My DNA sample never reached the MyHeritage lab. After contacting customer support, I was told that a replacement DNA kit could be sent to me. Since that message, MyHeritage has completely stopped responding. I have sent multiple emails and submitted repeated requests through their official support form, with no reply at all. This level of customer support is unacceptable, especially for a paid service dealing with sensitive personal data. Promising a solution and then ignoring the customer shows a lack of professionalism and accountability. I would not recommend MyHeritage based on this experience. I will update this review if the company finally contacts me and resolves the issue.

Among the worst customer service I have encountered in 70 years. It was designed not to answer but to deflect complaints. I thought I had cancelled my 14-day trial after one day, when I discovered that MyHeritage did not have mainstream UK files. Somehow I failed to cancel. On being charged the annual subscription, I got in touch immediately as I had not used the site after the first day. Eventually someone from Customer Services rang. Their function was to get me to sign up for even more facilities although I made it clear, I wished to cancel the account and be refunded. The agent was so persistent that he told me twice to stop interrupting him when I tried to explain that I did not want more features. In the end I gave up trying to explain. Instead of a proper refund, I was given 25% and several new features which I did not ask for. I assume that I shall be automatically charged for renewing these too.

My experience with MyHeritage is multifaceted, and can be divided into several areas: 1. Customer Support and Error Resolution The assistance provided in resolving errors works exceptionally well and is impressively swift. In this respect, MyHeritage offers a highly reliable and professional service. 2. Desktop Application The desktop program installed on the computer is, however, rather user-unfriendly and somewhat cumbersome. It feels awkward both for quick reviews and for more in-depth work, lacking the fluidity and responsiveness one would expect from a modern genealogical tool. 3. Web Version The web interface is, in certain respects, more intuitive and generally more pleasant to use. Nevertheless, several important features are missing. For instance: In an era where objects can be moved freely with a mouse, the absence of drag-and-drop functionality feels notably outdated. * Tree navigation is limited; I miss the ability to select an entire branch and view or manipulate the full "chain" with ease. * Searching for individuals — even when entering the full name — remains overly broad and insufficiently precise. * Uploading PDF files or images, processing them, and linking them to individuals is unnecessarily demanding and not particularly user-friendly. * The frequent promotion of *paid* matches and features interrupts the workflow and feels somewhat intrusive. These are perhaps some of the more critical aspects that would merit revision and improvement. Overall Assessment Taken as a whole, both the desktop and web versions are reasonably effective and serve their purpose for complex genealogical work. With a few thoughtful enhancements, however, the user experience could become significantly more refined and contemporary.

My experience with MyHeritage has been both productive and genuinely enjoyable. As someone deeply engaged in family history research, I've found the platform intuitive and rich in international records, helping me make meaningful discoveries across borders. The Smart Matches and record suggestions have saved me hours of work. I've also been very impressed with their customer support: responsive, helpful, and reassuring whenever I've had queries. It's a service that clearly understands and supports the needs of its subscribers, whether beginners or more experienced researchers.

I am incredibly grateful to Dorcas from the MyHeritage support team. I encountered several technical issues with our DNA tests, including a very stressful situation where my 91-year-old grandmother's test was unfortunately lost at the lab. Dorcas stepped in and resolved the issue efficiently, which was a huge relief. Beyond just fixing the problems, she was exceptionally attentive and human in her approach, offering support that went above and beyond. She even suggested additional opportunities that helped me research our family history more effectively. Her professional yet compassionate handling of our situation made a world of difference during a difficult time (we live in a war zone unfortunately). I highly recommend her to anyone needing assistance—she is truly an outstanding representative of the team!

I find it very easy to navigate the website and add info. It gets a bit overwhelming at times with emails every day with more relatives. I'd rather not have so much detail.

Nov 24, 2025

Have been a user of My Heritage for 6-7 years. Received call from my Account Manager about new heritage companies they have bought. One was Family Tree Legacy which links into current tree etc. however, software is not apple compliant. To use it one has to do very convoluted process - beyond my expertise and patience. Tried getting a refund but so many hurdles!

Nov 13, 2025

When locked out because of mistake in changing password, all help offered required me to be able to get on the site - which being "locked out' meant I could not follow any directions. Being creative, I began to leave desperate notes on any sites listed that I could access using my account # and personal information. About the time, I decided to let it be and go back to a prior company, someone responded to my email and the actual problem was fixed in 2 days. It was a simple fix. I worked with two of your employees and they were both professional, friendly and quickly resolved issue. I noticed while searching the internet for help, others using My Heritage were having similar problems. This was the second year that the required by you change of passwords caused me issues, unnecessarily. Hope it's the last.

I have found more family records and actually made contact with relatives i had never met in person from the other side of the world through MyHeritage, it's been a blast!

May 28, 2026

The MyHeritage system I've been using more then 5 years. It's complex and sophisticate system for serious work over family history. There're some problems, but very specific, for example marriage between not close relatives - cousin and nephew etc. You must be very careful to accept matches especially, when you have a lot of relatives in you base.

You can work with MH by just copying information posted by other MH members. MH provides an excellent, quick way to add info to your own family tree. But be warned MH does nor guarantee this info is correct. For example, I found a grandfather right back to 1200 who was "born in America". Tell that to Christopher Columbus! He thought he was the first to land there in 1492. Another tip is to check for typing mistakes in dates, where you may have given a child a date of birth long after his/her mother died. MH has a good consistency checker which you should use regularly. There is a really good Service desk which answers questions very quickly and thoroughly. To sum up. Look at joining MH as a hobby. Use AI, Wikipedia, museum records, etc to investigate. MH will regularly send you mails with details of other members with the same ancestors. Again check the info sent, as it might put you on the track of some ancestor you didn't know about but first CHECK. MH offers he opportunity to contact members who have the same ancestors in common. I thought this was an interesting feature, especially if the member lived thousands of kilometers from where the family originally started. My experience however is that very few I have contacted reply. BUT MH gives you the info you need to try to contact them. I have been researching my family for nearly 2 years, and have built up a library of bibliographies for my grandchildren. The stories I have discovered about my ancestors are fascinating. If you have just retired and are looking for a hobby which keeps your brain active I can certainly recommend joining My Heritage.

I am very satisfied with MyHeritage. The program has greatly helped me with my family history research, and I have been able to discover many important details about my ancestors. Working with the family tree is easy and clear, and the search tools for historical records are very powerful. I also appreciate the excellent customer support. Since I do not speak English, I was worried about communicating, especially by phone, but the support agent was extremely patient, kind, and understanding. She explained everything slowly and clearly, which allowed me to resolve my issue without any problems. Overall, MyHeritage is a reliable and very helpful tool for anyone interested in genealogy, and I highly recommend it.

I've been looking for my great grandfather's family for 40 years. Finally found them on My Heritage and can go back 6 generations so far! I started out as a free trial and then signed up.

Nov 12, 2025

I try to respond quickly to all Smart Matches but have recently been overwhelmed by very large bundles of matches. In recent cases more than 900 Sm Matches were dumped on my site. I cannot properly review such large demands and am slowly working thru them

Nov 12, 2025

MyHeritage provides multiple names in multiple locations to choose from. All do not fit my family tree, however, on occasion, it is suggestive of locations that maybe worth researching.

Nov 12, 2025

Have been a member for almost eight years & it's been fascinating, finding where my ancestors were from & making connections with two half sisters plus numerous distant cousins

May 27, 2026

I really enjoy MyHeritage - learning about my family history. It's been fascinating and enlightening to see the tree grow and to wonder how my ancestors lives must have been. Losing loved ones fairly young, I missed the opportunity to ask many questions about our history and this is a way to discover more. I like the set up and am still learning to navigate some of it. I'm thankful the friendly staff rang near renewal and made it possible for me to continue, it can be a little pricey, but is a great experience and hopefully will help other generations! Thank you.

Aug 19, 2025

As above a very addictive experience, once you start and delve into your family's past l found it very hard to put it down. Can be frustrating at times trying to trace a relative but the My Heritage Team have been a godsend giving me guidance with matches etc. Great experience, love the research.

May 27, 2026

I have had an excellent experience with MyHeritage since 2019. The website is very intuitive and the customer support is very friendly yet professional. Highly recommended if you are interested in research your family history!

Dec 11, 2025

MyHeritage is a really good tool for exploring your ancestry. However it can be a little har to navigate and understand where to find all the amazing tools.

Sep 3, 2025

I have been researching on and off, depending on my commitments. Like most people, the walls, rabbit holes, and head scratching became normal. When I first joined My Heritage, I found it to be a quietly remarkable companion. The site guided me with ease through records and connections I never thought I would uncover. Its intuitive layout and gentle prompts made the experience feel less like data gathering and more like storytelling. In my own experience, MyHeritage offers not just information, but a sense of belonging and a fresh beginning through time worn eyes. I have found that My Heritage nudges you along and allows you to wander at your own pace. I've unearthed connections and stories that have made me smile, pause, and even raise an eyebrow. To sum it up, I have found My Heritage to be a quietly profound experience.

Aug 19, 2025

I have been using MyHeritage for many years now and have been very satisfied with most of its features and capabilities, especially its access to data bases that help you build your family tree. As features are refined and added, I'm hoping they will add the ability to access "biography" via their smart phone ap. I've used this cell a great deal to enhance the details of many relatives, and it would be great o be able to access this information when "on the go". Other than that missing feature, MyHeritage is great!

May 27, 2026

Meir listened to the issues of my complaint and provided an amicable solution for me. I'm therefore very satisfied with the call. I am more likely, as a result, to continue my membership. It's sad, however, that MyHeritage as a company appears more interested in protecting and increasing revenues than anything else.

Nov 12, 2025

I'm enjoying using MyHeritage and building my tree faster than I was using other sites. There are a few things I am still learning about, such as making mistakes and how to rectify them

Aug 25, 2025

I am quite literally blown away with this unique service. The step by step instructions were easy to follow. Post your package and then wait. The results were unexpected and it ended the family myth of our ancestors came from a shipwrecked Spanish galleon

Nov 12, 2025

Since last on site, approx 2 yrs ago, there seems to have been quite a few changes. The one I find most annoying is that I can only print a list up to 5 generations, and this list starts printing a third of the way down the paper, chops someone off at the bottom. If I am wrong about this, please advise. Previously I could go to the profile of an ancestor, even a few hundred years back, and it would print all, across the top of the page.

Aug 19, 2025

From 2015 on I used this tool to make my family-tree grow into a huge one that goes at one point back to 23 generations where a Swiss branch has members in and around Zurich and its lake. I have been able to ad well over 10.000 persons to my tree, who played all a part in history. One elaborate, the other modest. And through My Heritage I even found long lost family back and made contact.

To keep in touch and find new members of the family, My Heritage is a really great tool, brilliant. I have been able to find out information about family's past and present and has allowed me to build a tree that can passed on for future prosperity.

May 27, 2026

From a start more than 10 years ago to some 1,500 hundred people in our tree, I have found My Heritage easy to use, with incredible add-ons and research capabilities. Communication from the company is good and, although I have only used their customer service once, the issue was dealt with fast and well.

Aug 20, 2025

First a few hiccups but we straightened it out. I found my grandfathers information on my fathers side and no one else could find it! To me that was excellent and outstanding work

Aug 19, 2025

Been a user for about 5 months. Easy to find info up until 1775, then the tree becomes a challenge to continue…names are sometimes different (Poland esp). And death dates are blank. Matching is a nice feature as the tree gets populated an email tells you to check their matches!

Nov 16, 2025

If you want to spend all your spare time studying history and bloodlines, then this is the site for you. I have become totally addicted to piecing together my ancestry now. There is a wonderful bonus to this study for me. I get to know my ancestors lives and the times they were in. My Heritage is improving over time. So is their information gathering. One day I am hoping they will invent a duplicate ancestor aspect for lines that hold the same families.

Aug 25, 2025

I started off with a little bit of knowledge about two great grandparents on both sides. With the help of MyHeritage and access to other genealogy sites I have more than 1200 direct ancestors. What a revealing and exiting road this is.

Aug 20, 2025

I am so very pleased to have found MyHeritage! It is helping me immensely in terms of connecting not only with my ancestors, but others within my family line alive today! Thank you MyHeritage for all that you do for so many!

Nov 14, 2025

I have been doing genealogical research since 1986 and never looked back. Although I only do this as a hobby, I love finding new information if and when it pops up. My parents where immigrants from Holland to South Africa and I was born here. The history of my 4 grandparents is an absolute joy. My husband's family all have European roots and finding information is a task I love. With My heritage everything is kept save and available.

Jan 27, 2026

Myheritage review SCAMMERS! BEWARE! DON'T USE! They start your "free trial" as soon as you purchase the kit, but you can't make use of the free trial/website subscription until your sample is ready! For some reason it takes 2 weeks for you to receive the kit; then you'd think it would take 1-3 days for them to receive it from you via Royal Mail (that's if you took your DNA sample right away), but I sent my kit on 7 days ago on 20/01/26, yet today is 27/01/26 and on their website it says they haven't received it yet?! (unless it's been lost, but this is besides the point); then according to them, it takes them several weeks until your results are ready! But after your "free trial", you're automatically charged £114! So the trial is a lie/nonsense that you can't even use before your results are ready. And you get charged without even having received a service yet! SCAM. Shame on them!

Aug 19, 2025

Website provides errors, or hints or possible people who should be in your family tree. It is a great website for research so family history can be taken back prior to the USA becoming its own country.

Jun 16, 2026

The emails giving details of matches are welcome, but cover a lot of information that needs to be checked and can be overwhelming at times. Checking things out can take hours and not be completed, which leads me to need to back-track. Its not always easy to remember what has been added to the family tree, although an email is sent summarising the changes.

Nov 12, 2025

The customer representative began by thanking me for my nine years of membership with My Heritage. He then discussed the new plans offered, and together we determined what best met my needs.

Jun 6, 2026

It's helped me find hundreds of new ancestors. It also made me laugh when MyHeritage found a pedigree associated with my father. Amusingly, it was his collie's pedigree, with a link to the American Kennel Club! I and my genealogy friends thought we'd die laughing!

Nov 24, 2025

I've been researching some of my Grandfathers brothers & sisters lately from my mother's side. Had some luck finding some new relatives that I didn't know I had. The record search have been a great help so far. Not finished yet but will keep trying.

Nov 13, 2025

Overall my experience with MyHeritage has been mixed. For someone starting to trace their family back in time, it is a very good resource to develop a family tree, even if you are a newcomer to this journey. As time goes on and the family relationship discoveries become obscure, it is hard to justify paying for a premium membership especially in these times when the price of living continues to rise.

Nov 12, 2025

The Myheritage site now requires advanced software so I can no longer use it on my old computer. I am left with no alternative other than to use it on my mobile phone, but here it lacks functions, for example photo editing and the ability to connect and disconnect family members from parents etc. Reviewing smart watches is also harder on a phone so I don't do it as much anymore.

Aug 20, 2025

MyHeritage is very helpful both in finding living relatives, and ancestors who have passed on. The Smart Matches make it easy to locate people in my own tree who are similar, if not exact, matches for those in another person's tree.

May 27, 2026

I do not like you method of matching. Smart matches are not smart. You require me to accept a match with some random person's site I know nothing about with out being able to see whether or not they have any sourcing for their claims. I don't want people randomly added to my tree without knowing where the information came from and if there is any sourcing, or it was simply copied from another random person's tree. That to me is not serious genealogy. I do not consider MyHeritage trees an actual source. I do get some good hints that I will check out on other sites, but I find it very hard to add, correct or use MyHeritage. That may be because I do not often use it, so am unfamiliar with how it is set up. But the reason I don't use it goes back to my original complaint listed above. I do love Theory of Family Relativity and have used that a lot. Matching newspaper articles is very frustrating as the entire page must be saved. I don't understand why you don't have a method for saving the pertinent article. It is often extremely hard to find that article in a full page of print, when you do not highlight it. Seems to me that would be an easy fix. Ancestry has it.

Jun 6, 2026

I was very disappointed to find trees without sources. We all know how unreliable how word of mouth or guessing can be so I'm not sure I will get any value out of this site. I did decide to give it the full year to continue testing it.

Nov 12, 2025

Thanks to MyHeritage, I have discovered my ancestors going back seven generations. I have met my living relatives and am now in contact with them. Advice for beginners. Information from MyHeritage needs to be supplemented with searches in the Archives. Fortunately, despite the destruction caused by wars, many records have been preserved in Europe, allowing you to learn about your ancestors' history in considerable detail.

Aug 20, 2025

MyHeritage is an very good product but that does not necessarily mean results will be obtained. Users don't always respond to queries about reported matches. Almost all the matches reported to me are not sufficiently close.

Nov 13, 2025

It is easy to use. Coming from a Huge Family is a tad overwhelming, but exciting at the same time. Linking us to relatives on other Continents is mind blowing. We all came from everyone that was on Noah's Ark. Genesis 6 for reference.

Getting My Hefritage Open
October 13, 2015

I contacted customer support because I was having trouble getting into the program. I had been a My Heritage member several years ago and recently returned. I am not real computer literate and had sent an email for help advising that. I received a phone call from Shiman and he walked me through the process to get the site open and working. He was on the phone with me for over 30 minutes and was very helpful. He was calm and went through things step by step and was very calm and did not get upset that he was dealing with someone that was not well versed in computer knowledge and language. I could not ask for more.

My Heritage ignore all emails
October 13, 2015

I have been trying to get a refund as per the 30 day refund period in the service terms and have sent 7 emails to date. Not one of these emails has been answered and I am quite frankly horrified at such appalling customer service. The premium plus subscription is very expensive and when searching for census records I was asked to cough up a further £6:25 per month!

Personal help
October 13, 2015

Thanks to Naom for a very clear and concise help note for my query. I was being bombarded with Smart Matches from Family tree such as my great grandfathers sister's great aunt, etc.
I was able to solve that problem by gong to| 1. Log in to your family site.
2. Move your mouse cursor over ‘Discoveries' tab and select ‘Smart Matches'.
3. Sort your matches by people, select the person, and click on ‘View matches'.

4. You will reach the ‘Consensus page' for all of the matches for that individual. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the list of individual matches.
Click ‘Ignore this person'.
5. Clicking on it will bring up the following window. Click ‘Ignore matches' to confirm.

Thank you Noam. Problem solved!

Privacy

Were you aware that MyHeritage takes info from Private Trees and offers it to other tree owners on the site?
MyHeritage have what they call their Discovery Hub, this is where they offer your private info. Does MyHeritage own my tree or do I? I am told if I do not want private info taken in secret from my tree I cannot have the Smart Match facility (by which I have a choice with who I share).
Apart from this abuse of privacy I have enjoyed the site but I am now paying a premium subscription (£152.64)which has almost another year to run just to keep my tree there. Unlike it's rival this doesn't include any access to records (census/. Bmd etc). This access would cost almost another £100.

Dear Polly,

Thank you for your review here on SiteJabber.

Your family tree is owned by you and is your responsibility as a MyHeritage user. Along with this so are all of the privacy settings that you have at your disposal.

If your data is included in SuperSearch it is automatically protected by settings that keep sensitive information private. You can feel confident that your data is secure, while enjoying the benefits of being a part of SuperSearch, such as Record Matching.

First names, birth dates and other important information about living individuals from the family tree are always hidden, even when viewing records with a full access subscription.

You can always privatize your data in the ‘My Privacy’ menu:

1. Click on your name in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
2. Select ‘My Privacy’.
3. In ‘My Privacy’ page click on ‘Content’ on the left side of the screen.
4. Change the setting called ‘Include family tree in MyHeritage historical search engines (recommended)’ and review check boxes next to the photo albums in the end of that page.
If the setting ‘Include family tree in MyHeritage historical search engines (recommended)’ is enabled, the individuals in your family tree who are marked as deceased will be searchable and viewable in MyHeritage SuperSearch and the other genealogical websites in the ‘MyHeritage Website’ Group.

This allows users who are looking for ancestors to find your data and consequently to find you. The details of living people cannot be searched or viewed except for last names only.

Keep this setting enabled if you believe that your family tree may be valuable for other genealogy researchers. Turn it off if you do not want others to find and view any part of your family tree, including deceased people.

If you do not want your photos to be included in Super Search, remove the check boxes next to the photo albums.
An Instant Discovery™ is a "package" of family history information that you can apply to your family tree just in one click.

Every Instant Discovery™ is based on a match found by our Smart Matching™ technology in other family trees on MyHeritage, and we filter out incorrect matches automatically.

If an individual in your family tree connects to a branch in another family tree, you'll be alerted about this and can then choose to add everyone in that branch to your tree, who is not already there (up to 40-50 people), rather than manually add people one by one, and amend the data piece by piece.

Instant Discoveries™ complement Smart Matches™ in how the information is applied to the user's tree. With Smart Matches™, information is added to the tree one fact at a time, one person at a time, manually. With Instant Discoveries™ an entire branch can be copied in a single click, along with all facts, events and photos, and source citations are automatically created in the target tree to document exactly where the data came from.
To protect the privacy of other users, Instant Discoveries™ never bring information on living people.
A Premium site subscription gives you the following benefits:
* 2500 individuals to grow your family tree.
* 1000 MB storage for family photos, videos, and documents.
* Priority email support to get answers quickly.

The Super Search is made up of many "Collections". There are four MyHeritage collections. These are comprised of data from MyHeritage and are not available anywhere else on the internet. The four MyHeritage collections are:

1. MyHeritage family sites
2. MyHeritage members
3. MyHeritage family tree individuals
4. MyHeritage photos

Collections 1 & 2 are available to MyHeritage members with a Premium family site subscription.
Collections 1, 2, 3 & 4 are available to MyHeritage members with a Premium Plus family site subscription.

A Data subscription gives you full access to our Super Search genealogy search engine which contains millions of records from thousands collections. With this Data subscription you will be able to use not only the SuperSearch but, the Record matches, the Record Detective. We are constantly adding new data to SuperSearch, with at least one million historical records plus one million family tree profiles added each day. This means that even if you don’t find what you’re looking for on SuperSearch, chances are we’ll have it for you very soon.

These two subscriptions can be purchased and used either separately or together. With both products you can enjoy the full research package that MyHeritage offers - enabling you to build, manage and share your family tree in addition to doing historical research and finding documents related to your family.

If you would like to access all the collections on the Super Search, you would need a separate Data subscription.

For more information about privacy settings, Instant Discoveries or subscriptions you may log into your online family site and scroll to the bottom of your page and click on the "Help" option under Support. Here you will find not only the above mentioned you will also find a wide range of topics covered in our FAQ section.

Kind Regards,
Dean,

Instuctions sent to re-loan MyHeritage was done quickly and the process to uninstall and re-install was seemless. And doing this did not impact my data. Love it!

Before deciding on an ancestry software, I checked, what I thought was all of them. I found out after I selected My Heritage as my software of choice, that I did choose the right one! Boy was I fortunate enough to have selected the right one.
This was so easy to begin with. The more I added family members, the more I enjoyed what My Heritage has to offer. I did not have to pay for it - which was a bonus. I selected to go above and beyond my searches, and after a while, decided to purchase the Premium package. Now, I have access to so many more tools to find my family members. I love how I can print charts and books. I have printed out books for specific family members, mailed it to them, and asked them for their input. I am surprised at how quickly they answered, as they too want to know more. I love that I can put in the pictures of my ancestors and know that everyone else can also view their faces. It is comforting to know that when I am gone, my grandchildren's children will be able to find me easier, and follow the path to my ancestors. What a great tool! Thank you My Heritage for offering such a unique and handy access to my peers!

Awesome Customer Service
October 1, 2015

I started my site a few years ago and all the customer service agents have been helping from day one. It's a fantastic website that has connected me to many family members that I would not have found on my own.

Bad experience!
September 27, 2015

Dreadful Experience of this Organisation!

Sept 2015
I am getting the run around from the support team at MyHheritage. I upgraded my subscription to 'Premium Plus' which was advertised as a monthly fee but paid annually! After using it, with difficulty for a few days, I realized that there is very little Irish data available! Since my ancesters were Irish, I decided to ask to have my account and subscription cancelled and money credited to my credit card.

After a number of emails with the support team, dealing with issues I was having and finally asking to have my account closed, I received an email this morning, indicating that they cannot delete my account since I have an active subscription. Even though I asked to have my subscription cancelled! Where is the customer service?

I feel, at this stage that I have been scammed and my money is gone!

I found a contact phone number and they agreed to cancel my account and they have provided me with a full refund!

Go to Ancestry!

I cannot even make it through my trial, this website is so poor. First you pay a monthly fee just to store your family tree and info, then there are additional charges to search for records. What a ripoff. The directions for dropping my trial subscription are impossibly small and two hours of trying have gotten me no closer to getting rid of this scam.

Merci

I like MyHeritage because it is free, easy to use, and collects all my family data in one place. It has only taken a couple weeks to build my family tree and now all my members can help add pictures, dates, and edit any errors.

I would highly recommend this program to everyone who is interested in tracing their roots and keeping tract of their decendants.

Super help and patience from Shimon
August 24, 2015

I am new to My Heritage and made an error entering data so that I was unable to enter other data. Shimon could not have been more help. He was patient and caring and it was a pleasure speaking with him. He also solved my problems. Then he called me back to let me know exactly how I could access both branches. I would have panicked if I had seen all I entered missing, which it is not. Thank you so much for such wonderful service. Beyond my expectations and makes me glad I chose My Heritage. Karen Karlsen

Overall this is a very powerful tool for visualising one's family history. Smart matches from other people's trees constantly lead to more details and interesting new branches. This is a complex suite of programs including many options, such as adding photos, biographical facts, but also tools for checking the validity of the data.
On the negative side, I find the navigation inconsistent and far too complicated. The totally different views available through local apps and the website add to the difficulty in finding one's way around. Also, correcting errors, such as merging inadvertent duplicates, is not easy.
