The physical therapists are great, but not worth the headache of dealing with the billing department. I paid before each session only to realize they were excessively overcharging. They did this 3X within one year. I highly encourage everyone to look very closely at your bill. I've been trying to reach out to them to no avail.
I showed up for a scheduled pre‑surgery physical therapy appointment, only to be told by the therapist that they couldn't help me until after my hip replacement. She literally looked at me confused and said, "I'll see you after your operation." That was the entire visit — and I was still billed an unreasonable amount for it, even though nothing was done.
I have excellent insurance, but that doesn't mean I'm okay with being charged for a pointless appointment that should never have been scheduled in the first place. I've tried calling their billing department multiple times, and all it's done is waste more of my time.
There are plenty of physical therapy clinics that respect your time and communicate clearly. This place did neither. My experience was a complete waste.
This place charges outrageous fees. Truly. More than my cardiologist! Go anywhere else. Seriously. Well- outside industry norms for bills. And they hound you, yet are also unresponsive. Nightmare!
Upon on leaving she told me I don't have to come back! She was rude and upset for what ever reason I don't know
My wife this week went to Select Physical this week on the recommendation of her Doctor. Spent less then the alloted time due to filling out paperwork. She was given a physical therapist by the name of Michael Garland. Michael gave her maybe 4 different excercises, which was fine. During the time spent, Michael told her to only use her walker for her weakness with her legs and attend therapy for at least 6 months, twice a week for the next 6 months, at nifty $50.00 a visit. The part that was unsettling for her is when Mr. Gartand, the PT., asked personal questions on her past and current life. As a result of his persistence on asking these personal questions she broke out crying. Says pretty much of her desire to stay clear of this place in the near future. The strangest part was Mr. Gartland telling her to only use the walker going forward
And not walking under her own to rehabilitate her weakness in her legs.
I accidentally sent them the wrong check. I let them know right away but they illegally cashed it anyhow. Now they are pretending they sent it back but my bank says this is not true. I would not deal with them again. I am out $2250
I used the North Miami site for therapy over the past few years. Great experience with Michelle. Not so great with Shekevia. This time, a young man took my new insurance info and was to call me confirming coverage and co-pays. A young lady called me back and said "you have to call your insurance company to check for coverage" I don't know billing codes etc. so I said "isn't that your job?". She said "that would make more work for us". Unbelievable. She called me rude, said her supervisor would call, and hung up on me. Never use this location for your therapy. Using CORA.
Same issue as other reviews.
The head offices will make bogus fees, the local office will assure you there are no balances to be paid and then they send you to collections.
Very shady corporate structure and very questionable billing practices.
I regret going there for my PT.
I "selected" the "Select Physical Therapy" because one of their facilities is nearby. And the hope of having some connivance led me to a long-last billing nightmare. Their lack of responsiveness and cooperation to me and my insurance company (Anthem) is both disheartening and extremely disappointing.
Stay away from this possibly fraudulent practice; there is no need for us to receive under-average care and put ourselves through "top-notch" frustration and disappointment.
These people do more talking than helping they tell you to do an exercise then leave for 15 minutes it's just a waste of time, then will send you a bill for 16.00 when the county approved the sessions but I stopped going because it was a waste of time gas and money
I thought physical therapy was legit. This was my mistake. This is a full-on scam. The therapists give you some exercises to do (i.e move a wash cloth back and forth against a wall) and come back and check on you occasionally. Which is all well and good but absolutely
NOT worth the several hundreds of dollars they charge you/your insurance company PER VISIT. It's like a $50 service and they were charging several hundred. Big LOLz. I was shocked to receive such a high bill for such minimal therapy that I requested an itemized bill and discovered that they charge $44 each time they offer you an ice pack! LOL! I refuse to pay such an unscrupulous and immoral charge. It was truly just a regular ice pack from a freezer. $44! Annnyway, any medical debt under $500 can't be reported to credit bureaus so keep that in mind when assessing their insane bills. I don't know if ALL physical therapy is a sham and a scam, but I do know that this joint is. Avoid at all costs.
John, Renee and Jennifer in the Jacksonville, NC office are the best. Their caring, empathetic attitude made the process of therapy so much easier. Thank you for your staff. They are the best.
I just got a bill for services rendered over a year ago. It was the first time I'd seen this bill, which makes it hard to reconcile those with my experience. I'm not sure they're right and frankly don't know how to check. I hadn't heard from them during that period, then suddenly - bang - a bill. Bad business. I won't use them again because I never know when I'll get billed!
There is literally no personal attention and therapist attends to you infrequently while they're on the computer or some other task. They spent under a minute showing me an exercise which may or may not have been beneficial. They hardly knew my condition. They disappeared and never knew if I was doing it correctly or not. Went twice and left for good. I certainly could have used a caring qualified therapist since I had a broken femur bone but gained nothing form being at Select.
Only a couple of exercise to do on your own, no other treatment options. Refused to treat me cause a little late.
After years of trying to find the answer for my shoulder pain, my general practitioner told me to see Shane Jansa with Horizon Physical Therapy (which is now Select Physical Therapy). Shane put together a plan for me. Within less than 3 months I knew I was on the road to recovery. As a matter of fact I noticed change within 2 weeks. I haven't needed to see any doctor or physical therapist for my shoulder pain for three years now. When I go to bed at night and think back on all the nights I couldn't sleep because of my shoulder pain, I remind myself I need to send a review. If you are looking for the best and most highly credible physical therapist in the business, you don't need to look any farther than Shane Jansa with Select Physical Therapy!
After 2 strokes I found my self with a wheelchair or walker. Martha put together a plan of action that has given me back my mobility an I am so thankful for her and her team for all they have done for me. Just yesterday I walked a mile with a cane in 21 minutes on smooth level surface and I thank God for putting those people in my life. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Do not go to this location. Dr. Sarah will not include everything in her notes and I am positive if given the chance will lie just like Dr Dettling did in his workers comp notes. 90% of her patients come from him and they work in cahoots with each other to try and screw people. There are so many other good physical therapists out there. Do not get it wrong, Dr. Sarah works for the insurance company not for you. She in no way cares about your health. She is a numbers person just like Dr. Dettling.
The therapists on walnut bottom Carlisle PA are wonderful they don't treat you like a patient but treat you like family. I would highly recommend anyone that needs therapy go to this place you won't regret it thank you Brian and Tiffany you 2 are a god send
I had over a dozen sessions at my local Select Physical Therapy location. This is a large corporation of physical therapy clinics. Their corporate HQ are in Pennsylvania; their billing offices are in Alabama. Services are provided at locations throughout the US. There is ample room for mistakes in billing.
I received a bill for $15 in the mail. This was odd because the clinic I was using always and without fail collected the copay before the onset of each session in person. There was no way for this bill to be generated legitimately. I reported this to the local clinic's office; they said they would fix this. The bill kept coming in the mail. I got a final notice and call the billing offices in Alabama. I explained how this was a mistake, that I was not liable to pay. The profusely apologized and said they were "escalating" my concern and I would hear back. Nothing happened. I now have a collections' notice for $15.
I had a huge amount of sessions this year. All were paid immediately. They made great business on me yet are hounding me for $15 I do not owe.
This sort of "mistaken" billing occurs often in health care - possibly by design. It must generate a huge profit margin based on hot air.
I received no assistance in resolving this from Select Physical Therapy.
I highly recommend steering clear of this company.
