Even though I absolutely adored the program for my son as a preschooler, I had trouble with it loading properly. Instead, it would keep repeating the activity, so I notified the customer service personnel, did what they asked, and when I requested a refund, even after I did what they asked, they continued to send me the same response, as if I had not responded at all. In addition to this, like the other party stated, I purchased the annual subscription, and it renewed automatically without my authorization, even though it was a 12 month subscription. I also tried contacting the company directly, and they are conveniently not available after 5 p.m. As a former teacher myself, this did not bode well with me. I am sorry to say that I am very disappointed with this company.
If you purchase an annual subscription it will be set to automatically renew. ABCMouse.com does not send you a notification ahead of time to let you know that your subscription is about to be renewed. I have a lot on my mind and a lot of things happen over the course of a year, so having the date I began my subscription at the top of my list is a ridiculous notion. Also, ABCMouse.com refuses to give any sort of refund even if you cancel the very next day after your subscription is renewed. So, now I am paying for a full year of something my daughter no longer uses. This company could at least have the common courtesy of notifying its customers BEFORE the subscription is renewed instead of letting the customer find out when it appears on their credit card bill.
ABC mouse is a good learning site for young children. DON'T try to take advantage of an offer, if you are already signed up. Obviously adding and subtracting is not a strong point of the accounting office. There is NO SERVICE regardless of how many e-mails you send. I cancelled my subscription after being ripped off for $60. They should be ashamed of themselves. You are only big for so long... ask Levis, Playtex, GM! What goes around com, es around.
I am a graduate of child Ed. I saw the an mouse.com ad on TV, my child loved watching their ad and I went to get a subscription for him. On getting to the site, found I could do a 1 month free trial, so opted for that. Note that whatever you do, they take your account info any ways. Unknowing to me, they charged my account 19.95 monthly without a notification or receipt. A few days into the program, I noticed he was still too young to grasp its essence so I called to freeze the account pending child readiness. The rep I spoke with said they do not do that but will refund me fully. I call back 4 weeks after to say I hadn't received the refund and was told Abcmouse.com does not refund, they just cancel you out of the system. So here is a "so great" program with fraudulent policies. In no part of the site is it written that payment is non-refundable yet they cancel you out of the system. Their curriculum might be great but policies may bring them down fast.
Answer: Don't do it. Find another learning app. The app it self is glitchy always kicking us out in the middle of stuff and it's not a free trial. They will charge you over and over and over! HUGE SCAM
Answer: File complaints against them with both your state's Attorney General's Office and the BBB.
Answer: When a corporation appears not to be acting in good faith, I look up the name and address of the corporation's registered agent on file with my state's Secretary of State/State Corporation Commission and send a USPS Certified Letter w/return receipt requested to the corporation in care of the Registered Agent with a detailed explanation of the problem and all that I have done thus far in my attempt to remedy the situation. A CC of the letter to the State's Attorney General may also be beneficial.
