I ended up paying about many thousands of dollars more than I should have due to TurboTax software errors which were documented online. In summary, TurboTax did not correctly allocate income earned in NY State to NY State income tax and I ended up paying NJ income tax on it as well. TurboTax refused to take ownership for the errors and NJ Division of Taxation told me this money is lost since I passed the statute of limitations.
