We like the Blinds but it's hard to recommend with the directions being completely wrong in two key steps. Both online and included print instruction were different than the actually product.
As a DIY homeowner I as able to install these blinds over our sliding door with little difficulty. However, the instruction booklet was so small that I had to use a magnifying glass! Even then it was hard to determine exactly what I was looking at and where 'it' was to be located. Once I got it figured out we both love the blinds. One other problem was that the end pieces for the outside rail were too long. I mounted the blinds on the outside and will have to somehow cut the two end pieces. I have not done that yet.
Rich looking and easy to operate the instructions could have been a little more clear over all very satisfied with the blinis
I had a large order and the customer service gentleman that I dealt with went above and beyond to make sure the order I wanted to place was correct when I placed it.
Step one mounting the brackets could use a better picture detailing the proper orientation. Found the answer at the very end of the instructions. Not a big deal, but frustrating.
This screen is what it is billed as. If you properly measure and install this blackout screen you will get the sleep you deserve!
Love our blinds. Easy installation and high quality.
We couldn't be happier with our new blinds and the service we received. Someone came to the office and measured all the windows. A few weeks later they were professionally installed. The blinds provide both elegance and warmth to our new office space.
The products are great--however, the installation was a major nightmare! The paper instructions were super unclear. The company should have an installation video on their site for the sideways cellular shades on a patio door. We found something on youtube that helped, but it was still frustrating because it wasn't even the same brand. Thank God my husband was patient and determined to figure it out, otherwise we would have sent them back. Now that the blind is up, it is gorgeous AND functional--helping keep out the cold. It was just a bear to figure out the installation.
The single cell vertical window blind is a great product. Installation instructions need to include that the carrier piece needs to be put into the track before installing the rail. Would have saved me considerable time. On review it appears that the instructions assumed that the rail would arrive with the carrier piece in place. Mine did not.
We bought two blinds. One slider and one open from top or bottom. The dark out blinds are great. The slider blind was a bit more difficult to install but works great.
We received our order but when unpacking it they had the strings for the blinds extremely tightly taped with packing tape so when trying to unpack it one string was cut because you couldn't tell it was there. While in the past select blinds did an excellent job they have not been as positive this time around.
Website is easy to order from. Blinds are nice. Installation instructions were not good.
Very happy with previous orders. Encouraged others to use your site.
Thsnk you for quick delivery of my beautiful shades! Great quality!
It was easy to order them. Our experience with the website made it easy to measure all 3 windows and to order them.
Very easy to place an order! Quick turnaround and delivery time!
I love my new sliding glass door blind from Select Blinds. It's beautiful and functional and very high quality.
It was an easy process to order once I decided which blinds I loved the best.
I had a friend do the install and we struggled a little with the tension string. He did eventually figure it out and the blind is working perfectly. Not sure if the instructions and photos for that part could be improved as it's critical to get the tension correct?
The blinds are beautiful and operate smoothly. They replaced black out curtains and are 1000 times better.
First off I'd like to say that I love the blinds. That being said I'd advise you to throw the instructions away. If you're an engineer, you might be able to figure it out. Instead call CS for the video on hanging the blind. This video was a huge help, however I followed the measuring instructions exactly and the mounts were hung too low (you'll see what I mean by measuring instructions if you watch the video). Luckily I was mounting into a tongue and groove wall. If I had been mounting into drywall, I would not have been happy. My advice is to hang the blind as best you can, then take new measurements, disassemble the blind, and remount the brackets. I did this twice before I was satisfied, but I've been told I am pretty particular. This blind was an outside mount over a sliding glass door.
In addition, I had three inside mount window blinds. The measurements were exact on my part but the blinds (vertical slide) are an inch short (they are supposed to be 1/2 short). This lets in a lot of daylight for a room darkening blind. Just be aware of this.
As I said I ordered four blinds. I opened one box and there were no instructions. I had to open the next three boxes to find the one instruction manual that was sent. I then set out all the parts from the first box I opened and there were pieces missing. I opened the accessory packages for the other three boxes and had parts all over the place. Some boxes had missing parts and some had extra, so I was forced to play the matching game to come up with four full sets pieces. This was pretty frustrating as I now had all four boxes unpacked and spread out all over my living room. In the end all the pieces were there except for the outside mount blind that covered my sliding glass door. This came with four mounts each with two screw holes and the company only sent four screws instead of 8. This wasn't a big deal for me as I was mounting into tongue and groove so four screws total was sufficient.
As for appearance, the blinds had folded and scuffed material on the tops and bottoms, but it is not readily visible so I'm not too worried about it.
Overall I love the blinds, they are functional, well made, and certainly block out the light (except where they are too short). I give them a rating of 3 stars because the company fell flat on instructions and materials packaging, as well as the short blinds.
We used these blinds in lieu of a door from the Master bath into the walk-in closet. Much better for us than a regular door that needs space to swing in or out. Clean, contemporary look! Works great.
