then they called me with this new program, no annual contract and I could tryf*** a $300 a month limit half of which would be paid for with the introductory $150 free clicks or something. Two months later I get a bill for over $500! I lost the dispute. When I called the company and had them walk me through what they claimed I agreed to they took me to the sign-in page and showed me where I clicked on agreeing to the $450 amount ro which they added another $90 for something or other. Here's the problem I never EVER did this and I don't know who did it but I surely did not agree to this amount. I have NO memory of going to this page and signing up and I have a good memory. SO STAY AWAY. RUN if a salesperson contacts you.
I gave Yelp a chance and the account executive did NOT say that the per-click price would change, yet alone from $4 to $17 per click. Also once you create a business listing they refuse to remove it. None of this is clearly defined in any contract and was ABSOLUTELY not stated in any of the multiple lengthy phone calls or emails that transpired. Luckily an ATM ate the card I used so they'll have to come after me in collections but I will absolutely fight the fact that they used deceptive and untrue measures to get me to commit to a service that couldn't possibly live up to their empty guarantees. HORRIBLE. I urge everyone to go to the Better Business Bureau and complain. I might even start a class action lawsuit.
Full face photo, no exception, in order to respond to reviews of our business. Most of the employees at our hotel are female, including our clerk in charge of PR. We have had instances in the past when unhappy guests have taken it too far, one girl got stalked by a man who said she overcharged him on purpose and another harassed via phone. We live in a small town, it's not hard to find out where someone lives. The response? Full photo, no exceptions. This business has no care in the world for employee safety.
I have been contacted by Yelp several times and told that they would help increase my business and I decided I would give it a try. I signed up my business and was told that I would only pay for the clicks that I received and at first it was looking ok, but on the last day of the month when they seen that they were only going to make a modest amount of money because I didn't have a large amount of clicks all of a sudden the last day of the month they show 21 clicks so they could make more money. My bill went from $83 for the month to over $223. Don't use this if you don't want to be ripped off.
It's about time yelp has had repercussion's for their shady business and high pressure sales tactics. Lucky I only lost $170 with them (it seems that many people have lost much more). When I first read some of these reviews I didn't think their experience would be my experience but after a month it definitely has been. I got sucked into a month of advertising on a $300 promotional. After they up sold me to an enhanced profile - by the end of the month I was somehow down $170 with absolutely no leads whatsoever. I even ended my campaign early because I was seeing no results and my card was still charged this amount! Avoid these people! Totally useless. Do not trust what their sales representative says. Do not give in to the high pressure sales tactics they use.
I just had 2 back to back customers do positive reviews for me and Leather Creations-Buford, Ga. They've now been taken down and placed on the no recommended listing of reviews. These were legitimate reviews, one of a customer who had just bought and another, who appreciated a service call I took, they were on 09/25 & 09/26/18. I will do Google reviews in the future and not support yelp. What is the point of a good review, if the review company takes it down?
Absolutely disgusting. Am flooded with calls & emails from various reps for paid Yelp ads are for nothing. Worse, Yelp has screwed up 2 of my business listings. For one it has linked a business incorrectly to a non-profit in the same industry & refuse to remove the address. When people click on my business they are directed to another business. So all of my reviews look like they belong to another company. For a second business they have reverted my listing to one of a prior phone number & location from several years ago & again refuse to change the address information or even remove the incorrect information. Yelp wants copies of a business license to change this, however I do not operate under one. My business cards do not have an address as this is 2018 & my work is done online and this is 2018. Utterly disgusting. AVOID AVOID AVOID
The sales people for Yelp should be ashamed of who they are and what they represent. AWFUL! Lies, lies and more lies and no answers to my questions. I have finally removed my CC card so they would stop charging me. Over $700 in less than a few weeks and not one new client. No answers to my emails and no response to my questions. These shysters are ill informed and have no soul.
In the past years I would always receive calls from yelp rep offering me to upgrade and improve my business on yelp but many times I would tell them that I would call back when I'm interested and ready. So back in July I get a call again from Yelp this time offering me a promotion about "yelp leads" and that it's free! For the first months and that I would start paying from August and onwards and rep told me that I could withdraw from the program at anytime. So joined the program but I would discover in july that I had an outstanding balance on my account so when I called to inquire about this it turns out that I'm getting charged for July but paying it in August that's "what free for the first moths means to yelp". So when I told yelp that I was told it was free and that the rep offered me this as a promo they still told I have to pay then I told them to transfer me to the same rep who offered me the promo so I can clarify with him and they still refused to transfer me because it's a call center. So at the end I still had to pay for something that I was told it was going to be free. A lesson to learn from any corporation is when they want to grab you to join them they will appear very easy going but after you join them and they get money they would start to get tough on you. As a matter of fact when I spoke to the rep back in July who offered me the promo I asked him to at least email me so information pertaining to the promo so I can have it on paper he told me that there isn't and that I can refer to the website. Yelp is a scam and a horrible company to deal with. I recommend everyone not to deal with them.
I am a small business owner. First of all, i was just told that i would get $300 of free ads from a call. This lady was like... your business is getting worse. We can help you by updating our searches so your business can show up during the summer. I agreed to the free ands and updating the search. I never agreed to getting charged 400 twice for advertising. NO ONE TOLD ME IT WAS THAT EXPENSIVE! Seriously, what is wrong with this company for not disclosing what you are being charged for? Would get a lawyer if they keep charging me monthly for the services I never asked for.
I advertised with yelp for 1 year. The review process is a total joke, meaning when people review your business. I have 13 reviews that you can review, about my service. Yelp has the ability to take down reviews as they call not recommended. I have 16 5 star reviews that they consider " not recommended ". Of the 13 they do recommend 2 are fictitious, 1 star, and 1 is from a area more than 4000 miles away. An area we do not service. They, Yelp, recommends 1 star reviews that are written by fictitious customers and remove from public viewing better ratings. The advertising pricing is rather step for a top search placement. I would never recommend or use yelp again. They are at best a poor run business. Also you can not post a review about yelp on yelp?..
Like many others that I see on here I was duped into paying for yelp advertisements. I will end up paying $500 for not having a single lead. The site does not do anything for you and charge you enormous amounts for mysterious clicks that do not amount to any business lead generation. I cannot say it strong enough: STAY AWAY FROM YELP BUSINESS ADVERTISING
A Yelp salesman called me asking me to pay for online presence. I agreed to pay 70 sudden R dollars a month but was never mentioned about a paper click and don't even realize it until they tried to charge me almost $400 for 1 month averaging $37 per click when I do bail bonds we all know that I'm gonna get lots of calls so that would not be a smart decision however they seem to think that I agreed to it. I already work in a shady industry but these guys are more like criminals than my clients. After I called him out on it he got cocky with me so he must be used to this. They are used to dealing with clients that are unsatisfied... if you look at my businesses the 5 stars. I deliver what I say
Here are just a few nouns that describe their business practices-
- Deceptive
- Lousy
- Scummy
- Vile
- Vomitous
- Noxious
- Worthless
Too bad the employees don't seek out productive employment. This place must be chock full of H*illa-ry supporters
The girl from yelp called me while i was driving and would not hang up even though i told her i was behind the wheel, in fact she had me type things into my search engine! Long story short i was so distracted by her that i got pulled over at a school zone. Insane.
Yelp, how are getting away with this. Legitimate reviews were discounted and reviews from direct competitors are featured front and center; I have a review of my business posted on yelp from a woman (direct competitor) who showed up to a yoga workshop in a mini skirt, disrupted the class by talking about how hung over she was and then wrote a review. When I asked yelp to remove the review as it is a breach of their policies, they refused and tried to force me to sign up with them. Yelp, not in a million years, would I do business with you. Seriously messed up.
The irony that Yelp actually has the worst customer service is more than funny, its sad. Their sales people stalk you like a cult. They are relentless in harassing you until you sign up. They promise everything and as soon as you sign up and give them your credit card, they disappear. They don't pick up the phone for support but they do for sales. If they have a resolution to your issue, it will come with an additional fee. Its so upsetting to get hustled by a service that's supposed to encourage better service, better business & customer relationships. Not with Yelp. They are just as shady as any crooked business out there, if not worse.
Offered credit for charges and never honored the credit. They then decided to charge over $300. Called, they state there is nothing they can do. Horrible service.
As a new business, Yelp will send you this wonderful offer of $300 in bonus advertising credit. What they fail to tell you is that the $300 is spread out over 6 months, and during that time they will be screwing you in the back. Within less than 15 days, I paid Yelp $655. I'm a small business; it was a HUGE LOSS for me. Also, it would have been nice if Yelp actually sent me business inquires. Their analytics show a total of 70 clicks on my ad (costing between $8.96-10.38 per click), but I never received a call from anyone telling me they found me through Yelp. And as a new business owner, I always ask. I saw all of the charges too late. When you call them, they tell you this is what you signed -up for for. "Cold Sneers" is what you feel across the telephone line. They are cruel, scammers, heartless, and evil! Run, Run Fast and Never Look Back!
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
