Stems Galore!
I was excited to have access to Mexican Oregano and read the more recent reviews, some positive, but many, sharing that their order was filled with way too many dried stems. I decided to order 1/4 lb to see for myself. The negative reviews were TRUE & now, I’m adding my own. I opened my bag to decant to a separate container and quickly saw doing so would take way more time than I had ahead of making dinner. I’ve attached pics of the pile after pulling out the dried stems to get maybe 2 tbs? What a pain! I haven’t gone back to sifting through the bag and may not and purchase another non-bulk brand.
I love Monterey Herb Co. Placing another order today, but I found this item to be way below the quality product I’ve received over the last 1.5 years. I hope Customer Service sees this review, and others, and improve this product.
Very disappointed
We purchase a great amount of different products from Monterey Bay and have been very happy with our purchases over the past 10 years. I purchased a large quantity of oregano c/s recently and was very disappointed in the quality. Product was listed as cut & sifted but the pieces are very large, so large that I have to manually grind them in order to use them in our spice blends. This wouldn't be a huge issue, except for the fact that are so many large stems that they keep clogging my grinder and I have to then remove them by hand. We reached out to Monterey Bay very shorty after receiving this product and experiencing issues but never received any response. I am just very disappointed and now have to figure out how to salvage the large quantity of oregano I purchased.

We received the Mexican Whole Leaf Oregano very quickly after ordering. Thank you. We are very pleased with the leaves and exceptionally aromatic. However, the batch contains more stems than we expected.
Contaminated?
Had strong chemical smell like pesticides or fungicides. Family got sick after we made a meal using some. I question your company’s quality controls.
