I came across H. Preston on line. There prices are fantastic but I thought I would do some research I Found a few bad reviews but after reading between the lines I think most of the are not correct
I placed my order for a Sony FX9 kit which was £16k plus
The delivery was about 7 days but I got every thing I ordered and I also had fantastic service and back up on setting it all up thanks
I would always recommend may be visiting there store (which I did not do) as there expertise is fantastic thanks

I'm currently in the middle of what I feel is a criminal matter with these guys which I will have no hesitation in referring to the authorities if not sorted this week. I ordered (and paid in full for) a Sony FX3 back in December 2021. Come August 2022 they still weren't in stock at H Preston (no specific issue with that as I appreciate there is a world microchip shortage). I managed to cancel my order with them (being told I would obviously receive a full refund for the none delivered goods), then purchased the camera elsewhere. Now of the £3999, 97 that I paid H Preston (for the none delivered camera & 2 spare batteries), for some strange reason after around 6 weeks of sending them emails & leaving voicemails to chase the refund, and them telling me they allegedly already issued a full refund to my card (absolutely no trace found by my bank & H Preston unable/unwilling to confirm the ARN Acquirer Reference Number to prove a refund transaction even occurred), they have refunded me only £500 via bank transfer (I obviously was expecting the full refund when I supplied my bank details to them). They point blank refuse to have a verbal conversation with me over the telephone to explain why they are withholding £3,499.97 of my money which is tantamount to theft.

Even zero stars would be too good a review for these guys.

I purchased a Sony FX9 and I just love it Delivery was a little longer than normal due to delays at customs and the virus
I had a few problems setting it up but one phone call with Andy every thing was resolved
I would always go back to H. Preston media They seem to have great prices and fantastic back up un like some dealers who just want your money

Fantastic Service Placed a order for a Sony FX9 was promised delivery would be 7 days it arrived in 5 days best price i could find and fantastic phone back up as I had a few problems setting it up but Andy helped me animi now filming Happy

I placed a order which was going to take about 14 days to arrive due to the world wide delays at the moment
I could live with this My order arrived with in 7 days and its great Im so happy I had to get soem back up and help and Andy was great on the phone and helped me get it all set up how i wantted it thanks guys

I was looking for a 4k resolution camera with three concurrent outputs (screen hdmi and recording all at the same time in 4k). None of my Sony cameras will do this. H Prestons' Andy very diligently put a lot of time into testing a potential solution for me. I didn't actually buy the camera he tested because the BMD 4k studio camera pro had just been announced. Despite the very long lead times BMD stock often has hitting our shores, I got a message from John Preston saying that my camera would be in stock the next day. It was, they sent it straight away and I'm more than delighted with the camera and also by H Prestons excellent customer service. They truly went the extra mile for me and probably invested many hours to make sure I got the very best. All I can say is that they will be my first port of call for equipment and they should be yours too!

We ordered a brand new Sony FX6 and they were only dealer who got one for me fast and great back up

Avoid at all costs. I would give minus stars if I could.

They will sell you something that is out of stock as if it were in stock. Then they will lie to you about how fast your item is going to be shipped. Then they will completely ignore you when you ask to cancel your order (twice).

The cancellation process is not automated and my emails asking them to cancel were completely ignored.

My order was shipped 5 weeks after I placed it and now I have no use for the item because it was so late. I am not even going to bother communicating more with this "company" to try and get my refund because it's just not worth my time.

Disgusting service.

Very untrustworthy- do not go near this guy.

He was selling a second hand lens, it took him 3 months of not answering emails or phone calls before I finally got a refund and would not explain why it hadn't been sent. It turns out he never had the lens in the first place. He told me he was waiting for stock... on a second hand lens? This doesn't make any sense.

Awful communication and a waste of time. So many reviews saying the exact same thing. Completely unreliable ‘business'

I ordered a Blackmagic 4k pocket camera in December 2019 from H Preston order handled by John Preston, money was deposited into his account for the payment upon a promise of delivery in a few days. Till to date no camera, no correspondence, no refund. This is a fraud company. You will be scammed if you are to order from them especially if itis being handled by John. My advice to avoid disappointment do not order from this company
