Superior Quality for the Money
The Skylight Shade was even better than I thought it would be. The quality for the price is great! I was a little nervous about the The installation, but my husband was able to install in 30 minutes or so. We're very happy with the product. We saved approx $800 by ordering through Select Blinds.
Great blinds!
Installation not terrible. Like how the side pieces cover the edges. Got the remote paired after I finally found the P1 button. Nice overall product for custom skylight blinds.
Great blinds, directions for install could be better
The blinds I installed are fantastic and do their job perfectly. My only issue was installation, I was either missing clips for one side of the blinds or the directions do not properly explain how to secure the other side. Regardless the blinds are great
Good shades - bad installation instructions
The shades are good. The installation was more challenging than necessary. The bottom piece that hides the springs is flimsy and will probably break or fail.
Both the printed installation guide and the online video insisted that there were rubber bands on the shades. There were no rubber bands. Installing the shades without rubber bands is impossible.
When I called I was told to send a picture or video and I'd be contacted in two days.
I tried to chat and waited 40 minutes.
Eventually, I found some rubber bands and was then able to follow the instructions.
In an age of YouTube having more specific instructions would be useful.
And don't forget the rubber bands.
Beautiful and functional
Installation went smoothly once we had all of the parts. The motorized blinds require a remote for operation and installation, and that was not included in our initial shipment. Frustrating. Would have given a better review otherwise. Had to contact customer service to place a parts order and wait quite a while for the remote to arrive before starting the install. Also, the instructions and videos show a different type of battery pack than what was provided, which was a bit confusing. Instructions need to be updated to reflect current parts provided. But after figuring out the install, the blinds look great, they fit great, and materials are lovely. So far, the motor and remote are operating flawlessly. Removing the battery may be tricky due to skylight height, so we're really hoping it doesn't need frequent charging. In the end we saved a lot of money doing our own install, but the headaches along the way had me reconsidering hiring a pro.

Basic changes to instruction manual would save a ton of frustration
Regarding pairing the remote with the motor, the instructions do not say to remove the end cap to have access to the P1 button. You must assume all customers are idiots - including myself. I cursed the engineers and the marketing people at Select Blinds who put together this piece of equipment, as I could not see the P1 or figure out how to press it. Again, I'm an idiot, I didn't know I had to remove the end cap... BUT YOUR INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME THIS NEEDED TO BE DONE. As I consequence to the poor instructions and my stupidity, I pushed a drill bit into the LED port on the battery back, thinking... maybe this is a button. I'm sure I broke the LED, adding to my frustration. Plus, you should have a URL link to the instruction video. The link to the instruction video on your website for my type of blind is BROKEN. This are issues that could so easily be fixed. Ideally the instruction manual is updated, but absent that change, you could just print out a sticker or something, and add it to the 'old' instruction manual.
Fairly easy install and they work great
Ordered the blinds, they arrived a couple of weeks after the order. The instructions that came with them could be a little clearer, I had to read thru them a couple of times, but the install was fairly straight forward, and now they are installed and work great.
Good - Instructions Need Work
The quality and look of the product is good. Installation wasn't too bad, but the instructions could use some work. Seems like it was just one generic pamphlet for multiple styles of blinds (ie: do this if it's this style, but do this if it's this style). It would be nice if they broke it up and put specific installation for just your product type. Otherwise, it looks great and does the job. I ordered blackout for a skylight over our bed and it makes the room feel totally different while allowing us to sleep longer on summer mornings!
Skylight blinds
This is my second purchase through Select Blinds, and I couldn't be happier! The skylight blinds are beautiful! They were easy to install and I couldn't be happier. We had Budget Blinds come to our home and their quote for our skylight blinds was $8,000. I was able to purchase them through Select Blinds for only $1,800. I'm so happy we chose to do business with Select Blinds!

Sky Light Blinds
Order 2 sky light blinds. The website made it easy to order and the product was easy to installed. Great experience and product.
If you purchase these I would not recommend a self-measure
If you purchase these I would not recommend a self-measure. I am pretty certain I followed their instructions to the letter (and measured at least 4 times). When I received my blinds, the rails fit on one skylight perfect but the others were off significantly (like by inches) and I was unable to get the rail into the skylight. I ended up having to swap the pair of rails for one and will need to hacksaw the other pair of the rails down to properly fit the skylight gap.
Overall I think the blinds, when installed, will work well. Just a little frustrated with the results from the self-measure.

I? M so angry and frustrated. I called SelectBlinds customer service for a instruction of getting the measurement of the window size, however they gave me wrong direction, and sent me the product with incorrect size. I contacted them multiple times after receiving the product with wrong size, they were able to track down the phone record revealing it was them who provided the wrong direction on the measurement. However, they refused to be responsible for their mistake. Instead, they asked to split the cost on the reproduction of the new one. Awful customer service.
Avoid at all cost
I? M so angry and frustrated. Money is tight and this was an investment for our family. The directions do not match the product I received and the video is of no help as it is also completely different from my product. $400 in the trash. If only the company to the time to send instructions that matched what you ordered, there could have been a possibility of this working. Awful product.
Terrible Install Instructions
Title pretty much covers it. Install instructions are awful, and the way the blinds are packed just doesn? T make sense, as they set you up to cut the cords of the shades while trying to remove all the plastic.
Skylight Shades
First, these look great once installed and do the job intended - blocking out the hot AZ sun from our main bedroom at our family cabin. I was disappointed in a few aspects of the product including: 1) the directions were not the easiest to follow and took a bit of ingenuity to figure out, 2) the screw holes in the side and bottom rails for all 3 sets were smaller than the provided screws, and as such, had to be drilled out wider and 3) the worst part was the way in which the blinds were packaged for shipping. Each set was bound together with clear plastic wrap that was nearly impossible to remove without using a knife or shears. Unfortunately, shears were not the best choice as the side chords were also wrapped in the ends with the packing wrap and I cut both chords in half on the first set. Needless to say, I not very happy with the situation. The blinds still work, but they don't track parallel side to side without the chords. Given all of the warnings and labels on everything, this would seem to be a very important piece of information to be aware of.
Also, as a tip to the installer, the recommended pilot hole size was too small in my opinion and the screw heads stripped out until I made a larger pilot hole. I would also recommend using a ratcheting manual screwdriver vs. a cordless power driver for the screws to prevent stripping the screw heads.
Overall, they look great, but was more of a process than anticipated!
