You should check this first and you will see how much you are so lucky choose this company but final call is yours.
Here is full story about my purchasing story.
First of all, I am a Korean so English is not my first tongue. Therefore, there are some grammar and spelling mistake.
My budget is around $2000. 00 so I checked many stores and internet. It is so hard to decide and finally i decide to buy 1 12.9" new ipad pro and around $500 laptop.
But you already know $500 laptop is not good enough for your job even for students.
Not good enough screen resolution, CPU etc.
If you are going to pay around $1000 it is OK but half price... you have to choose this company.
But i had same worry about this selling product as many of my friends said that kind products are not good condition and that will easily break that can cause make me dumb.
But after read all reviews i deiced to buy because i can see 2 bad reviews use same sentences but different name.
Furthermore, all kelly's response are all reasonable.

Its very unlikely for you to ever have any backlight issue. I dont think weve ever had such an issue in any of the HP Envy series ever!
It would have been mostly powered.
Battery is not technically a warranty item given consumable but if its no good on arrival, we replace. We dont ever have anyone say this with our Envy 17 series though.
Delivery is on special for just $4 at the moment, so it's a great time to buy.

We dont have either sorry Tommy. It is rare for someone to be unhappy and I dont think weve ever had anyone unhappy with an Envy 17. When someone is unhappy with other model the manager often lets them switch models with a restocking fee to cover costs, but I cant gaurentee this. I would be surprised if you werent happy with it though.

The laptop youre looking at takes 1x HDD only.

Yes it is possible. Have a look on youtube for HP ENVY 15-j RAM and HP ENVY 15-j SSD and you should get a tutorial on each.
We mostly use SanDisk for SSD. Recently we use Kogan SSD and have found them to be fine, but we havent really been using them long enough to say.
I dont know the RAM configuration so I recommend holding off until you receive it for that. It could be 2x2GB or 1x4GB. Most likely the latter. If thats the case, try to get a similar spec chip to match.
I recommend putting the existing HDD in a USB Enclosure for additional storage space.

It doesnt apply to all models in this series so Im not sure if it does with this one.
In any case, I do not recommend getting MSATA SSD. These chips seem very unreliable in comparison perhaps no better than a standard HDD in reliability. Much better to get a full size standard SSD which are extremely reliable.

It has little scratches and dent but I do not care about those things.
Main problem is fan noise it is very annoying that sound like micro wave sound.

A month is a while though and if you could please try to make it just a week or two for your consideration that would be best. I say this as otherwise it will only fall under warranty which is fine if thats what you want to just get back rectified whenever you send in.
See how you go, more than happy to look at it if you like and shipping cost will be covered in both directions.
Any standard sized SSD will suit the laptop. We usually use SanDisk brand.
SSD make an amazing difference to speed and reliability. SSD make a laptop boot in a flash so I think you will love that. You can then put the existing Hard Drive in a USB Enclosure for additional storage space.
If you search YouTube for HP ENVY 15-j SSD you should get a tutorial on how to upgrade to SSD. If stuck or you have any questions about that, please feel welcome to ask me, Im more than happy to help.

As you can see do not worry, whatever, if you could get not good products or damaged one this company refund that immediately.!
After using this, 2 weeks time. My son has fixed fan noise, he changed some of function keys and no more noise.
And all my friends who already advised to me do not buy laptop from internet asked this company name.
I am a chef i am using this laptop only paper work and watching youtube that is very good enough spec for my job.
Ps: just 1 not good thing, some of picture is not correct with real one.
I didn't know that so many different models has same series.
Kelly said no finger scan and picture said silver key board but real one has finger scan black keyboard.
Worst customer service ever.
