I had a very bad experience with Bank Of America regarding the interest on my account. I called several times and requested if the interest could be waived out as a one time courtesy since my balance was $0.The manager, Katrina from Texas was extremely unhelpful and rude. I have been a loyal Bank Of America customer since 2008. I will no longer be doing any business with them!

Stay far away from them, they're absolute hawks.

They'll leave you hanging and take their sweet time with processing deposits but repeatedly fine you if you miss a payment by 3 hours. I took out a personal loan for $400 and paid it off before closing my checking account.

Turns out that these crooks kept an open balance that affected my credit score despite the fact that I paid it off and closed my account OVER A YEAR AGO.

Do yourself a favor and sign up at a small, local bank who will treat you as more than just a number in their system. That's what I ended up doing and these folks actually work to help me when a company (Comcast) ends up scamming me whereas BofA just shrugs their shoulders and sides with scammers.

Zero customer service
February 15, 2023

The worst service i got from you on Valentine's Day. Yesterday and today. People on the line are not patient enough, they are not assisting, they're putting pressure on everybody. Most of them. People from all over the world do their jobs here better than the local ones. Come on guys! Shame on your customer service. DISAPPOINTED!

It has been made clear to me in the past 3 years that BOA has no interest in their customers beyond having our money in their hands to invest. You are penalized for everything that doesn't serve THEIR agenda, not yours. They were the worst when it came to support during Covid, did not honor terms they promised. They just decided WITHOUT EVEN CONSULTING ME to turn my savings account into a checking account with all the requisite because I sometimes have to dip into it savings to pay a bill or put food onb my table. So SORRY poor Bank of America that I deprived you of a few dollars to invest for YOUR OWN PROFIT. I work 7 days a week to survive NOT to fill BOA CEOs pockets. After 3 years of being disappointed and unhappy with BOA,this was the last straw. I am now researching alternatives. I will be quite vocal and viral about my dislike for this organiztion.

Lengthy Check Holds
February 14, 2023

Do not bank with BofA. Their check hold policies and practices are unreasonably long. They do not honor the hold stated on your receipt. Your deposit can be flagged by their system as high risk and then additional holds are placed. They do not tell you that though until after the fact. Even if you call and complain, they will just tell you there is nothing they can do. Checks clear in 3 to 5 business days, so a hold of 10 days is extensive. Most other banks will release at least $100 to $200 right away, and then the remainder in the next few days. Not Bank of America though. Stay away if you want your money in a timely manner! If this has happened to you, I would encourage you to join me in filing complaints with the Office of the Comptroller for the Currency, the BBB, the Attorney General's Office/Consumer Complaints, and to BofA's Feedback email address, which can be found by googling complaints to BofA.

Bank of America literally is the worst bank that I have ever dealt with mainly because of their customer service. Extremely disgusting. I would never do business with them ever again and I will make sure that I tell everybody that I meet all of the things I went there with them, so that they will never do business with him. If I could give a - zero instead of a one I would.

I am writing this review to help others know how many doesn't matter how many times you're sued find you repeatedly steal from consumers and you help identity thieves to do the same thing I turned it into the Federal reserve because they oversee your stinking thieving Bank now what I want from you is every warrior transfer you made that were fraudulent through my checking account and I have the statements that I have forwarded to the Federal reserve also that fat Identity thief that you helped wire transfer I want the name of the wire company I have the statements with the wire transfers you have me buried in the hole not only that but the three count accounts that she fraudulently opened in my name to get to a life policy that Fidelity had you close those accounts took the money and you purged it when you distinctly told me you were going to refund it like the $300,000 for the property loss on my home that foremost insurance company put your name on by mistake you'll be hearing from the Federal reserve very soon and the interest I am charging you it's going to be unbelievable because I'm entitled to damages ginormous damages against your bank and Linda m Webster the identity thief

Inept and impaired
January 31, 2023

This sad remnant of a legacy bank is great for testing your patience. I long ago closed my checking account when they baited and switched on fees.
I thought they were OK for credit cards, but they have a bad habit of suspending the account for no good reason and making you validate yourself time and again. Maybe it's a desperate ploy to get more people to walk into their unattractive branches.

Worst of the worst
January 24, 2023

Most mismanaged financial institutions out there. Horrible customer service. Under staffed banks. Horrible communication. Whoever is in charge of this company would be better served as a street sweeper. Wish you could give less than 1 star. More like a negative star. Do everyone a favor and go out of business.

Called bank all of them are very unprofessional or they don't answer the phone and even if they answer the phone after 2 hour of holding, they are not correcting problems.

My last 2 years experiences have been horrible with the bank. I have been with this bank over 20 years. Audit my account see the kind of charges that have been taken out. I am at the point where I will give another bank an opportunity.

Run
January 17, 2023

We began having an issue back in July because it seemed, all of a sudden, BOA forgot how to bank. We have been sending in additional principal, for years now and all of a sudden, it wasn't being applied to principal so the interest was being calculated incorrectly. After multiple attempts over multiple months, our books are still off by $2.90. Then randomly, due to a "processing error" they applied our extra payment to deferred interest. This made things way more screwed up, and in waiting for the answer to what was wrong and the corrected invoice, our payment went into the grace period, therefore causing the next invoice to be more incorrect than usual. Also, since the additional principal was not applied, the following month's interest was incorrect. So rather than risking the payment miss application to the next month's invoice again, I mailed our regular payment with the incorrect invoice. I asked for a corrected statement to be emailed, so HOPEFULLY, this issue would be corrected before January. That was much to optimistic of me. Now, the principal and interest are incorrect again. It really seems no one over there understands the issue, how to correct it, or the frustration on our end, nor do they care. We are a small business, and they are supposed to be the experts. From what I am being told, it doesn't seem that they understand basic math, much less something as complex as a loan.
Every month, I am spending hours dealing with this loan and that is unacceptable. I have been told the only people (in some "back office") who can ostensibly take care of this issue, "don't speak to clients". This is not only condescending, but a ridiculous rule, considering the same mistake continues to be made over and over.
If you can avoid using Bank of America, do it!

Frozen account
January 11, 2023

I've been receiving state disability for about a year now I've had two major back surgeries. I've worked over 20 years, so yes I have money there. My account through EDD Bank of America state disability was frozen Friday morning I called in to EDD Bank of America they gave me a number and told me to speak to the sponsor the sponsor is state disability, instead of calling I went down to the building to inform them that I have been locked out of my account and that I have money there. They said they saw no error on their end. I was also told that when I call EDD state disability, it was information that needed to be provided to see if I was eligible /eligibility. AnyWho when I went to the sponsor state disability, they saw no issue. I also inform state disability that my account has been frozen and more money was released into my account Friday no money Saturday Sunday no money Monday I went back to state disability and sat outside in the rain for five hours Before I was seen today's Tuesday and still no money. I was told by state disability/sponsor. They are going to mail my checks to me, but what I am concerned about is why is my bank account with Bank of America frozen. When I call EDD Bank of America to ask them to explain what the issue is no one knows. The system only tells them one thing. The bad thing about this whole thing is the bank account is frozen with my money there and I cannot pay my bills and no one can explain to me what happened. Due to this issue, I have overdraft fees I have late fees and no one can explain to me what happened no one has called me. No one is communicating with me if anyone can see this message do I need an attorney to help me with this problem or can someone please call me because I am so lost with this issue. Bank of America has failed me and I feel the soul state disability has done me wrong and I've worked 20+ years in my field and no one is saying anything to me other than I have to wait till the issue was resolved.

I was scammed 27k by Walmart Automation alliance. I made a swift recall with Bofa, but I had the worst experience with this bank. After 126 days the status was still waiting for the receiving bank to respond. They were not even bother to make effort for the other bank to even respond. I requested several time for the analyst call back and the customer service supervisor told me I will get a call back but here after 6 month I still did not receive a single call.I would not recommend anyone to use this Bank. They are the largest Bank but when come to serve to client they the worst one.
