Although I've never dealt with Acer before, I did for the first time on Tuesday 10-7-25. I won't leave a biography of what happened but my friends laptop was under a one-year warranty from Acer and Costco. Being told by Costcos warranty department to send her laptop to Acer, she'd put the laptop inside a box, bubble wrapped it and sent it a few days before my arrival. At the FedEx drop off location, that box was then put inside another box. The laptop screen had gotten colored horizontal lines across it and that's why she'd sent it in.
It arrived at Acer via FedEx with a broken screen. That was nothing to do with my friend. She'd completed her side of the arrangement. I spent two and a half hours on the phone, partly with Costco's warranty service with a gentleman by the name of Minall (sp).
Acers rep Chris said that Acer would call back the next day. Nobody at Acer has never called back to this day!
The sad thing about this whole story is I've never heard of anybody having an issue with a return at Costco ever, and this ended up being a nightmare.
I'll never deal with Acer again and I think their customer service stinks.

I attempted to boot acer swift 14 laptop from a USB drive which is a perfectly standard operation, and yet it refused to recognize the drive. I called their "support" and was told that ONLY DRIVES PURCHASED FROM THEM CAN BE USED. They even offered to send their drive with windows, and that's exactly what I do NOT want.
You think you bought a computer? No. You merely leased it from an erratic control freak.
Usually buy Dell desktops, don't usually have any issues. Decided to buy Acer desktop and try it out - worst waste of my money. Acer desktop is a pos - constant issues with installation of windows, can't copy paste, constant freezing, browsers not working (chrome, firefox and IE). Seriously the biggest piece of crap.
Cheap. Tinny and difficult to navigate. Too many ads butting in. For the serious PC user avoid at any cost. Period!
Acer Aspire 5 running OK after 3 years. The 1920x1080 HD screen... not too bad for the price. MicroSoft Windows 10 OS license included. Power supply is stupid.
Imagine having such a $#*! cooler that it scoots the overall CPU temp to 90 degrees + at idle doing as much as you are to fix these $#*!ty coolers. Imagine charging so much for an AIDS cooler for a pre built and making half of the case impossible to access. Cool lights I guess but $#*! the rest of it. The only thing that is actually easy to mod are the graphics card, ram, storage and the fan. The rest is impossible because of such a $#*!ty motherboard. I could probably make a better design for a motherboard using MY $#*! as a brown crayon and some lovely WHITE paper.
Its so annoying. I want a laptop and color isnt like advertised at all and then I have to pay 70$ shipping back. No refund were placed. Tried to call them multiple times and still, they kept switching me from department to department. Such a $#*! show, dont buy from them buy from best buy or other supplier:^(
Unit purchased new in July of 2021--Lasted 2 years--no power to CPU-can not turn on--replaced power supply w ACER part $70 item-talked to support-can not diagnose--may be bad motherboard--Called ACER-Was told $419 if sent back for repair! What a POS. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER ACER PRODUCT--I bought a new HP So Screw You ACER!
This has been worst investment I made this labtop does not perform up to my standards this is bad for me I can barely get anything done terrible what a waste of money dissatisfied
Bought a desktop computer from Acer (Acer Aspire) about 9 months ago. Worked ok, but last month it would not power on. Contacted Acer and since it's under warranty was told to return it so we did. I called to follow up and was told they are NOT going to repair it because they found a roach. They sent a picture of the inside of another computer with a roach on its back. 1. I haven't seen a roach like that not even in the neighborhood so no infestation issues from my end. 2. The roach looked like it recently died and was adult size so how would that crawl into a computer? 3. The picture of the inside of the computer they sent was not ours, it looked very old. We know this because we have 2 Acer same model. So we sent them by a picture of the one at home which is about 2 years old and there's no comparison. The repairs department is lying. I believe they just didn't want to fix it. I would not recommend buying from Acer, find a more reputable company.
We are a computer store, in business for nearly 30 years, and have bought and sold Acer products for many of them. Recently, we purchased a lot of Acer Vero laptops through a major retail venue for resale to our customers. This may seem trivial to some but, the fact that the R and the E keycaps would be printed backwards, in an awkward yellow color was definitely NOT emphasized in the presentation. This, according to Acer's explanation, is to highlight the importance of Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling. Thus the "R" and "E" silliness. No doubt, some Marketing weenie thought of this and sold the supposedly smarter and more experienced executives on it as a good idea. Brilliant, I tell you! We'll appeal to the environmentally conscious and to the general woke crowd, all while forcing the Stone Age Boomers, Gen X'ers, and Millennials into the the "future". This is all just part of a cynical Marketing plan that takes advantage of the current pop-culture of electric cars (without adequate electrical supply nor infrastructure to support them), recycle everything rhetoric (when, in fact, the ones who actually DO recycle ARE largely those same Stone Age holdovers), and eternal work-from-home addicts (regardless whether it makes sense or not). Never mind that the end-users would not have wanted this disfigurement on a device that they paid for! What kind of lame-brained, over-the-top, 'go-green' marketeer (and the executives who bought into it) did this? They have managed to take a generally pretty good laptop and with one stroke of someone's pen, turn it into an unpalatable joke. If you can live with it, by all means, keep your eyes open and look for them in the clearance section at bargain basement prices. Brilliant plan... ruin your own product! There have already been complaints. And then, they decided that 'built-in' Alexa was a great idea, too! That just gives our more paranoid customers an added excuse to return them, based on their belief that they are being monitored. We are in the process of trying to return the remainder of our stock.
I purchased a monitor made by Acer and after a couple of months it stopped working. I had to mail it in for repairs, but it was returned back to me in the same broken state. They said that the power cord must have issues, but I used two other power cords and no it didn't fix the problem of turning on. I contacted the customer service and they stated that I would have to mail it back on my own and that they would look at it again. They did pay for the postage the first time. I didn't send it back as the warranty didn't state that they would only pay for postage one time so they could attempt to fix the item.
Aww awesome excited thank you pretty cooll injoyed it very much appreciated it much appreciated cool
I received an Acer Spin 3 laptop sometime in mid-April of 2022. I was informed that it was among the better quality units compared to hp or other laptops. It had Windows 10 built-in and to be upgraded to Windows-11. The upgrading process had a lot of issues and custom and customer service could not help at all. After several days of trial and error, windows 11 got installed. This computer comes with a one drive system that puts all files including private confidential files into the one drive system exposing them to viruses. The tech support was again of no help in removing confidential files off of one drive.
A few days later the mike system failed to work on zoom, so I had to conduct zoom on my cell phone. By default the mike is on mute mode so each time I have to reactivate the mike again. The mike is muted if you want to listen to a website, you have to unmute each time you wanted to listen to a web site. The keyboard light is kept off when you run the computer. It took the tech person 1/2 hr to explain I have to press F8 and it will be on only for 2 minutes.
My speaker stopped working I don't know since when as I have been using an earphone sincre the day I received it, to not distract the neighbors. Today, 6 months later, they tell me the computer is out of warranty, though the website says there is 1 year warranty.
I am totally disgusted with this laptop as it is totally unreliable. The screen keeps zooming in and out each time I touch the keyboard.
Please DO NOT buy any Acer computer. It is worse than the worst laptops!
After reading many reviews, I decided on an Acer laptop. Big mistake. One of the hinges broke almost immediately. I now have duct tape holding my laptop together. Nice. Then, just after my warranty ran out, my curser started having a mind of its own. I am a touch typist-I do not always look at the screen when i type. I would look up and my cursor would be in a totally different place-looked like I was typing in a foreign language. If I took my fingers of the keys, it would magically go off to some other point in my typing. If I do not watch, it will even go to the text of an email I was answering. No rhyme or reason. Called Customer Service which is a joke. I could not understand anything anyone was saying. Finally got to the 'tech' and he was the most difficult to understand. His advice was to just not use the cursor! For that advice, I was charged $159.00. That actually was an improvement as they first wanted $189.00 for tech advice. I protested both prices and eventually had to go to my credit card company to dispute the charge. I was able to get my money back, but I am still fighting the cursed cursor.
When they sold the product at Store, they were available around and showed all products. After 3 months laptop having charging issue. They asked to courier because they don't accept drop off in-person at Acer center due to Covid. If you still fear of Covid why do you sell products? Stay home. All around world restrictions are up now. Courier charges are around 10% of the total product value. If you are still having Covid restrictions why you don't provide label to customers. While selling no Covid but In support and services you have fear of Covid. Non-sense and stupid logic.
It is the worst laptop as well as company. They take months long to fix issue of the product under warranty.
Despite liking my Predator Helios 300 laptop I purchased from Acer, this review is mainly aimed at their repairs department and general behaviour in assisting me with my laptop. My laptop recently stopped working and was out of warranty, I sent it back to Acer to look at for a fee and they provided me with a quote to repair it. The quote was for nearly £2000 to replace the motherboard. I couldn't afford this and the laptop was returned to me so I took it to a local technician who cleaned the laptop and it started working again. The cleaning cost me £120. I have since asked for a refund from Acer for the obvious misdiagnosis and attempt to make me pay an extortionate amount of money for a repair job that wasn't needed, however I have been met with a customer service department that does not care and does not want to know. The products are fine, but as a company I would recommend avoiding them.
I have an Acer laptop. I have an Acer Nitro 5 and it's a good laptop. Acer has some of the best laptops.
We bought our Acer laptop 2 years ago and have already replaced 4 charger adaptors because the part that plugs into the laptop is too thin and keeps breaking. Wish we had never bought one.
