Safetydetectives has a rating of 1.6 stars from 4 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Safetydetectives ranks 139th among Antivirus Software sites.
Their advertising disclosure states:
" The reviews and rankings we publish may also take into consideration the affiliate commissions we earn for purchases through links on our website, and the providers (ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, Private Internet Access, and Intego) with whom we share common ownership."
Clearly that is not an independent review site. At least they are open about that.
I got a suggestion from the Safety Detectives online review on the best antivirus for a Chromebook, and they rated Norton 360 at number one. So I went for it and bought the subscription only to find out that Chromebook isn't supported by Norton. I had to call Norton for a refund, which is really inconvenient. If you consider yourselves experts in the field, please do your job and research for all types of computers instead of just putting up a list because you got paid for it. Your credibility is questionable.
This review site is biased towards ExpressVPN. I have a suspicion that this review site is owned by Kape Technologies. I don't know for sure if this review site is owned by Kape Technologies. This review site is wrong about ExpressVPN and Kape Technologies owns ExpressVPN. Kape Technologies is known for using malware and that means ExpressVPN isn't safe at all and I highly doubt ExpressVPN can bypass firewalls, so if you're going to censorship countries then don't use ExpressVPN.
Safetydetectives used to be an excellent VPN review site. Honest reviews and real VPN test data.
As of late they have become like all the other "review" sites. They have fallen from grace and are accepting compensation from various VPN companies. They are no longer a review site, but have become an advertising site that is disguised as a review site. With that they have created a serious conflict of interests. Their recommendations are no longer based on the VPN services, but are based on which VPN pays them the best commission. Notice that Express VPN has gone to the top of their recommendations. Express isn't worth the high price and the poor customer service, but they pay generous commissions to their "affiliates." If you want a good recommendation, visit privacytools.io.
