My honest opinion of UoPeople
March 2, 2024

Enrolling at University of the People was a great choice for me. The flexible, self-paced format allows me to balance my studies with a hectic schedule. Accreditation by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission adds credibility to my degree pursuit. I value the collaborative learning environment and the affordability is unbeatable. However, I wish for more interactive faculty engagement. Despite this, I would recommend UoPeople to other potential students, especially those seeking an accredited and cost-effective education.

SCAM AND MONEY PIT!
December 22, 2023

They have stolen nearly $500 for me even before I begin. $300 to transfer credit where every other university it's free. Their application fee is double what a traditional University is. Don't go here if you were from a Western Country as you will see another reviews there are professional writers that have attended the school and were graded and correctly based on writing skills. I have written papers at Harvard and passed with perfect grades. This school has foreigners that are grading your academic excellence and are not educated enough to do so. I find the school deplorable. Academic advisors, instructors, and all staff members at this University do not respond to you. When they do respond, it is a generic template that they copy and paste to send to you but you will not receive answers. You can look on YouTube various reviews Etc that students that have excelled academically and professionally are failing classes at this university. They will consider your paper plagiarism if their generator gives you 1% plagiarism. You will have plagiarism if you quote text. They will Mark grades off if you APA reference do not Place according to and paraphrase in your essay that is also incorrect. The instructors do not understand critical thinking which is a basic pillar in academics. As a teacher that has taught in classroom over 60 students, I would never suggest this University. I thought it's a free University, I will gain my masters. This will never happen at this University. You will see other reviews of those that could not use their degree after they graduated please heed the negative ratings because there are no refunds at this University you will not have a graduation date you will not have access to the progress that you begin you will not talk to anybody they will continue to push your payment through and that is all. I withdrew from this school within my first classes because I saw that they were attempting to scam and inaccurately grade. I will tell everyone I know not to attend the school they will not give you a refund I'm sure of it I've read other reviews they have not offered a refund and I have been complaining for 4 weeks. Just deplorable, scam, thieves.

. I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts and review on the programs offered at People's University.

First and foremost, I must commend the university for its wide range of programs that are tailored to meet the demands of the current labor market. It is refreshing to see an educational institution that understands the importance of providing courses that are in high demand.

Moreover, I would like to express my appreciation for the scholarships offered by People's University. The fact that the university is committed to making education more accessible by providing financial assistance is truly commendable. It demonstrates the university's dedication to ensuring that deserving individuals have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals.

Additionally, I have personally found the specializations offered at People's University to be of great value. The specialized courses provide a deeper understanding and expertise in specific fields, which can significantly enhance one's career prospects. The nominal prices at which these specializations are offered make it even more attractive for individuals looking to upskill or switch careers.

Overall, my experience with People's University has been highly positive. The programs are relevant, the scholarships are beneficial, and the specializations are valuable. I would highly recommend People's University to anyone seeking a quality education that aligns with the demands of the labor market.

Thank you for your attention, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or require additional information.

Best regards,

I like University of the people's commitment to breaking down barriers to education. It offers tuition-free, accredited degrees online, making higher education accessible to individuals who might otherwise be unable to pursue it. The focus on flexibility, self-paced learning, and a global community creates a unique and inclusive educational environment. I'm in my final year of BSc Computer Science and it's been a great experience. Fraud
April 22, 2023

I got a free scholarship for UoP so I decided to give it a try.
The website with learning materials looks like a mess. New materials are hidden in guides so you may easily miss those files. Lots of useless tasks with little educational activities.
Written assignments can be assessed only when you asses your peers! What a nonsense, students have to check the assignments of other students! How do you learn anything then if you cannot get feedback from a real tutor?
You have to purchase their proctor service or you won't be allowed to sit exams! I believe they don't have any real tutors at all...
Finally, they asked me, the student with a $1000+ scholarship, to pay $10-20 for every exam as the scholarship obviously doesn't cover the full price:D

P.S. I didn't pay those scammers anything and decided to self-study for now

One of the saddest experiences of my life
January 31, 2023

THIS IS NOT AN ACCREDITATED SCHOOL.

I support free education. But this is nothing. It's google material posted together to seem like education. Education is based on the concept of "Guidance" through research material, so the student can learn. You are being shown cheap open library materials that are content subjects meant for Middle School, not even high school level reading.

They lie about accreditation. DEAC IS NOT AN ACCREDITING BODY. It's an organization that just says. "yes, this is an online school". They do not look at the curriculum or any other subjective content being taught in the classes.

Peer assessments is LITERALLY the blind leading the blind. Imagine being graded by a person with no education themselves, being from a nation that doesn't speak English, then expecting them to understand how to grade a person's paper or essay without knowing anything themselves. I have a Ph.D. I write at a higher level than undergrad. I've run complex international operations and have done research documents that are longer than their entire student-written discussion boards... Combined...

They claim their program is self-paced. It used to say, "Get your degree done in a matter of months or cut your attendance in half..." When you attend. You are locked in each week or material, you can't move ahead. It's 100% false advertisement. You will spend maybe 1 hour a week in each class to complete their work. Then spend the entire week doing nothing, waiting for access to the next week. THERE IS LITERALLY NO SUBSTANCE AT ALL to education... There is no challenge, there is no content that is current. It's all simplified nonsense posted together to seem like education, but it's hardly fit for Middle-aged youth. Not for Adults trying to learn skills for a career aspect.

Education is about challenging a person to think FAR beyond their current understanding of a topic. This "place" (which is not even a school) just gives a few basic details and leaves the student wanting more and needing more to use the information in a real world scenario.
