I've basically stopped using Takealot since they introduced the TakealotMORE subscription, and Amazon arrived at just the right time. For the most part, Amazon has completely outperformed them.

Prices are often lower on Amazon when you compare directly. There's no subscription (yet), unlike Takealot, where the real lower prices are often locked behind TakealotMORE. If you're not subscribed, you end up paying more for the exact same item, which is honestly a bit off.

Returns with Takealot are generally top of class, to be fair, although I have had bad experiences where items (like a screen protector) arrived cracked and they refused to refund me. I haven't had anything like that with Amazon.

Amazon's delivery is also much better. If you order early enough, you can often get same-day delivery, and sometimes they even deliver the same day without charging extra for expedited delivery. That's a big win.

On top of that, Amazon has better deals overall and a smoother, faster checkout process.

So ja, I'm firmly on the Amazon side now. I'd recommend it, even though the free delivery is probably temporary while they build market share, and they'll likely introduce something like Prime later. But right now, it's a much better experience, and I'll keep supporting Amazon over Takealot for as long as it stays this way.
