I wanted some books for Easter for my 7-yr-old granddaughter. We had some FRANCES books by Russell Hoban that I've had for 40 years, but I thought maybe we didn't have all of them. So I ordered the 2 titles we didn't have and also bought The Sea-Thing Child by Hoban. I was able to order all 3 from Thrift Books, Reno so they came quickly to Dayton, OH. Great purchase.

Got what I wanted, used in conjunction with other searching to isolate older books

My order was easy to make, and I was given cheaper options for the books and the shipping. I have used Alibris in the past and highly recommend it for used books.

I prefer Alibris to Amazon because it appears that Alibris does not engage in book censorship and I know that Amazon does. I order books on many subjects. My ordering a book does not mean that I'm in agreement with it and am buying for belief confirmation. I often order books precisely because I to NOT believe in the views they express but because I'm curious to see what other people with viewpoints different from mine have to say. I learn things and sometimes I even change my mind. Amazon, like so many others in modern America, fancies itself to be our moral nannies and will not offer "Nazi" or "racist" or "far right" books, for instance. I'm sure Amazon censors other unpopular books too. To hell with Amazon. I prefer freedom and the right to read books that are often unpopular. That's why I'd rather my money go to Alibris than to Amazon.

Why do you send out a note with just the order number? I had to log into alibis to figure out which book you were talking about, next time I won't bother.

I loaded 3 books into my cart, and then I signed into my account during checkout. Then, the site emptied my cart, and when I went to find the 3 books again, one had already been sold to another person.

I was surprised at how easily I was able to edit address and payment method. And I was able to find a new copy of a book I had no luck with on Amazon! Thank you!
