HORRIBLE BUSINESS!
This unprofessional shop can't even do a oil change or tire rotation without problems:
They overfilled my oil.
They made me come back four times to try and fit me in for the tire rotation, but everytime they had excuses such as were too busy, my tech is out sick, ect. I finally got my $10 back for the tire rotation that they failed at. Do yourself a favor, avoid Meineke and support your local mechanic. All Meineke cares about is taking your money.
I paid $1000 for work on my car. And then to find out that they charge an extra fee for shop supplies. This is something they dont even tell you before they start working on your car. They are basically charging you for their tools to use on your car. Also on their website it says you get $50 off when you spend 500 or more. No where on my bill did it say they took $50 off. When I asked the guy said he took it off from a part from my car. But it didnt show on the paper and when I questioned it he just said he took it from the part already.
I went to the Jones town office to get my oil change, and I specifically asked that all liquid be checked and topped up and i was assured it would be topped up. But when I got home, I checked my liquids and I noticed to top ups were made... Now I'm even scared if the oil change was done... Now I have to go to another Place to redo the oil change...
I brought my car into the Carrollton Texas location to have an oil change and tune-up. When I called to see if my car had been finished the price quoted was $300 more than I was originally told. When I came to pick up my car the manager Mike, said that he did a few extra things. I asked why was it $300 more? He apologized and said he would not charge me for any extra work that was done without my consent. He said that he was busy and did not have time to call. Maybe I'm wrong but isn't that called customer service? The work that was performed was done well and seem to be to my satisfaction. After a week I decided to pop the hood on my car and check the fluid levels. I had discovered that the engine cover and the nuts that hold it down or completely gone. I'm not really sure how a certified professional mechanic could not see that the engine cover was missing when he closed the hood. Now it is up to me to return to the garage so they can replace it. I would imagine that my time is worth nothing and then possibly I am too busy?
Great local service. The Meineke car care center in Loveland a long Montgomery Road is managed by a fellow named Dave, who goes the extra mile. He is knowledgeable, a great diagnostician, and very accommodating. He drove me home and picked me up after finding some very dangerous situations when I went in just for oil And an annoying rattle coming from the engine. He has always been great and understanding and knowledgeable. My wife and I have continued to use him for years. Use him for years, And will continue to do so.
About a month ago my truck needed a tune up. I took it to Meineke and they replaced the spark plugs. The mechanic also said my valve cover gaskets needed replacement. I told them to do the job, about two days later on a sunday my truck started skipping bad and the check engine light came on. I pulled over and called a tow truck.my truck was towed to the Toyota dealer. They ran a diagnostic test and said Meineke had put the wrong spark plugs in my truck. Also they only replaced one valve cover instead of two. Meineke also did not put the (0 rings) in the gasket, which made the gasket leak oil. Toyota had to replace everything Meineke did not fix. It cost me over $1000. 00 dollars to fix my truck. I contacted Meineke about the problem and asked to refund my money, plus the cost to fix my truck. Have not heard a (damn thing from them). Stay the hell away from them.
My car would not start so I had it towed in. They had it for 3 days and never called me. I finally went in to pick it up and they said that it was starting, running and ready to go. It died on the way home and won't start. I paid $390 to have a car that won't start after they worked on it for 3 days.
I travel the USA for work and the few times I needed help they got to my car ASAP, fixed it in a timely manner and were totally honest about the repairs that needed to be done on my car. No guess work or extra charges, Straight foreword and the price has been with in reasonable rates thank you for your help. Meighan.
Meineke Car Care Center needs to be shut down. I took my car in for an oil change and left with over $900 worth of parts and labor. My car wasn't driving bad at all before I got there. They talked me into replacing an axle on my front end and buy a set of 4 tires which actually had plenty of tread. They told me my axle was bad and my tires had cracking between the ample amount of treads. The day after having all this work done my car acted like it drove worse than it ever has since I owned it. 2 days later I KNEW something wasn't right but now it was Sunday. I called the shop first thing Monday morning and got my car to the shop. I wondered if it would make it safely and called the shop to see if it should be towed in. Salesman said don't worry about it and bring it in. We found the lug nuts weren't tightened when they put the new set of tires on. I hadn't even gave authorization to put the tires on, but had discussed perhaps getting new tires for the car. After the salesman promised I could get a $100 rebate after mailing in a form and receipt of the parts and labor I bought, over $900 I never received my rebate. I have called the rebate company, Synchrony Car Care to no avail. Their phone system doesn't allow you to talk to people. Leave messages to no avail. Stay away from Meineke and their promise of any rebates for spending money with them. Bait and switch at it's greatest. My car nearly suffered catastrophic damage and possible damage or death.
Meineke lets me get my own parts (read: much cheaper without the big markup) and they'll install it for me. Yet, I think that their labor rates now are just unreasonably high. I used them for about 10 yrs up until a yr ago. I found another mechanic who does equal quality work and charges much less than I had to pay meineke.
I took my car for an oil change and afterwards began to smell oil burn and the following day i went to pull out of my driveway when I saw oil splashed everywhere! Took it back up, they apologized and I was stupid enough to take it back! Had another oil change and was suppose to get the premium, they didnt even honor my free oil change that was given from their prior mess up and they didnt even rotate my tires or give me a new air filter which I payed additional for...$ 108.00 down the drain! NEVER GO TO MEINEKE!
After going in for a brake system, I get a call couple of days later that not only did I need a brake system but I needed a new engine! My car was test driven by the manager and never did he report anything regarding my truck overheating. Never did I see any signs of needing a new engine. They are bunch of crooks! I contacted corporate with my complaint and they are useless. They claim they run a business on Christian values, yes that is true they value taking money from customers.
Took my car to a local center for repair. Charged for OEM parts, instead after market parts where used. Disk rotors wore out in 6 months caused severe damage to other brake parts.
