My DNA sample never reached the MyHeritage lab. After contacting customer support, I was told that a replacement DNA kit could be sent to me.
Since that message, MyHeritage has completely stopped responding. I have sent multiple emails and submitted repeated requests through their official support form, with no reply at all.
This level of customer support is unacceptable, especially for a paid service dealing with sensitive personal data. Promising a solution and then ignoring the customer shows a lack of professionalism and accountability.
I would not recommend MyHeritage based on this experience. I will update this review if the company finally contacts me and resolves the issue.
Among the worst customer service I have encountered in 70 years. It was designed not to answer but to deflect complaints. I thought I had cancelled my 14-day trial after one day, when I discovered that MyHeritage did not have mainstream UK files. Somehow I failed to cancel. On being charged the annual subscription, I got in touch immediately as I had not used the site after the first day. Eventually someone from Customer Services rang. Their function was to get me to sign up for even more facilities although I made it clear, I wished to cancel the account and be refunded. The agent was so persistent that he told me twice to stop interrupting him when I tried to explain that I did not want more features. In the end I gave up trying to explain. Instead of a proper refund, I was given 25% and several new features which I did not ask for. I assume that I shall be automatically charged for renewing these too.
My experience with MyHeritage is multifaceted, and can be divided into several areas:
1. Customer Support and Error Resolution
The assistance provided in resolving errors works exceptionally well and is impressively swift. In this respect, MyHeritage offers a highly reliable and professional service.
2. Desktop Application
The desktop program installed on the computer is, however, rather user-unfriendly and somewhat cumbersome. It feels awkward both for quick reviews and for more in-depth work, lacking the fluidity and responsiveness one would expect from a modern genealogical tool.
3. Web Version
The web interface is, in certain respects, more intuitive and generally more pleasant to use. Nevertheless, several important features are missing. For instance:
In an era where objects can be moved freely with a mouse, the absence of drag-and-drop functionality feels notably outdated.
* Tree navigation is limited; I miss the ability to select an entire branch and view or manipulate the full "chain" with ease.
* Searching for individuals — even when entering the full name — remains overly broad and insufficiently precise.
* Uploading PDF files or images, processing them, and linking them to individuals is unnecessarily demanding and not particularly user-friendly.
* The frequent promotion of *paid* matches and features interrupts the workflow and feels somewhat intrusive.
These are perhaps some of the more critical aspects that would merit revision and improvement.
Overall Assessment
Taken as a whole, both the desktop and web versions are reasonably effective and serve their purpose for complex genealogical work. With a few thoughtful enhancements, however, the user experience could become significantly more refined and contemporary.
My experience with MyHeritage has been both productive and genuinely enjoyable. As someone deeply engaged in family history research, I've found the platform intuitive and rich in international records, helping me make meaningful discoveries across borders. The Smart Matches and record suggestions have saved me hours of work. I've also been very impressed with their customer support: responsive, helpful, and reassuring whenever I've had queries. It's a service that clearly understands and supports the needs of its subscribers, whether beginners or more experienced researchers.
I am incredibly grateful to Dorcas from the MyHeritage support team. I encountered several technical issues with our DNA tests, including a very stressful situation where my 91-year-old grandmother's test was unfortunately lost at the lab. Dorcas stepped in and resolved the issue efficiently, which was a huge relief.
Beyond just fixing the problems, she was exceptionally attentive and human in her approach, offering support that went above and beyond. She even suggested additional opportunities that helped me research our family history more effectively. Her professional yet compassionate handling of our situation made a world of difference during a difficult time (we live in a war zone unfortunately). I highly recommend her to anyone needing assistance—she is truly an outstanding representative of the team!
I find it very easy to navigate the website and add info. It gets a bit overwhelming at times with emails every day with more relatives. I'd rather not have so much detail.
Have been a user of My Heritage for 6-7 years. Received call from my Account Manager about new heritage companies they have bought. One was Family Tree Legacy which links into current tree etc. however, software is not apple compliant. To use it one has to do very convoluted process - beyond my expertise and patience. Tried getting a refund but so many hurdles!
When locked out because of mistake in changing password, all help offered required me to be able to get on the site - which being "locked out' meant I could not follow any directions. Being creative, I began to leave desperate notes on any sites listed that I could access using my account # and personal information. About the time, I decided to let it be and go back to a prior company, someone responded to my email and the actual problem was fixed in 2 days. It was a simple fix. I worked with two of your employees and they were both professional, friendly and quickly resolved issue. I noticed while searching the internet for help, others using My Heritage were having similar problems. This was the second year that the required by you change of passwords caused me issues, unnecessarily. Hope it's the last.
I have found more family records and actually made contact with relatives i had never met in person from the other side of the world through MyHeritage, it's been a blast!
The MyHeritage system I've been using more then 5 years. It's complex and sophisticate system for serious work over family history. There're some problems, but very specific, for example marriage between not close relatives - cousin and nephew etc. You must be very careful to accept matches especially, when you have a lot of relatives in you base.
You can work with MH by just copying information posted by other MH members. MH provides an excellent, quick way to add info to your own family tree. But be warned MH does nor guarantee this info is correct. For example, I found a grandfather right back to 1200 who was "born in America". Tell that to Christopher Columbus! He thought he was the first to land there in 1492.
Another tip is to check for typing mistakes in dates, where you may have given a child a date of birth long after his/her mother died. MH has a good consistency checker which you should use regularly.
There is a really good Service desk which answers questions very quickly and thoroughly.
To sum up. Look at joining MH as a hobby. Use AI, Wikipedia, museum records, etc to investigate. MH will regularly send you mails with details of other members with the same ancestors. Again check the info sent, as it might put you on the track of some ancestor you didn't know about but first CHECK.
MH offers he opportunity to contact members who have the same ancestors in common. I thought this was an interesting feature, especially if the member lived thousands of kilometers from where the family originally started. My experience however is that very few I have contacted reply. BUT MH gives you the info you need to try to contact them.
I have been researching my family for nearly 2 years, and have built up a library of bibliographies for my grandchildren. The stories I have discovered about my ancestors are fascinating. If you have just retired and are looking for a hobby which keeps your brain active I can certainly recommend joining My Heritage.
I am very satisfied with MyHeritage. The program has greatly helped me with my family history research, and I have been able to discover many important details about my ancestors. Working with the family tree is easy and clear, and the search tools for historical records are very powerful.
I also appreciate the excellent customer support. Since I do not speak English, I was worried about communicating, especially by phone, but the support agent was extremely patient, kind, and understanding. She explained everything slowly and clearly, which allowed me to resolve my issue without any problems.
Overall, MyHeritage is a reliable and very helpful tool for anyone interested in genealogy, and I highly recommend it.
I've been looking for my great grandfather's family for 40 years. Finally found them on My Heritage and can go back 6 generations so far! I started out as a free trial and then signed up.
I try to respond quickly to all Smart Matches but have recently been overwhelmed by very large bundles of matches. In recent cases more than 900 Sm Matches were dumped on my site. I cannot properly review such large demands and am slowly working thru them
MyHeritage provides multiple names in multiple locations to choose from. All do not fit my family tree, however, on occasion, it is suggestive of locations that maybe worth researching.
Have been a member for almost eight years & it's been fascinating, finding where my ancestors were from & making connections with two half sisters plus numerous distant cousins
I really enjoy MyHeritage - learning about my family history. It's been fascinating and enlightening to see the tree grow and to wonder how my ancestors lives must have been. Losing loved ones fairly young, I missed the opportunity to ask many questions about our history and this is a way to discover more. I like the set up and am still learning to navigate some of it. I'm thankful the friendly staff rang near renewal and made it possible for me to continue, it can be a little pricey, but is a great experience and hopefully will help other generations! Thank you.
As above a very addictive experience, once you start and delve into your family's past l found it very hard to put it down. Can be frustrating at times trying to trace a relative but the My Heritage Team have been a godsend giving me guidance with matches etc. Great experience, love the research.
I have had an excellent experience with MyHeritage since 2019. The website is very intuitive and the customer support is very friendly yet professional. Highly recommended if you are interested in research your family history!
MyHeritage is a really good tool for exploring your ancestry. However it can be a little har to navigate and understand where to find all the amazing tools.
I have been researching on and off, depending on my commitments. Like most people, the walls, rabbit holes, and head scratching became normal.
When I first joined My Heritage, I found it to be a quietly remarkable companion. The site guided me with ease through records and connections I never thought I would uncover. Its intuitive layout and gentle prompts made the experience feel less like data gathering and more like storytelling. In my own experience, MyHeritage offers not just information, but a sense of belonging and a fresh beginning through time worn eyes. I have found that My Heritage nudges you along and allows you to wander at your own pace. I've unearthed connections and stories that have made me smile, pause, and even raise an eyebrow. To sum it up, I have found My Heritage to be a quietly profound experience.
I have been using MyHeritage for many years now and have been very satisfied with most of its features and capabilities, especially its access to data bases that help you build your family tree. As features are refined and added, I'm hoping they will add the ability to access "biography" via their smart phone ap. I've used this cell a great deal to enhance the details of many relatives, and it would be great o be able to access this information when "on the go". Other than that missing feature, MyHeritage is great!
Meir listened to the issues of my complaint and provided an amicable solution for me. I'm therefore very satisfied with the call. I am more likely, as a result, to continue my membership.
It's sad, however, that MyHeritage as a company appears more interested in protecting and increasing revenues than anything else.
I'm enjoying using MyHeritage and building my tree faster than I was using other sites. There are a few things I am still learning about, such as making mistakes and how to rectify them
I am quite literally blown away with this unique service. The step by step instructions were easy to follow. Post your package and then wait. The results were unexpected and it ended the family myth of our ancestors came from a shipwrecked Spanish galleon
Since last on site, approx 2 yrs ago, there seems to have been quite a few changes.
The one I find most annoying is that I can only print a list up to 5 generations, and this list starts printing a third of the way down the paper, chops someone off at the bottom.
If I am wrong about this, please advise.
Previously I could go to the profile of an ancestor, even a few hundred years back, and it would print all, across the top of the page.
From 2015 on I used this tool to make my family-tree grow into a huge one that goes at one point back to 23 generations where a Swiss branch has members in and around Zurich and its lake. I have been able to ad well over 10.000 persons to my tree, who played all a part in history. One elaborate, the other modest. And through My Heritage I even found long lost family back and made contact.
To keep in touch and find new members of the family, My Heritage is a really great tool, brilliant. I have been able to find out information about family's past and present and has allowed me to build a tree that can passed on for future prosperity.
From a start more than 10 years ago to some 1,500 hundred people in our tree, I have found My Heritage easy to use, with incredible add-ons and research capabilities. Communication from the company is good and, although I have only used their customer service once, the issue was dealt with fast and well.
First a few hiccups but we straightened it out. I found my grandfathers information on my fathers side and no one else could find it! To me that was excellent and outstanding work
Been a user for about 5 months. Easy to find info up until 1775, then the tree becomes a challenge to continue…names are sometimes different (Poland esp). And death dates are blank. Matching is a nice feature as the tree gets populated an email tells you to check their matches!
If you want to spend all your spare time studying history and bloodlines, then this is the site for you. I have become totally addicted to piecing together my ancestry now. There is a wonderful bonus to this study for me. I get to know my ancestors lives and the times they were in.
My Heritage is improving over time. So is their information gathering. One day I am hoping they will invent a duplicate ancestor aspect for lines that hold the same families.
I started off with a little bit of knowledge about two great grandparents on both sides. With the help of MyHeritage and access to other genealogy sites I have more than 1200 direct ancestors. What a revealing and exiting road this is.
I am so very pleased to have found MyHeritage! It is helping me immensely in terms of connecting not only with my ancestors, but others within my family line alive today! Thank you MyHeritage for all that you do for so many!
I have been doing genealogical research since 1986 and never looked back. Although I only do this as a hobby, I love finding new information if and when it pops up. My parents where immigrants from Holland to South Africa and I was born here. The history of my 4 grandparents is an absolute joy. My husband's family all have European roots and finding information is a task I love. With My heritage everything is kept save and available.
Myheritage review
SCAMMERS! BEWARE! DON'T USE! They start your "free trial" as soon as you purchase the kit, but you can't make use of the free trial/website subscription until your sample is ready! For some reason it takes 2 weeks for you to receive the kit; then you'd think it would take 1-3 days for them to receive it from you via Royal Mail (that's if you took your DNA sample right away), but I sent my kit on 7 days ago on 20/01/26, yet today is 27/01/26 and on their website it says they haven't received it yet?! (unless it's been lost, but this is besides the point); then according to them, it takes them several weeks until your results are ready! But after your "free trial", you're automatically charged £114! So the trial is a lie/nonsense that you can't even use before your results are ready. And you get charged without even having received a service yet! SCAM. Shame on them!
Website provides errors, or hints or possible people who should be in your family tree. It is a great website for research so family history can be taken back prior to the USA becoming its own country.
The emails giving details of matches are welcome, but cover a lot of information that needs to be checked and can be overwhelming at times. Checking things out can take hours and not be completed, which leads me to need to back-track.
Its not always easy to remember what has been added to the family tree, although an email is sent summarising the changes.
The customer representative began by thanking me for my nine years of membership with My Heritage. He then discussed the new plans offered, and together we determined what best met my needs.
It's helped me find hundreds of new ancestors. It also made me laugh when MyHeritage found a pedigree associated with my father. Amusingly, it was his collie's pedigree, with a link to the American Kennel Club! I and my genealogy friends thought we'd die laughing!
I've been researching some of my Grandfathers brothers & sisters lately from my mother's side. Had some luck finding some new relatives that I didn't know I had. The record search have been a great help so far. Not finished yet but will keep trying.
Overall my experience with MyHeritage has been mixed. For someone starting to trace their family back in time, it is a very good resource to develop a family tree, even if you are a newcomer to this journey.
As time goes on and the family relationship discoveries become obscure, it is hard to justify paying for a premium membership especially in these times when the price of living continues to rise.
The Myheritage site now requires advanced software so I can no longer use it on my old computer. I am left with no alternative other than to use it on my mobile phone, but here it lacks functions, for example photo editing and the ability to connect and disconnect family members from parents etc. Reviewing smart watches is also harder on a phone so I don't do it as much anymore.
MyHeritage is very helpful both in finding living relatives, and ancestors who have passed on. The Smart Matches make it easy to locate people in my own tree who are similar, if not exact, matches for those in another person's tree.
I do not like you method of matching. Smart matches are not smart. You require me to accept a match with some random person's site I know nothing about with out being able to see whether or not they have any sourcing for their claims. I don't want people randomly added to my tree without knowing where the information came from and if there is any sourcing, or it was simply copied from another random person's tree. That to me is not serious genealogy. I do not consider MyHeritage trees an actual source. I do get some good hints that I will check out on other sites, but I find it very hard to add, correct or use MyHeritage. That may be because I do not often use it, so am unfamiliar with how it is set up. But the reason I don't use it goes back to my original complaint listed above. I do love Theory of Family Relativity and have used that a lot. Matching newspaper articles is very frustrating as the entire page must be saved. I don't understand why you don't have a method for saving the pertinent article. It is often extremely hard to find that article in a full page of print, when you do not highlight it. Seems to me that would be an easy fix. Ancestry has it.
I was very disappointed to find trees without sources. We all know how unreliable how word of mouth or guessing can be so I'm not sure I will get any value out of this site. I did decide to give it the full year to continue testing it.
Thanks to MyHeritage, I have discovered my ancestors going back seven generations. I have met my living relatives and am now in contact with them.
Advice for beginners. Information from MyHeritage needs to be supplemented with searches in the Archives. Fortunately, despite the destruction caused by wars, many records have been preserved in Europe, allowing you to learn about your ancestors' history in considerable detail.
MyHeritage is an very good product but that does not necessarily mean results will be obtained. Users don't always respond to queries about reported matches. Almost all the matches reported to me are not sufficiently close.
It is easy to use. Coming from a Huge Family is a tad overwhelming, but exciting at the same time. Linking us to relatives on other Continents is mind blowing. We all came from everyone that was on Noah's Ark. Genesis 6 for reference.
I have been a member of the My Heritage site for several years. For some reason, this year they decided to automatically renew my membership - it has never automatically renewed before - and took over £200 from my credit card without any email being sent in advance saying this would happen, how much would be taken, or explaining how this transaction could be stopped. I only found out because my credit card company contacted me as they were about to stop my card because of suspicious activity. I have contacted My Heritage about this and all I got in reply was a copy of an email they sent me ONE YEAR AGO when I made my previous (manual) payment stating that it was an annual subscription. Again no where in this email does it say the payment is recurring. All other sites I subscribe to send an email a few weeks ahead of renewal to remind me, they don't seem to think this is necessary. I am in the process of trying to get this money refunded - I hold my breath - BEWARE!

Dear Stephen,
Thank you for posting here on SiteJabber.
Would you be so kind as to contact me from your registered MyHeritage email address to [email protected] and by writing Dean/SiteJabber in the subject line. This way you will be forwarded directly to me and I will personally investigate this matter for you.
I posted my family tree at FTB and discovered many different links with other families. It was very nice. You receive e-mails with smart matches and record matches with a lot of new information about your ancestors.
The website is wonderful. I only use the web version (not the desktop platform) and it pretty much covers all I need.
I've had very positive experiences with Ansectry.com though, and one thing in their favor is their oncredible record matches. For some reason, in that sense, I had a more positive experience with them.
All in all - great. Still short on some albums and charts features by superior by far to anything else Ive had a chance of using.
Gracias... Para mi es excelente
I went on this site once, I was on it for maybe 20 mins. It held no information I was searching for. I logged off and thought nothing about it. I DON'T recall reading ANY price lists on the screen. I also DON'T recall anywhere saying if you DON'T respond to our email we will bill you for this year and continuously unless you can find a way to stop us. It wasn't until $155.61 AUS was stolen from my account that I rang my bank and had my card stopped. I will take all measures to make sure this deceptive company is brought to justice. You haven't heard the last about this.

Dear Sue,
Thank you for posting here on SiteJabber.
When a user enters into a subscription there is always a 'Thank you for your purchase' email sent to you which notifies you of the current charge and also future pending charges. Similarly if you have entered into the 7 or 14 day free trial Data subscription. An email for this is also sent notifying the user that at the end of the free trial period a charge for continuation of the subscription will take place should you as the user not contact MyHeritage before hand.
I do understand your frustration and I would therefore suggest that you contact the MyHeritage support team and the friendly staff will be on hand to handle any inquiry you may have.
The team at MyHeritage are very good at providing assistance when needed. Loading information is easy and there are good guidelines. I found that the basic (Free) Family Tree entry very limited. There are other Family Tree Web-sites who offer a better deal.
What I didn't like is the fact that only part of my GEDcom is viewable for free. Another thing I do not like is that even though MyHeritage says they will bill you annually if you do not have a debit or credit card. But once the process is finished, MYHeritage asks you to then download the form, print it out and mail it in with your annual subscription. This is deceptive.

Dear Jim,
Thank you for posting a review here on SiteJabber for us. I would just like to clear up for you a couple of the issues that you have mentioned.
A MyHeritage family site at a Basic level has a limit of 250 people. Should your GEDCOM file be larger than this limit then only part of the file will be uploaded.
With regards to the printing of the form for payment. This only happens when you do not have a Debit or Credit card and you wish to pay via bank transfer for your subscription as there is no other physical way to charge you offline.
Almost 3 years ago, in 2012, I came into contact with a website called www.myheritage.com. The site invites you to first type in your name, then the name of your mother and father, and then you start to build your family tree. Later I invited other family members, and not long and I was able to identify the side of the Swanepoel family, the family from the side of my mother, the Swanepoel tree and followed the tree up to tree father who came to South Africa, Pieter Janz Swanepoel. Then I did the same for the van der Merwe tree, the tree father; Willem Schalk van der Merwe and some others family trees also. The Talaard family tree was still a great mystery. Thanks to myheritage.com, I became a premium member which allowed my to have access to 2.6 billion records on the internet, but a name of Michael Johannes Taljaard (I was told I received my grandfather's name) was not to be found on the internet of any of his relatives. Nowhere in the other Taljaard family trees available on myheritage.com, does the name "Michael Taljaard" even appear. Then I decided to apply for a full birth certificate, an unabridged birth certificate of my father, Gert Petrus Taljaard, born on the 5th of June 1939. I was surprised and shocked when I found out that I had a grandfather with a different name, not "Michael Johannes" but "Petrus Lafras Taljaard (PL3.)". With the help of myheritage.com I could then work my way up to the tree father Jacob Taillard. Subsequently I wrote a book on the Taillard/Taljaard family This book contains 122 court case documents, 202 pages and just over ******* words. During this time between May and October 1754, the Cape of Good Hope was devastated with loss of 2072 people. This took place 50 years before the English took over the Cape of Good Hope from the Dutch Nation. The book looks at two civil cases and one criminal case against Jacob Taillard and his sentenced to Robben Island. At the return of Jacob Taillard from Robben Island he worked at the Company for another 12 years, his retirement from the Company, his marriage to Johanna Elisabeth Buijs, their last will and testament, their life together and their 3 sons. I found out what happened to his first wife Maria Petronella Jordaan, their son Louis Francois after Jacob Taillard was sentenced. Then I look at Louis Francois Taljaard, his farms he owned and his children. At the end of this book, you will find a list of the Taljaard family that is available on myheritage.com. This was my chance to find my ancestors. I always wanted to write a book and this was my fourth book I wrote on heritage matters. If I did not register in 2012 at myheritage.com, I would not have achieved all the above. Michael Taljaard.
They charged me after my free subscription had run out, dispite the fact i just forked out over £120 quid on a premium package, before my trial had finished. I am still waiting on a email back, they also only seem to have one phone number which is really hard to find and even harder to get through to a real person. I expect i will get a responce after my 30 money back guarantee is up.

Dear Sarah, Thank you for writing your review here on Site Jabber for us. I have also answered you in the questions section of this site and I would recommend that you contact [email protected] and the friendly team will be more than willing to assist you with any problem you may be having with your account.
I was searching for a long time a good way to create a Family tree... I just started to write down notes on paper... when I try out searching on the web. After trying 2 or 3 websites (that not satisfied me since the first 10 minutes I used), I found out MyHeritage! This was really well made, easy to use, and I liked a lot the graphic design! I liked that I could have control of everything by moving with the mouse or zoom in or zoom out over each person added etc. Also, great support center, they try everything to help you if you can't understand something! I'm very happy and totally satisfied! Thanks!
As a public member I am entitled to use, a family tree which is fantastic, as I can now keep track of all of my tree. The only thing that I cannot understand is why, I can only put on their private site, I only have 250 people. I cannot see private family trees. Which does not worry me, as I love doing the research, it is just a great rush, when you find out information, and it leads you some where else. But the paid members can not see all of my Tree, as it is not online, well guess it is their loss. I am happy with the site, as it assisted me when I was having trouble with a few issues. So public member, or paid they still help you. They are slow on the uptake, but they do get there patience is the word, with whom ever you deal with.
I have been using software by 'Family Tree Maker' and decided to also now tryout MyHeritage as an alternative way of communicating with family tree members. The feature of adding pictures makes the site so much more personal. It didn't take long and I bumped into my limit of 250 individuals even though I restricted entries to direct ancestors, my siblings and their children as well as grandchildren. The site keeps me up to date on various events so that I don't miss important dates. It would be nice if they would increase the limit of individuals before you need to upgrade to the premium version. The online help was also appreciated for their quick response to any question I had.
I had forgotten I had two previous accounts making it so that I was unable to access the current account I wanted to use properly. The support team quickly solved the issues in a friendly and courteous manner. I was very impressed.
I had a problem accessing the site and the team were so helpful. They explained in simple terms how to delete the programme and re-install it without any loss of data - such a relief. They are also friendly and helpful and quick to respond.
Past two years I am gathering family history because I want to write a family chronicle book. MyHeritage's Family Tree Builder is suitable for me and a year ago I upgraded the software to the Premium version. It is a great tool and it provides a lot of good features. Unfortunately, all the features are not always suitable for some regions and I have to use local search engines and data. In some cases I am limited with knowledge of language ( for example Romanian or Hungarian). In Smart Matching process there are huge numbers of matches mostly adjusted for US, Canada or UK. Therefore, I often use other genealogy tools too, read newsletters and so on. In the case I needed an advice of MyHeritage Support's team completely satisfied my needs.
When I had a question and needed assistance with my account, both I received a prompt and personal reply that gave me the information I needed. The customer service person who answered my phone call was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful and quickly and easily solved my problem. The site is very user-friendly, intuitive, and easy to navigate. I was pleased with all aspects of the service for my needs.
My experience with MyHeritage Family Tree Builder since over five years is great. The features I appreciate the most are the chances to publish one's tree on web, to attach plenty of photos to a person's profile and to combine the photos to other person's profiles, too. MyHeritage offers a technical support, which recently solved a problem that according to them was an issue related to an update of Internet Explorer. The support service seems to be very professional, but not very rapid.
If happened an accident to me, I deleted my trees in My Heritage. But I get very quick help and get back my trees. Now my trees are as earlier and I can work with them again.
Answer:My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer:You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings".
Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription".
Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer:If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer:Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Whats the difference between a FAMILY SITE SUBSCRIPTION and a DATA SUBSCRIPTION?
A Family Site Subscription (Premium or PremiumPlus) entitles you to increased storage on your family site for people in the family tree, photos, videos and documents.
A Data Subscription entitles you with the access to billions of historical records in all the collections in SuperSearch. You also get unlimited access to Record Matches, including confirming and rejecting matches, if you have a family tree on MyHeritage.com.
In addition, you can save and extract information from historical records you find in SuperSearch or get with Record Matches directly to your family tree.
Answer:If you have any problem with My Heritage you should email support@myheritage and state that you with to terminate the programme.
They will tell you how to go about it.
Hope that helps
Sandra.

Answer:Hi
After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company.
He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber.
He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days.
Hope this helps.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Dean,
MyHeritage Team.
