I wouldn't even give 1 star! Absolutely disgusting and non existent customer service. Absolutely shocking so don't buy from them because once they have your money they no longer want contact with you. Shop sales person was fine, but customer service was atrocious. Write a letter recorded delivery and it was signed for, but still no contact. They have had the bed back (all £3000 worth) but no sign of a refund. Absolutely gutless. How they can be allowed to get away with such poor service is beyond me.
Pathetic no bed no refund no text no phone call no email. Keep you waiting in days after days 5 months now no bed no refund no explanation
I paid in full for bed had to wait 2 months for delivery was given a am time slot someone stayed in all day. Delivery was so late we thought it wasn't coming no phone call or email total radio silence when delivery came no bed.
Since then I have been left sleeping on the floor I can not get bensons to respond no bed no money no response. PayPal are involved still no response trading standards still no response. No bed no money no response. Stay well clear criminal
1 Star is generous Totally dis organised company. No customer service either in store or from customer services. Waiting 10 weeks for a reply about my bed that was delivered faulty. Reply never came chased and chased during that time. Not until I sat down in a store and would not move until they sorted something. Was advises it would be at least 12 further weeks before replacement could be sent. However if I was a new customer then they would get the same bed to me within six weeks. In my opinion they are in big trouble and I would not risk my money in case they went pop.
Please be warned but I hope your experience is better that mine.
PS they store staff have their hand tied and will only point you to customers services. Stick to you guns and shout and scream
The worst experience I have ever had with any company! Everything from the moment my payment was collected was a nightmare. My items weren't delivered for months (it was supposed to arrive 22 Feb and we are 13th April now), with delivery date moving 1 day before it was supposed to arrive 4 times! No one communicated anything with me, it was impossible to reach out to customer service. I was calling and waiting for 40-60 minutes and gave up multiple times, requested a call back that NEVER came, wrote multiple emails that were NOT answered. I had to live for weeks on the floor because my bed hasn't arrived and keep my belongings in boxes because my wardrobe has't arrived too. This company doesn't care about the customer, is not reliable and all they want is to take your money.
I am disgusted with the way Benson beds treated my daughter with a resent order she ordered two beds for her children and only received one they tried to explain that they delivered two after a lot of arguing they said sorry your right that they only delivered the one now she has to wait another month for the other one my daughter went against my advise I told her what a bad company you are
2 premium mattresses from them. Both very uncomfortable, not at all like the one in the showroom. Use the same excuse over and over, that's because lots of people have been laying on them. Disagree completely. If that was the case they would be sagging, not sumptuous andabd very comfortable. Also there us the question of covid. Being told the mattresses had been on the shop floor for over a year, health and safety surely? People with covid could have laid on them disgusting service, should have gone somewhere else. Homeserve will never admit there us a manufacturing fault. All a scam.
After signing the petition, I wanted to add my voice to the many here with a negative experience of this diabolical company. I can't fault my in store experience, but once a problem occurred post payment, things deteriorated rapidly. Basically, the store loaded the wrong (Firm) variant of the (Medium) mattress I ordered and paid for back in October. The store manager had told me to come to him first if I had any problems with delivery, so I called him. Despite having paperwork proof which he himself signed, he was hostile from the outset and said there was no way "he" had made a mistake. He messed me around for a few weeks pretending to deal with my request to send the correct mattress, only to dump me via a carefully timed voicemail (when he knew I was unavailable) saying he was too busy to deal with it and I had to start again from scratch with Customer Services. The first person I spoke to started fairly well but wouldn't action my request to exchange mattresses before speaking with the very store manager who not only had chucked me over the fence to them in the first place, but also hadn't even bothered to write notes on my order to give Customer Services a head start on this. She wanted to investigate my story to basically confirm if I was, or was not, a liar and if I was they would refuse to exchange the mattress for the one I actually ordered and have paperwork to prove it! How insulting is this? She / they missed their own deadline for investigating and then went incommunicado for over 4 weeks until I emailed them again, having failed to get through on their 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri call line for 20 working days straight (I'm limited to my lunch hour only for personal calls). I had a reasonable response which still wouldn't accept any responsibility but as a "gesture of goodwill" the mattress I actually ordered and paid for, would actually be sent to me, but I'd have to first speak to the very store that cocked it up in the first place. What kind of "Customer Service", is this? I pushed back and, reasonably, asked them to call the store and notify me of the date of exchange as I'd take a day off work to fit around them. Since then, the lazy so and so's have done nothing at all and are now completely, wilfully, systematically and deliberately ignoring me and 3.5 months on from first raising this issue, I am still without the mattress that I in "good faith" ordered and paid for. Even emailing them with the CEO - Mark Jackson - and other senior Bensons managers, has had no effect and I still can't get through on their infernally restricted Customer Service call line. Bensons for Beds are in a category of their own where Customer Service is concerned, as there are no words in English I can think of to drive home how abysmal and ethically and morally challenged they are. My perception of their culture is that it is deplorable, and the stress they put on their customers who have simple to fix problems that any other company on the planet would resolve quickly, is inexcusable. I have a nightly reminder, after all, that I am still not able to sleep on the mattress I paid for months ago, and how unimportant and insignificant I am and how utterly powerless I am to do anything about their childish "I'm ignoring you, ha ha, what are you going to do about it?" tactics. Please count me available to do anything and everything to bring them to account for the unignorable and growing number of complaints out there.
Rubbish delivery. Delivery time slot is 7am to 6pm.
If your miss their call(3 times in same minute). They will just skip and rearrange your full paid bed to be delivered 10 days later. Tried to call to delivery team and ask for any sooner delivery time, the lady answering my phone very rude and not even trying to help. So enough after paid two months before but still need to wait 10 more days.
Never use them again in my life.
This is the worst ever company I have ever dealt with. 2 fault mattresses both delayed deliveries! Had to chase for the second mattress, it arrived and was faulty within 5 days, the Benson's sag as many people are calling it. Benson's agreed a refund... but this has not happened! Still waiting for our money. It takes over an hour if you are lucky to get through to customer services. Steer clear of this company. Buy from an independent.
Benson for beds is a joke!
I purchased a igel advanced 2500 back in November 2021 for a delivery date of 1st February but it never arrived so I contacted customer support for them to tell me they was very sorry that it has not arrived and that the mattress, headboard and pullows are ready for delivery just not the base.
They then said the bed will arrive on the 23rd March, today is the 23rd of March and the bed has not arrives so I have just got off the phone to customer support for them to tell me the bed will be delivered on the 6th April and there is nothing they can do apart from offer me a good gesture of will when the bed finally arrives.
I would avoid bensons and go elsewhere or get used to sleeping on the floor.
Waited months for a bed frame and mattress, not for just the bed frame to be delivered. Took a days holiday to wait in for this also now they want us to go without a mattress for another 4 weeks. When you ring for help you get put on hold for hours only to have them hang up when you get to number 1 in the queue. Must be because everyone's complaining about your rubbish beds and poor service. My teenage son has no bed to sleep on now. Can't talk to anyone but il be contacting consumer rights, trading standards and my bank as you sold this product to me and have failed to deliver or even communicate
Ordered divan bed. Wanted 4 drawers in base. Bed came 6 weeks after ordered. 2 drawers are not fit to use, runners missing. Telephoned customer services on hold for over an hour to be cut off before speaking to anyone. Rang again and asked for a call back. Lady called she ordered bed runners for drawers. These will be sent through post and I have to fix them on myself! For a bed that cost just under a £1000 this is disgraceful
Spent £1300 on a Bensons 'Bespoke' mattress and was told how wonderful it was in branch. Little did I know only 4 months on it was going to cause me to be awake in agony every night. It's completely collapsed were we both lay the springs are clearly faulty it's like laying in a hammock. Wrote to Benson who completely ignored our email and clearly don't care. Utter crap!
I would give them negative stars if I could.
Went to the York shop on 03/10/2021, on a Sunday and considered ordering 2 sets of bedframes, mattresses, headboards and wardrobes. Key requirement was that must not be DIY and must be assembled. We were categorically repeatedly told by 2 salesmen that this was the case.
We hesitated initially as were unsure if needed mattress recycling service. 2 of the salesmen immediately reassured us and encourage to go ahead as any changes can be done over the telephone.
In the shop repeatedly promised everything except one double ottoman frame was assembled for us, everything in in stock and given a delivery date of 19/11/2021. The double ottoman was light weight and came in 2 pieces which simply hooked on to each other.
There is restricted space here.
What followed is a nightmare which is still ongoing
- Rang next day and cancelled mattress recycling worth 45.00 but still remained after a few weeks. Rang to be told we misunderstood and needs to go back to the stores
Gradually what unraveled was delivery date was cancelled without any message or reason, part of the furniture delivered and told after delivery all self assembly despite repeatedly telling us over the phone and in person that wasn't the case as that was make or break for us.
Incompatible parts so unable to assemble.
Kingsized mattress delivered no delivery date for the frame at all as manufacturers delay as of on the 22/11/21.
Rude, unhelpful salesmen lied through their teeth just to get our business, denied every conversation and told we misunderstood not one but several conversations, as they know better. We are 2 professionals, we heard and understood everything right, repeatedly and we have no reason to lie.
Essentially what we see when we look back is that goods bring sold using false and misleading information followed by, failure to deliver goods, failure to provide services as promised and failure to make any attempts to resolve the situation.
More over, at every contact they denied absolutely everything and essentially calling us liars and making us feel like beggars.
Please note above is the shorter version of what happened and how we feel!
We sent an email with an official complaint and a request for resolution by either cancelling the bed-frame or an alternate bed-frame, on the 11/12/2021 followed by a reminder on the 22/12/2021. To date no response.
What is also surprising is that when we were experiencing all these issues there were many complaints like ours on various websites all of which have magically disappeared!
So please do not fall for these people. Take your business elsewhere.
Terrible quality mattresses and terrible company to speak to regarding after care. X2 matteresses worth 3k combined went in the skip after 6 months!
Bought a king size bed, it went faulty within weeks. Bensons said bed was end of production and gave us a credit note to buy another bed. Next bed was worse. Credit note was more than the bed, they kept the difference. Bed faulty. Investigator said bed was sagging but needed to sag more. No swapout. Went on Rip Off Britain and Benson's completely ignored the TV program. The mattress was dumped on Rochdale's municipal dump. Waste of big money. The base had to be repaired by me using plywood. Dishonest company. Avoid.
I had a bed and headboard delivered today when opened they both were water damaged when the delivery men brought it in, they said water had got into the delivery van.
I went to set it up and found there was no feet to go on it.
I then tried to put the headboard on and the screws with it were too small and just fell through. I am now waiting for a new bed to be delivered in 4-6 weeks.
The only reason I set it up is that I have no choice, I'd be sleeping on the floor.
I originally ordered a different bed in January and cancelled in March as I kept getting delayed delivery emails.
Have been trying to stop and recover costs that creation have been taking out of my account for a item that was returned in March 2020.
Between bensons for beds and creation they have been sending me back and forth saying it's the other parties fault.
Now I have been on the phone for months trying to resolve this but their team is limited apparently as to what they can do. I have call logs, times and dates detailing the whole process. It's beyond ridiculous, I'm being sent round in circles!
Cash book aren't replying to any of the emails, even when the customer service people are labelling it urgent. £193.16 has been taken from my account by creation because bensons for beds hasn't taken off a headboard I sent back in 2020.
This headboard was £287.99, I confirmed in store with an associate and via email that this was taken off the remaining balance owed. This had not been done and the two parties are refusing to admit in the wrong.
Besides this, when we actually got the mattress and frame it was soiled, wet and dirty. We had to wait over a month for a replacement. The van was letting in rain water and the delivery drivers dragged £1100s worth of goods along the floor, this tore the packaging.
The frames packaging was already ripped and was soaked down one side, it left it stained. They didn't take it back so had to have a king size bed and frame sitting in my front room. We got rid of our bed so had to sleep on the mattress for a month!
It's been a year on and my mattress is dipping! I'm 5'10 and weigh 66kg it should not be doing this this early on. 5 years warranty what a joke!
It took Bensons 3 attempts to deliver a fault free bed. They had the nerve to eventually offer me an insulting £120 as a "goodwill gesture ". As I had paid over £1300 I found this offensive. I emailed their so called CEO Mark Jackson twice but he didn't even have the courtesy to reply. Please don't use this company. Save yourself the hassle.
My in-laws purchased a mattress for me and my partner as a gift back in 2020.
The mattress unfortunately had a broken spring so we had to exchange it.
We had to pay more for the new mattress as they had nothing the same price.
We then received a mattress that had a manufacturing fault (mattress sizing was wrong) but we did find this mattress comfortable so decided to exchange for the same mattress.
Due to the sizing being wrong we based the comfort on that as the new mattress arrived and it was nothing like like the mattress with the manufacturing fault.
We have woken up with SEVERE backache everyday - unable to go to the gym or carry out certain tasks.
I currently have been diagnosed with hyper lordosis due to this!
We called through to customers services to hopefully get a refund.
We have spoken to Elliot a few times now and he is extremely rude, arrogant and really should not be working in a customer service role.
Refused refund as "not fault with mattress" despite this being our first actual mattress we got to try out as the others came with faults.
Now we are stuck with a £300 mattress we cannot sell on and have to buy another elsewhere!
AVOID! There is a reason they went into administration
