In a panic after falling down 14 stairs in my home and breaking my collarbone & my wrist, I ordered an Acorn stairlift believing that they were the best. What a mistake. It was barely installed at a cost of over $13,000 when I was getting notices to purchase an extended warranty for $1400+ for three years. I've had the stairlift now for less than 4 years and I need to have it replaced. I was not told at the time of purchase that there were no technicians where I live and that it would be at least a month before one would come at a cost of $300 plus parts. If I was mobile enough to get upstairs to my bedroom by myself, I wouldn't have needed a stairlift. This company just doesn't seem to care about anything but getting the money for the stairlift itself. In the first place The had the bloody cheek to tell me that it would cost $750 to remove their very unsatisfactory stairlift. There is a Facebook page of angry Acorn stairlift customers..
