Power city Dublin management is very rude and tried to have a fight with me. Customer service person is using slang language,, they never collect the old product as i paid for for that. They don,t have phone contact just online inquiry. They never contact in positive manner.
Two total bullies. Shocking
I had an absolutely horrendous experience with Power City's customer service, particularly with Anthony McDonald. His behavior was shocking—rude, dismissive, and utterly ignorant. As a representative of the company, his attitude reflects incredibly poorly on the business.
When I requested the managing director's email to escalate my complaint, Anthony outright refused, making it impossible for me to address my concerns at a higher level. It's clear that Power City does not value their customers.
I wrote a formal complaint to Liam McKenna, hoping for some resolution, but this was completely ignored. This blatant disregard for customer concerns highlights a company culture that prioritizes profits over people.
I urge others to consider boycotting this store. They are more than happy to take your money, but when it comes to providing support or resolving issues, their service is non-existent. Power City needs to realize that customers deserve respect and accountability, which is sorely lacking here.
Use the power of the people to make a change—don't support businesses that fail to value their customers.
Avold at all cost, and if you have the misfortune to talk with Damien heis such a rude bitter man we bought a Hisense TV thing it would have RTE player, but it hasn't,said they would not exchange it,as we opened the box,Hisense said they should exchange it but the devil Damien says no exchange,he must love being a tyrant,we are senior citizen so he has no respect for our hard earned cash,so keep away from there stores
Powercity has the worst return policy. The working staff at Powercity Swords is polite and ready to help but this is not the case for that of the head office, who appears to be the opposite.
Won't exchange a brand new unplayed CD player or store note as box was opened. It was a unwanted gift
Never again
I wish I head read the awful reviews below before I went here. Purchased a TV a week ago, asked the 'manager' at the time if it had all the apps as NowTV was required which he confirmed it did have 'all the apps'. When setting-up of course it didn't and only a few were available. Went to return it (open to a swap/store credit etc.) and the manager denied telling me that it had the apps and he stated he advised me at the point of purchase that only 3 apps were available - I can't stress how much of a lie that was, I don't even know if he even recalled the conversation at all and was clearly covering his arse. The apps were the only reason I was there and there is no way I would have bought it if he had told me that. He also didn't seem to understand pretty basic stuff about apps so unsure how he can sell TVs, let alone be a 'manager'.
They wouldn't accept the return as it had been opened (how could I figure all this out without opening it) so basically stuck with a TV we don't need. Tried to complain and the back office 'Customer Service Manager' just backed up the 'manager's response. The responses to the complaint were blunt and no escalation process.
I've never complained in my life but wow it's incredible that this level of 'management' and customer service even exists. The 'manager' was so defensive and covering himself it was strange. Honestly, stay away from here, the selection is also poor and I'd agree with the other reviews that they don't approach you on the floor to assist even when empty, must be the 'manager's' service/style
I bought a 9 Kgs Samsung machine for 800 Euros, it came to be 9 on few cycles while the rest of the cycles are just 4-5 Kgs. I was never told that by the seller who embraced the product.
I talked to Samsung who mentioned I have to monitor the number of towels, piece of clothes I'm putting... etc while there's nothing mentioning that in the manual & when I asked them to send me the info via email they refused, I called power city & they mentioned the same.
There's Samsung Smartcheck app that nobody told me about, I downloaded & used it for checking the washing machine & it says there is no issue with the washing machine, while there's very knocking that woke me up from sleeping.
Bought a Candy Visor Cooker Hood model CFT610/4W online from their website. This product states: EASY TO CLEAN THANKS TO THE WASHABLE GREASE FILTER. Sorry that is false advertising as the filter is paper and there is no mesh filter even though the manual inside the box says it does.
Returning it to the Carrrickmines store am refused a refund as the BOX IS OPEN. Well! Excuse me! I left the box at the cash while the refund was debated for days and days.
How do you find out the product is wrong if you do not open the box, and, MOST important: when customer shows the item is not what advertised you still refuse a refund.
I spent days calling Power City phone support to settle the problem. The point of my complaint is that when a product is not what is advertised, Power City should replace or refund, this is new to me this Irish policy of refusing a refund because box is open, what if you ordered a White Cooker hood and a green one was in the box.
I eventually was refunded my money and ordered a stainless steel cooker hood from IKEA for less.
The new Stainless Steel hood from IKEA works very well in case your wondering. Cheers!
Spent €2,500 on white goods. Persuaded by salesperson to buy all asap as shortage with Brexit. New kitchen being fitted so didn't need all goods till ready for kitchen. Dishwasher was faulty (whirlpool) and got so much grief when we brought it back. Hose at back had small pinholes in it and destroyed our new timber kitchen floor. Sales person so rude and didn't want to know when we brought it back to shop. He had absolutely no interest in trying to resolve problem. Ended up going to small claims and won our case. NEVER AGAIN would we purchase anything in POWERCITY
Contact is only by email.
Asked for name phone email and prove you're not a robot, whatever happened to the simple, salesman answers the phone and you can discuss your query, Curry's same rubbish phone system.
Harvey Norman proper phone service, results I'm going to buy from them.
Today, I wanted to buy a toaster in power city. The price was 44.95euro. The price of D.ID electronics was 39.95euro. Ask customer service sale for 39.95euro. Man told me from the customer service power city that I can't because this product is not available in D.ID electronics :) I went to D. I. D and bought it for 39.95 euros. There were a lot of goods. Power city customer service liars, deceive people, rude. I do not recommend buying anything from Power city malahide road, a person without hair
Be Warned do not buy from power city. Bought washing on a Tuesday it was delivered on Thursday. Had it connected Thursday evening not working. Rang power city to get voice msg saying they do not take phone calls any more go on line. So had to make another trip to store to be told they have to engineer out before they can do anything. One week@ two days before engineer called. A complete new motor went into machine how did it leave factory in that state was it not checked. Power City not one bit interested. So be warned.
I bought 75 tv from this company and I only open the box after 8 days, as I was building tv unit to suit size the tv. When I opened the box it was fine till I turned on tv and the screen had few lines down it. I went to power city next day witch was Sunday and was told I'd have to send email regards my problem.
I did do that and got email back 2 hours later to say sorry, and I was to bring the tv back and it would be replaced … I went back next day they open the box to look at the tv to get the serial number and few pictures of the tv …I got me new tv off powercity and I was happy … have to say I tought I was going to have fight on my hands but they stud tall … 100% I'm happy with the out come I've bought a lot off the company over the years this was my first issue and to me €1250 of tv was big issue …once again I'm so happy
What an absolute disgrace... just a joke of the customer service. Bought an Beko washing machine, WEY84P64EW, after two weeks the door seal tear apart during the standard wash in 30 deg. Just a ripped part of the door seal. Contacted their customer support... and have hit the brick wall. Guy named D... straight away told me that this is my fault and i can F... off. Contacted CCPC and they told me to contact a local in store manager to explain my issue, so I did. Really nice guy in Swords branch said that He will see if anything could be done, as it it should not happen within two weeks. So he wasn't able to contact Beko directly, and he did got in touch with the same guy from PowerCity customer support, and he was told the same. That i can fu. K off. And this guy from Swords branch said that the guy (based on the e-mail) conversation made his decision very fast.
This is all bull.hit, I will not take the blame for something that occurred withing two weeks from the purchase, and during a normal washing operation (washing process).
Stay Away from POWERCITY, AND BEKO.
Appalling customer service. A note to the senior management team - review your policy on customer service and replace the manager. Buy from another retailer.
I bought bosch integrated microwave. Took home, opened the box, didn't go with my kitchen, so took it back to return to store. Store salesman said because its opened, cannot be returned. I left the microwave in the store.
My 370 euro is completely wasted. Being such a big store in Ireland, if can't help customers, it's very annoying for customers.
So, I request you to look into this matter and try to return it.
I only left the Powercity Coolmine Blanchardstown not too long to purchase a product, soon as i entered, i felt discriminated and this particular man start to talk to other staffs making it seems as if i am coming in to the store for a different purpose because i do not understand or is it because i was the only coloured person at the time and people already in the store before i walked in.
I walk to where they are after no one willing to assist than to watch me walking around to look for the product and asked where can i get the Henry Hoover which the direction was point to me. It was not when i am there the man walked up to me to ask me if i needed help and later typed out the product number so i can make payment and i did.
The craziest part of it is when others were receiving there product they were giving right in front of me but this stupid senseless one bringing my product just uttered word saying hey where is your receipts as this is the procedures after they all see me paid and am the only one ordered Henry Hoover and the other customers were not asked, thats pure Discrimination to the highest.
I did mentioned it to the man on the till while making payment, his the only one excluding out of all the staffs working at the Coolmkne Blanchardstown store this morning. I believe this should be looked into, like i said they should never judge any books by it's cover, thanks.
Powercity are so rude in there customer service. Hello damien we are talking about you and I can see from reviews here and other place many other people think the same. Drivers refusing to take old fridges and laughing at you as the walk away shouting back good look with that. And telling me he would take it away if he came back for a cost. Hidden costs and drivers with attitude great customer service no wounder ur ratings are so low. I would recommend you use DID or one of the others.
I purchased a washing machine in the Powercitys Fonthill branch. I explained to salesman in the store that delivery will be up a long duplex staircase and that I don't mind paying for delivery but that it will need two men and a trolley on wheels to complete job. I was promised this would be no problem. On the day of delivery one man turned up and informs me that he cant enter the premises due to covid risks.he let me haul a 63kg machine up 20 steps on my own and let me bring old machine down the same steps.im still in pain. The machine weight nearly pulled me down the stairs. A complete lack of care for customer safety. Health and safety authority needs to be informed. Paperwork with machine states because of machine weight it needs two men. Delivery driver was alone. Rang customer care and they didn't want to know. Stay away from powercity at all costs. Duty of care to customers non existent. Customer complaints dept a joke.go somewhere else for your goods. Everyone should boycott Powercity over appalling customer service. Loads of complaints all over the internet. Have a look for yourself. I will never shop there again over what happened to me and will spread my story like wildfire. Zero stars.
I purchased a vacuum cleaner earlier this month from Powercity. It was faulty, I returned it to the store and met two separate store reps, they turned the unit on and both said that the noise was normal for this product... the vacuum cleaner sounded like a jet engine!. I emailed Power City customer service, sent videos of the problem... I might as well of been talking to a wall. No refund or replacement product offered!
I had to contact the manufacturer, sent them the video, they heard the noise and recommended I return it to the seller for replacement.
With the notification from the manufacturer Power City finally accepted that the unit was faulty and provided a refund... Buyer beware, If not for taking my own time to go direct with manufacturer, I would have been left with a faulty product!
Answer: With return policy in use Powercity soon will have no customers st all. Everyone can see that only one or two cars and very often none, are parked on the front yard of Powercity in Swords. The staff working there is polite and helpful but not the head office itself.
