At the time of writing this, NMC Toys owes me over 100$ of products that were never shipped. The orders were made well over 2 years ago. I asked for a refund over 5 months ago and my emails are ignored. Even if I had positive experiences with them at first, I can now say that I will never place any more orders with them.
The first time I bought action figures with this online shop was a good experience. But last year I ordered two figures and I didn't get them. I sent several e-mails to the seller but I got just automatic e-mails. I don't trust in this seller anymore and I can see a lot of bad reviews around the toy collectors community. I don't know how it continue running business in this way.
BE CAREFUL, DON'T BUY FROM THIS SELLER! AVOID HIM!
Stay away from this store….they take your preorder money with no intention of sending you product…then refuse to refund your money.DO NOT BUY FROM NMC TOYS If you value your money.
NMC Toys (https://nmctoys.ca/) located in Toronto, Ontario is a VERY SHADY BUSINESS.
Address: West Side Parking Lot Entrance, 535 Queen St E Suite 5, Toronto, ON M5A 1V1
The owner does not have a physical store where you can shop nor a phone number where you can contact them for support. When you email the company, they send automated responses and take their sweet time (sometimes months) getting back to you. Then you might get an angry or insulting response from the owner and then it's months of arguing over getting a basic refund. The tactic is to basically wait for your credit protection to run out, then grind you down, and force you to take store credit for low grade, unwanted merchandise that is sitting around in the "warehouse".
If you actually place an order you'll never get your order delivered and the owner is passive-aggressive, rude, and downright insulting. I ordered multiple products starting in 2020 and none have been delivered, even though they are available to purchase everywhere else, and some have even seen a second re-stock in Canadian stores. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and shop elsewhere. There are plenty of other options to choose from in Canada. If you are considering ordering, visit this site first to see why you shouldn't:

I have been a collector for over 20 years and never in my life have I run across such an arrogant, incompetent, or spineless thieving business owner, and I have purchased items from numerous companies for many, many years.
If you feel you have been wronged by this *******@khead, contact your provincial Consumer Protection Agency or the Toronto Police Department. Better still, take the owner to small claims court. It doesn't cost much, you can represent yourself, and you will most likely win your case in a civil tribunal or trial if it comes to that. The satisfaction of winning your case and seeing this guy go out of business will be worth it.
I placed an order with only IN-STOCK items, and after a month, I received nothing. And he doesn't respond to the email, I will request a chargeback with my credit card company, only way to have my money back. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS WEBSITE.
He took my money and ghosted me.
He did not send me the instock items from my order.
He did not answer to my emails.
Really poor/non existent customer service! Austin is very arrogant and will berate you and have every excuse in the book... "I'm only one person. I'm a small business. If you bothered reading... Did you send to the correct email address? The emailing system is screwed up" etc. His excuses never end! It is NEVER his fault, and ALWAYS the customers'! I replied to someone's comment on an item that Austin posted on his Facebook page once and I got banned from his page! He also wouldn't reply to the different emails I sent to his different "departments" but as soon as I opened up a PayPal claim against NMC Toys, he literally answered the PayPal message under 2 minutes flat! I'm trully thankful to have gotten my money back in full. I do feel sorry for all the ones that have been waiting 2+ years, got screwed over and had their money taken from him. How this guy is still running a business is just simply baffling to me. Wish I could leave ZERO stars.
Shop elsewhere for your collectibles folks! BUYER BEWARE!
They never answer their emails, there is no number to call. Been waiting 1 month for my parcel to arrive. Should have been here 3 weeks ago. Scammers
This has been a crappy 2 years trying to get what I want from this company. I originally started off wanting toony terrors and his site was the only Canadian site showing that they had and could get them all. I was excited I ordered and waited patiently for a long while. Then one day I go to check on their site and notice one of the sets I had pre ordered said it wasn't happening, I got no notice from the site at all, i had to find it myself. Then when I reached out saying I'd like a refund and I don't want any of the order at all if I couldn't get the total of what I had ordered and since the lack of communication from the store itself I figured the refund would be easy. NO this guy proceeds to tell me that I'm basically SOL and I have to take what has already arrived and he would be only able to allow me other items from the store because it was over a certain amount of time so I couldn't get a refund on the unfulfilled part of the toony terrors even though it was their lack of letting a customer know that somethig couldnt be fulfilled.
After going back and forth with this dude and his staunchy attitude I finally pick another toy, a lion-o from super 7 and I've been waiting forever and a day for that. So I decided to reach out to super 7 to see if they directly do buisness with this dude and to see if the toy had been released or not as nmctoys.ca said it was due q4 of 2021 and it was some time in 2022 by this point. They say no they don't do direct buisness and that the toy has been released and again with no warning or notification from NMC. When I address the guy in email he freaks out and sounds like he's about to blow a brain gasket and I tell him I just want my money back and he can sell the toony terrors that did arrive to someone else. Nope that wouldn't be happening either, he just proceeds to place blame everywhere and how hard his life, job and company are like im supposed to just leave my money there and feel bad.
I just want my money back and to cut ties with this company I wouldn't do buisness with these people on pre orders as they are lacking in that department. I'm sure if you buy an item that's already there you would probably have a great experience but i have not and I recommend you get your pre-orders direct from the source and just pay the duties and save yourself a headache and a nauseating experience. I just sent another email today asking for items that are already in the store so im hoping this can end. I don't even really want the items I've asked for im just taking them so i can cut my losses and walk away from this experience and never look back.
UPDATE!
Now all I keep getting is some automated email response when messaging on Jan 13th, Jan 28th and now on Feb 9th. I just want my money back.
Order a bunch of pre-order toys. Never received the items. Emailed a dozen times asking about order/ refund. Zero reply after several months of being late.
Horrible customer service (very offensive, defensive, combative and somewhat abusive). Also, I never got what I ordered. Additionally, they would not refund the order, even though they failed to fulfill the order ( with 2.5 years of lies and excuses). Finally, I took store credit just to stop dealing with them (got very crappy in stock items cause they can't fullfil pre orders). Worst company in the world. The owner needs a mental health assessment; he's a complete psycho (and I was patient and nice (didn't help being nice here tho, they just strung me along). Btw: Do Not believe anything they say. Trust your fellow collectors, this company is incredible dishonest and absolutely the worst. Also: They told me I can't go to the Better Business Bureau, but I dont trust them and I probably still will.
I ordered a few items via NMCToys.ca on June 4,2021. It's now September 23,2022 and never received my order. They had no problem taking my money immediately.
The owner Austin Da Silveira's best offer was store credit. Store credit is no good if you don't send the items I order with it.
I'm currently disputing the transaction with Paypal and I hope for a favorable conclusion.
In the meantime, I'm ensuring I leave reviews everywhere I can so people can stay away from his website and hopefully his business practices will end.
This has to be the worst customer service I experienced and the worst business owner and a thief I had ever dealt with.
Owner is a complete narcissist. Don't you dare ask for your product or his fragile ego will break down into pages and pages of emails gaslighting, manipulating, and blaming everyone and everything for his problems.
There are two types of customers at NMC Toys: those that have had issues with an order, and those that have yet to. For those that have never had to reach out to this store's support system (and calling it a "system" is me being generous), congratulations, you're one of the lucky few. For everyone else, you will know exactly what I'm talking about when I say that this is without a doubt the worst store to shop at in Canada.
I sent an email to NMC Toys about my order which has been delayed for months, and Austin Da Silveira's response (the owner of this business) was nothing short of condescending, aggressive, and lacking any semblance of professionalism. Never have I come across a business that is run by a man who has such contempt and disdain for his customers. And yet, he expects his customers to show him nothing but respect in return as he holds their orders and their pre-payments hostage.
If you've ever seen that episode of Kitchen Nightmares with Amy's Baking Company (you know, the one where Gordon Ramsay gave up trying to help the business because the owners were such a lost cause) the owner of NMC Toys acts strikingly similar to the owners of that restaurant. And that's not hyperbole. Austin immediately paints himself as a victim to even the slightest amount of criticism, and he refuses to show any empathy for customers that have been waiting for delayed orders for months. He even goes so far as to call all of his critics 'haters' and 'Karens' as he mocks them on his Facebook page like a teenager would. Ironically, Austin embodies a 'Karen' to a T—he's just too narcissistic to recognize that.
And before the owner tries to discredit my review because my name doesn't match anyone in his 'system' (again, there's nothing systematic about the way he runs his business) let me be clear that I'm using an alias. Lord knows if I used my real name I'd never receive my order from this store; although given how long it's been delayed I've about lost all hope that I'll actually receive anything I paid for.
In conclusion, if you are thinking about shopping at NMC Toys, avoid at all costs. If you've shopped here before and had no issues with your order, count yourself lucky and don't take your chances again for risk of being subjected to the horrible treatment that myself and so many other patrons of this store have been subjected to. I suppose the fact that the store's logo is a rip off of RUN DMC should have tipped me off to the notion that the owner has no integrity whatsoever. You live and you learn I guess.
PS. For anyone wondering how there can be so many positive reviews for such an awful store, here's your answer. The store's owner recently ran a promotion where he paid people for reviews. Of course, this promotion was only advertised on his social media accounts, so only people who actively follow his pages (again, the lucky few who have not yet been scorned by this business) were encouraged to leave a review. If a business feels the need to change their name (this store was formally called Northmen Collectables--you can see even more awful reviews if you look that up) and actively pay for reviews to boost their reputation, well, I think you get the idea.
Terrible customer service, will find every excuse to get around refunds, no priority for customers who have paid for pre orders. I'd stay away.
Before you consider buying from NMC please google Northmen collectibles reviews.
You will easily find dozens and dozens of storys about people being harrassed, disrespected and ripped off.
This guy pays people to write good reviews for him to counteract the honest reviews
Shop at your own risk
When i ordered from NMC, everything was great until it wasnt. The owner seemed polite and respectful until there was an issue and then it went from fine to horrible.
Out of nowhere it felt like i was dealinf with an immature, spiteful teenager who had no social skills and it was a challenge to get my money back. If it were up to NMC i wouldnt have got my refund. Thank you paypal.
I have read many different reviews from people about NMCToys.ca, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, thats what the internet is for. But my experience for over the last year of service has been amazing. The company is based in eastern Canada and I live in the North Western part of Canada (YUKON), and shipping to use is not always the easiest or best thing. So far if I had to cancel an item from one of my orders, they have easily given me in-store credit with no explanation needed. I have had to ship back an item with no problems, a lot less painful then Amazon.ca. I had to ask them to put my order on hold because of financial issues, and I was not harrassed about it, they put the order aside and ask me to just let them know when things got better to continue with the order. Their prices are a lot better than many Canadian stores I have looked at online, so I really have no complaints, just a satisfied costumer.
Sometimes before people read reviews about any company, just give them a try. There is always 2 sides to a story and this social media bull$#*!, people will only read the one side. When the person complaining about a business didn't get their way, how did they treat the business, that's the part that is never explained.
I will continue to order from NMCTOYS.CA, this is one satisfied customer.
Cheers,
Happy Yukoner
Owner will steal money for preorders that will never be filled and only option to get money back is for owner to keep 20% as his stealing fee or take store credit so owner can get rid of his unsellable stock. Most times in-stock orders are not actually in-stock and you are in same situation as with the preorders. You will have to send emails for many months to have an order cancelled. The owner will only respond to emails once the time limit is up on being able to file dispute from credit card or paypal. Do not waste your money and time at this fake store.
In fear of the owner sending me more angry emails and harrassing me, I will keep this short. If you pre-order from this shop, you will likely have the same experience that I and dozens of others who have written reviews have had - you won't receive your item. Guess how long I've waited on an order slated to come in 2020? 12 months. In a few months from the time of writing this review it will be 2022. He charges your card first (the owner, Austin Da Silveira) and charges you if you request a refund, no matter your reason. But what is worse than losing money on something you didn't receive at the fault of NMC Toys is that the owner will degrade you, talk down to you, attack your character, your knowledge and your experience. He will call your struggles a "sob story." He proudly asserts, on public reviews and on reddit that the customer is NOT always right. Please stay away from NMC toys. Please. As someone in business, this is nothing against small businesses nor is it slander, but for the safety of fellow collectors, STAY AWAY.
Worst owner of a business to ever have to deal with. I will not be focussing this review on the business itself. That's not the issue. It's how it's run and how you're treated as a customer.
This guys version of "customer service" is abysmal and doesn't even exist. The lack of ethics and morals is unreal. "Let me be perfectly clear" something you'll most definitely hear or read when getting a response from this guy. He will berate you. He will tell you openly that the customer is not always right and that if you're human and make any error or mistake at all you deserve verbal abuse, gas-lighting and condescending remarks.
He is spiteful and believes the customer should be responsible for fees his business incurs should you choose to file any claim through your bank or PayPal.
Also, if you do file any claim whatsoever, regardless of how much or little you give him you'll immediately be banned. He is a keyboard warrior like no other I've ever seen. If you need any proof, just look at his google reviews. Specifically the negative ones, as he can't help himself but to respond and air as much dirty laundry as he is legally able to.
It's worth paying other businesses more money to avoid dealing with this toxic, salty and mean-spirited individual. Heed my warning or don't.
I will say, you will get your products and have a normal customer experience of absolutely nothing goes wrong. At all. Good luck!
