Hello! I can confirm that the request for a verification code is legitimate. You simply need to call the merchant services department (not the regular customer service team) and request the 6 digit code that verifies the transaction. This is a safety measure to guarantee that the transaction is authorized by you. Note that only the cardholder would be able to get this information from the financial institution.
