My dads a plumber and is on this, had many good leads from it ive also used it for general projects around the house, very good site :)
Great all around site, helpful to try and get some idea of who is good in area
Would recommend to others
Thanks for the review!
Great website, i got my builder from here and they done a great job. I would recommend to anyone. Thank you TrustATrader
Thankyou Marge!
I had my workmen from trust a trader thinking i would be protected in some sort of way being that there on a well known web-sight as TrustATradoer but definitely not the company i used quoted me 6 weeks to carry out quite a bit of work on my family home im now 7 months in and my house is still not complete being that my sons bedroom is still a building site work all of a sudden just stopped and after excuse after excuse i decided to go to the place i got my workmen from POINTLESS nothing they can do wont post my review they told me they would act as an mediator but that had no affect ether massively out of pocket
Too much competition, wanted to list my business but they wanted too much money and they promote those that pay more. I placed my ad on www.addocker.com global business directory and my ad didn't cost me a penny, it was free.
They don't post negative reviews so you don't have a full picture of the person you are potentially hiring to do your job. This is completely irresponsible. We ended up being stung by a rogue trader who took our money and didn't carry out the work and Trust a Trader were unhelpful and my negative review won't be posted and the guy will go on to do the same to another poor person. It's disgusting that Trust a Trader are not just letting this happen, by actively deceiving us by removing negative reviews and even helping these crooks. Disgusting - how can you sleep at night?!
They allow traders to offer discounts on future work for (and Ill be specific) reviews (which can only mean good reviews as a bad one wouldnt get a discount!). It makes the whole concept meaningless.
To all traders
I have advertised on trust a trader now for 3 years and never had a bad review regarding my works I recently had 1 bad review published from some one iv never worked for and not being able to prove iv never worked for them it was put up and another review published with false claims and after sending all correspondent to trust a trader I had with the customer inc photos supplied by my customer which evidently proved she had undone my work due to diy it was posted
I will be removing everything I have associated to trust a trader.
It seems to me as a trader you don't even have to work for some one and they will post a review
I'm a trader a started to set up an account and before I signed the contract and set up and went live they took my money. Customer service are very rude and I would reccomend all trades man to use Checkatrade. Much better service
Apparently there is another side of them one cannot see and this is about builders been able to talk down customers, a builder told me.
Never ever managed to get somebody professional from any of those sites, those builders are extremely aggressive even swearing by text, missing appointments or/and charging the earth saying if they are on the site then it is because they are good. If they are so good, would they be on those sites, I very much doubt. I am a woman off 69 years on my own so I have to be careful who I let into my property and frankly I have found most of them so bad manners I would not be able to trust them.
I have contacted Trust A Trader several times about a company listed on their site, who has after 6 months failed to finish a job that was quoted to take 6 weeks, they have missed loads of appointments and everything they have done so far has been substandard and not to building regs. They have cause damage to my property and tried to cover up bad workmanship. Having posted a review about them on Trust a Trader backed up by emails and photos. Trust A Trader will not post the review and no one there will answer my calls or emails to discuss it.
Obvious to me this site only exists as an advertising platform for traders and is only willing to post positive reviews to encourage companies to stay with them. How can you trust a site that will not post a genuine and accurate review just because its bad?
Trustatrader led me to believe my bad review would be published and they would assist me liaise with Mr Rogue Trader. They took for ever to reply to y emails calls. Eventually Mr Rogue Trader was removed from the site. They claim they had liaised with Mr Rogue Trader's PA, but he doesn't have a PA. They also said they would help with the small claims court. I don't believe they actually liaised with Mr Rogue Trader as I don't think he communicated with Trustatrader at all. Rather then help me out it was easier to just remove him Mr Rogue Trader had 40 reviews so I am left with a shoddy kitchen and I am out of pocket having to get remedial work done. He also damaged my property.
A local cowboy builder who was recently in the paper for being as such had excellent reviews on trustatrader. I unfortunately thought trustatrader was a reputable review site. So I chose this cowboy builder. Based on trustatraders good reviews.
This cowboy fleeced me and in the end had to go to court.
Trustatrader wouldnt post my negative review. Even though I provided evidence of the court proceedings which they asked for. They simply stopped responding to emails.
They are more criminal that the cowboys.
I am in this mess as a direct result of their negative review filters.
I contacted TrustATrader to ask about a builder who had 5 reviews posted (all with 5 stars) within less than a month. They were totally uncooperative and stalling with every email. Half the time they could not be bothered to read correctly. I had submitted reviews previously about the builder, but as predicted none of them were published/posted.
Use with caution!
Found a damp proof company (with 20 excellent reviews) on trustatrader.
Came round stuck a moisture monitor in my walls and said I had rising dam on two walls. Didn't even test if rising damp or penetrating damp and I have a clearly visible damp proof course.
Told me he could do the work the following weekend or if we wanted it done next week it would be more.
Honestly, how can this possibly be a trusted trader?
LN Rooflines carried out some much needed guttering on my property February 2016, Excellent work and customer service, very impressed as I was regularly advised of the work being carried out on my property. Without any hesitation I would definitely recommend LN Rooflines to all my family and friends.
Excellent work Lawrence thank you
This company promises business, when a trader joins there site. I got 1 job in 4 months. Ask for my money back which was £850, they refused. I have had to take them to a small claims court to get my money back out of them. Been on checktrader for two weeks. I've had 4 jobs. Paid £900. Trustatrade is not to be trusted...
From the outset the person from Profascia was helpful in giving a quote
On the job at hand. He was very professional in his explanation at what the
Job would entail. The work was carried out to render new down pipes and
Guttering. For the whole house. They were very professional in carrying out the
Work and left my place in a clean and tidy way. Would certainly recommend.
My wife and I found a tradesman through trustatrader to renovate a utility room and bathroom. I wont go into it too much as I have had almost a year of pain trying to get any sort of contact from the cowboys who run trustatrader. To cut a long story short, the builder we used wasn't a builder full time (found this out afterwards) and he burst pipes which he said he had sorted when infact when we employed an actual professional we had boiling water underneath our tiles which had spread meaning we needed to pay twice to get someone else in to rip it all out again as all of his jobs he did were an absolute disgrace. We eventually found out that the builder was infact bankrupt when he started the job (CGM Building services - Chris Moore) so why on earth did trust a trader have him on their books (oh I know why, because its another revenue stream for them). STAY AWAY FROM THEM, DO NOT USE THEM OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY AND RUIN YOUR HOUSE!
After having a lot of trouble from another trader directory website, I came across Trust a Trader. They were extremely helpful in finding a trader for me.
I had shoddy work done on my conservatory, it was leaking and everything. Thankfully the trustatrader team helped me find a trader who done an exceptional job.
I highly recommend this website and I would most definitely use them again.
Thanks for the review Daniel
